This is my second year using Splurge to deliver birthday goodies to my daughter (she’s in NJ, I’m in Texas). The cupcakes and cookies are delicious and I can’t even begin to explain how incredibly adorable everything is!!!

I had a cake made for my husbands 30th birthday with matching cookies and everything came out amazing! Both the cake and cookies were fresh and the decor was perfect. You can tell they really took their time with every little detail. It was great and I will certainly be using them for my next event!

I ordered 24 sugar cookies and a cake for a bachelorette party. The cookies were 10/10 looked amazing and tasted fantastic. The cake on the other hand was beautiful but was very dry. I was expecting a moist cake especially for the cost.

I worked with Julie to coordinate cookies for a large client event. Splurges team was fantastic throughout the entire process and made the perfect shark design to go with our theme. The cookies were delicious and were a hit! We look forward to working with Splurge again.

I got a custom made cake and custom made cupcakes for my sons 5th birthday. For the customization, I had very specific requests, and also for the cupcakes. When I saw my order, I couldnt stop smiling. They looked even better than I had imagined, and even more details added than I had thought!! I could tell - Julie and everyone made those with so much love, and each detail was just perfect!! Now comes the taste - again, it was perfectly moist, not overly sweet, and just melted in the mouth. For some reason, we had to use the cupcakes a day later, they were very helpful in giving thorough instructions on how to store, etc. We recently moved to this area, and I am so confident that we are not going to get our cakes from anywhere else!! :) :) Thank you everyone at the Splurge Bakery - keep spreading your love and smiles!

Looks cute from outside... Walked in, to be brushed off by 2 employees talking on their phones SMH. No hello, no service what so ever! It was my daughters sweet 16 birthday and she wanted a pretty 🧁 cupcake from here. You would think that when you walk in with your Family and there are no other customers... you would atleast get a HELLO!? We went to Natales bakery in Summit instead... and are always welcomed with open arms! Definitely would not recommend going here if you want good service 👎

Asked for an Electrician Cake with 1 month in advance and it is BEAUTIFUL. Better than the picture I gave them! The chocolate flavor inside was EVEN better. Delicious, beautiful and good price! Definitely going back. Thank you!

We worked with Julie and her team on our wedding cake. It was absolutely gorgeous and we loved it. However, it was not the design that we had talked about at the tasting. We searched for a bakery for months looking for someone who was able to do what we were looking for. At the tasting, the cake decorator was very excited about the pictures we showed her and couldnt wait to make it for us, which made me very confident in them. The tasting was also better than the cake day of. We bragged to everyone about how amazing the cake was going to be and then it was dry. The cake was beautiful day of, so its hard to give 3 stars, but in the end its not what we talked about.

I ordered special cookies in the shape of a hand/heart. I am a kindergarten teacher. I made home visits to each child in my class prior to the start of school. Some students are on line and others are in class. The home visits and the drop off of the cookie was so great! It made the beginning of the school year go so much more smoothly! I read a story to the children on line and we ate our cookies together! They tasted incredible! I can’t thank Spurge Bakery enough for their kindness, vision and attention to detail. These times are a challenge. The people at Splurge Bakery have added love and sweetness to these difficult days!! Thank you for all you do!!

Ordered a pumpkin pie and apple crumb for Thanksgiving. My husband who normally doesn’t like pumpkin, immediately went back for seconds, it was that good! In addition, the Apple crumb was baked to perfection and so flavorful, the right amount of sweetness and the crust was amazing. So glad we found this little sweet gem!

A pumpkin bar like this says it all... simply awesome. Great trendy spot with its pastel fixtures, clear-window bakery, and peppy character did not disappoint us. Just a few steps from downtown and well worth each one, skip those “other” spots and check this place out for a treat and a coffee, for a special order cake, or for a too-cool, make-your-own pizza and cupcake party with friendly staff and a pride-filled family business. Can’t wait to come back when we are in town!

I really only write reviews for when I have a really good experience- and this was one of those cases.I ordered a rainbow explosion cake for my Moms birthday (she’d wanted to get an explosion cake for so long and finally got to experience one for herself) and it was PERFECT!She was blown away (as it went perfectly with no problems) but also amazed at how it was a great tasting cake too. Usually, youll have a fun, gimmick-y cake but it doesn’t have the best taste in the world, so this was fantastic.Their cake made my Moms birthday incredibly special, and I will absolutely order from them again!

I was looking for an explosion cake for my boyfriend’s birthday.. but more like a big cupcake since I did the explosion cake last year. I found splurge bakery online and read through their great reviews so I called. I spoke to 2 different ladies (I called twice for more info). Both were SO friendly, helpful, patient, and answered all of my questions. I wanted custom colors and even sent them a picture of what I was looking for. They did exactly that. The jumbo cupcakes came out beautiful. I called on Friday. Placed the order over the phone. Asked for them to be ready on Tuesday. I got there Tuesday morning and they brought them right out to me. Payment was already made via phone. Everything was quick and seamless. They were ready and I couldn’t have been happier with how they looked. What was also great was that they tasted soooo good. Sometimes something looks really good but taste doesn’t match! Lol. The price was very reasonable too. Will definitely be coming back for future events and will recommend this bakery to friends and family =)

This is a great local bakery in Millburn. We visit them frequently for great treats. They always have something special and you never have to worry about someone else bringing the same thing to the party as you. The taste of there cakes and pies is out of this world. They let my daughter design her own Birthday cake and then made it to her specs and it was wonderful !Cannot say enough nice things about Julie and her team. This is a must go to bakery whether you have a sweet tooth or not.

Splurge did an incredible job on our gender reveal cake!!! They only had an hour’s notice and were able to put together a truly beautiful candy-filled cake that was so much fun to cut. Great service, delicious cake, very happy customers 😊

At the eleventh hour, I needed 5 dozen individually wrapped photo cookies for a graduation party. Julie was helpful and patient, sorting through images online to find the highest quality art for the cookies. They were shipped overnight and arrived in perfect condition. The wrapping and bows were of the highest quality and the cookies were delicious!

AWESOME BAKERY! The best Whoopie Pies I have ever had and dont even get me started on the Chocolate Chip Cookie Cake! AMAZING! If you love the taste of cookie dough and chocolate chips then you will love the Chocolate Chip Cookie Cake with at least 5 chips per bite!

Absolutely Disappointed with the product. We drove 45 minutes to get a cake from this place for my brother’s birthday.cute place and the cashier was nice but the variety for cakes was nonexistent ,the few cakes that was left looked super old so we picked the one that looked okay. It was a lemon vanilla cake. It was super dry and the frosting around the cake tasted like from supermarket Cans not homemade. Besides being tasteless and dry I found a piece of plastic. I would buy a shop rite cake any day over this place. I would not be returning or recommending this place to anyone.

Splurge is a great place to have a kids birthday party if you like sugar. They let the kids make their own pizza and their own dessert. My son loved it.

Unusual for me to write a review, good or bad...I was very disappointed. I was in the mood for a cupcake but the place I like was closed. I remember Splurge from when I use to bring my daughter to the park across the street and it do remember it being good but hadnt been in a few years. Paid $7 for 2 cupcakes...1st one was stale-cupcake and icing was hard & had no flavor. 2nd, taste was ok but crumpling apart while I was eating it. Wish I didnt waste my money. Maybe just a bad day for cupcakes but wouldnt be my first choice next Im in the mood for something sweet.

Here for my 11 year old kids party. Ended up spending about 800$ for about 15 kids, but it was worth it because the children had fun making pizzas and decorating cupcakes.

This weekend my daughter had her 5th birthday party at Splurge Bakery and it was a complete and total success. Based on the feedback I received from guests this was one of the most entertaining, thought out and enjoyable parties of the year. My daughter already asked if we can book her next party there and my youngest daughter (three years old) wants her next party there as well.Our party consisted of the kids making their own pizza (and eating it of course) and making and decorating their own cookie (to take with them) and included a delicious chocolate cake. With a total of five employees plus the owner assisting during the party the kids has plenty of help prepping, cooking, cleaning, washing and then eating. Even better the parents didn’t (couldn’t) enter the cooking area, giving everyone a chance to take a break and simply watch their kids have a blast through the giant glass window. The bakery is clean, the food is delicious, the staff is helpful and the owner is delightful.I would also like to add that in addition to a great party place they are also a full service bakery – the treats are fantastic, even the coffee is superb, and the prices are all reasonable.I highly recommend you try this place for yourself; either for a party, a snack, or a treat on the go.

Disappointing. I expected a larger or more well stocked place. Not good for children, as the names of some items are profane (yup you read that correctly) albeit there was a kids party on one side of the room. Went there on a referral and well, that was it.

This place used to be expensive and very good but just expensive now. We ordered a cheesecake last month and it was a lot of crust!! even the cheesecake had some orange flavor that we didnt request and when we tried to talk to them they didnt bother calling back. Not great customer service. The apple pie we ordered few months ago was below average as well and for the money you pay at this bakery, it is just not worth it. We are taking our business elsewhere going forward.

I went to this place to buy a cake for my husbands birthday. I stood there for 10 mins with no assistance. The owner walked around talking to the guest at the ongoing party next to where I was standing and basically ignored me. I was the only one standing there at the register. When I tired to get her attention she looked away and started talking to the next person next to me. I just walked out. I dont know how long she will stay in business with the way she treats people. I was the only black person in the store and it sure felt as though she didnt want my business. Shame

Splurge is a little gem of a bakery in Millburn, New Jersey. In my experienced opinion as a serious lover of baked goods, Splurge is so much better than Magnolia in NYC (overrated) and Crumbs (dry cupcakes). Not your standard, run-of-the mill bakery with dry cupcakes, fake shortening-laden frosting and tasteless cookies. Splurge has gourmet cupcakes and cakes, REAL frosting, delicious little treats. My husband works in the area and frequently stops in after work to buy treats to bring home. The cupcakes are amazing - moist, full of flavor and highly addictive. Our favorites are: Red Velvet with cream cheese frosting, Hostess style cupcakes, Banana, Peanut Butter Cup, and Oreo.We also order our birthday cakes from Splurge - the Red Velvet is moist, dense, and flavorful - the owner uses real beet juice in the recipe to cut down on the amount of food coloring needed. We also just had the Chocolate Raspberry Cake, which was delicious - chocolate cake, chocolate frosting & a yummy raspberry buttercream filling. Our favorite is the peanut butter cake. Ive been known to eat most of that cake myself, taking nibbles all day each time I pass through the kitchen.Our kids love the Chocolate Bombe dessert - a mound of chocolate-glazed marshmallow fluff on top of a graham cracker cake base. Their tiramisu is excellent. Their banana pudding is to-die-for! My son and I are seriously disappointed when my husband comes home from Splurge without any banana pudding. My daughter loves their peanut butter mousse served up in little chocolate cups. Honestly, the only things we dont care for are the mini cheesecakes (too dense).Its a great place to have birthday parties. Cheerfully decorated, with great staff to assist the kids in making their pizzas and dessert. People with allergies, please note that this bakery uses wheat, dairy, nuts, eggs in its products - its a BAKERY, and its not specifically set up to be allergen-free.Please, give Splurge a try. We really dont understand the negative reviews - weve had nothing but excellent service from the owners.
