This is temple built on Parvati, small hills in Pune in Peshawa era. Temple is built by Shrimant Nanasaheb Peshawa in memory of his mother Kashibaisabeb in year 1749. This was golden era of Marathe Shahi as they were controlling entire India (upto Atak) and Pune was capital. Main temple has good premises surrounded by wall & Nagarkhana on front main entrance. You can have pradakshina on this wall & look at glimpse of Pune city from all sides. Main entrance is beautiful & two dwarrakshak are carved on both side of wall near entrance. When you enter in premises first you see Nandi Mandap then beautiful idol of Devdeveshwar. On pradkshina marg 4 small & beautiful temples are built at 4 corners. These are Shri Surya, Shri Ganapati, Shri Vishnu & Shri Bhavani Devi. Nice bronze lion 🦁 Idol is in front of Bhavani Devi Temple. Premises is clean & beautiful. Entry ticket for having round on wall is ₹ 10 per person. Photography is not allowed.

Quaint temple on top of the Parvati Hill. First saw this temple many years ago in an old documentary on legendary Hindustani vocalist Pt Bhimsen Joshi where he sings Raag Miyan Malhar in the courtyard of Parvati temple. I was intrigued by this place since then. Finally got a chance to visit in 2019 when I was in Pune for a work trip. The hike up to the temple and the ambience of the place was wonderful.

Bhakti and ShaktiSituated approx 1.25 Kms from Swargate bus stand, the temple is a Hot favourite for Puneites. You can reach here easily by any mode of conveyance till the foot of the hill. After that you have to Trek up to the temple. The temple was built during the Peshwa Era and is abode to Lord Shiva. The steps here are long and wide and the climb ls very steep. Anyone who is not used to physical activity will find it a bit difficult, but the climb is worth it. You can take as many stops as you want on this short trek and enjoy the scenic view of Pune City. You can find people of all age groups here who are either here to seek blessings of the Lord or just to spend the evening or who want to keep themselves fit or need some private moments with their beloved.Apart from the main temple, there are few other temples also and then There is a museum which gives you an insight into the life and times of the Peshwas. The climb to the temple gives you Shakti and the Darshan ignites your Bhakti.Do visit and experience the joy of both Bhakti and Shakti.

This temple complex is on parvati hill right in the center of pune city. It was built by the peshvas who were the prime ministers of chatrapati shahu maharaj. So this place has historical importance. It must have been beautiful at its heydays. But right now a big slum has encroached on half of the hill at north west and west side. The hill has lost most of its greenery. Lots of beggars and stray dogs roam on the steps. There is no parking space, you have to park on road. The steps are approx. 70 to below hundred (not counted). But the steps have large landings, awkward turns, bends and steepness. No shade or trees on the steps. The temple complex at the top has Devdeveshwar mandir of lord shiv along with temples of ganesh, parvati or bhavani, surya etc. A vitthal rukhmini temple and a kartikswami temple. The temple complex is well maintained. There is administrative office and peshva museum there. As I said it must have been beautiful some 40 years ago but have lost much of its glory now, Sad to say that as a punekar myself.

This is one of the tourist spot in Pune. However it is more known for mornig/ evening walk/ exercise. Excellent place for good exercise with open air. Has a temple on the top of the hill. Very good city view from the top. located in the heart of the city and is a historical place too. One is surprised at the greenery surrounding the small hillock at Parvati Hill, which is pretty steep and may not be recommended for people with difficulties to climb. The temple is small but very well kept and the place is quiet. . Entry fee is only ₹10/ person. Also if you pay extra ₹5 they will allow you terrace access which gives you beautiful city view.

When you are tired of the boredom of the routine or just having too cluttered thoughts, head to this serene hillock for some freshness!!Its a quick little trek of around 100 steps and has a museum of the peshwa era and few temples on it. Its great joy walking up catching the view of the city!!See the sunrise and sunset. I went in the evening so it was a great experience. The temperature was going down, the sun was setting in. Best part was to see the view of the beautiful city convert to all citylights, the sunset. Its a great place to have silent conversations with friends. The surrounding is extremely clean. You can exercise, chat with unknown people, read, write. Its open from 5 am to 10 pm.

On top of Hill there is Temples & Shiv kalin Museum which has all the Peshve kalin antiques which used by Warriors. We can see all the Pune city from top of Parvati Hill. Many peoples goes with colleagues & Friend to enjoy nature. You can feel very fresh here, many peoples in Pune came here for exercise. With in 1/2 hour reach to top and enjoy Hills beauty. This is very nice and beautiful place in Pune.Parvati Hill is one of the most attractive places in an around Pune City in Maharashtra, India. The Parvati Hill is essentially a religious citadel but it also caters a grand natural exuberance. The Pravati Hill is actually a hillock that rises almost 2100 feet above the sea surface. Pune being a highland itself brings down the effective altitude of the Parvati Hill to only 263 feet, thus the hill becomes a hillock. There is the temple of Devdevshwara, dedicated to Lord Shiva & Lady Parvati, atop the hill with other four temples dedicated to many deities such as Lord Vishnu, Lord Kartikeya, Vitthal & Rukmini etc. The main temple is made with pure Blackstone and was built by Balaji Bajirao during the Peshwa reign in the year 1749 of Common Era.The temple is actually the apex of the hillock and to get there travellers have to scale a flight of 103 stairs. The viewpoint at the top gives a great panoramic view of the whole Pune City and the Western Ghats. This green hillock is a great tourist spot for any and every visitor.
