Good place to stay... In Goubert Avenue.. In front of Bay of Bengal.. There are a few sea facing deluxe rooms.. Breakfast good.. But.. Wifi inside the rooms have very poor internet.. Toilets become water logged at times... In rains, water comes inside the rooms from roof..Otherwise good.. Excellent behavior of staffs..Too overpriced than similar hotels..

One of the worst restaurant to visit.. A simple order of pizza and drinks took more than 40 mins even less crowd was present. The bill presented to us was wrong and took 3 attempt to rectify and present the correct bill.

Way too overpriced food. We ordered grilled sandwich… it was too dry, improperly grilled. Definitely not worth the price. Any street side sandwich would be much better.

We are at their restaurant. Great food. The tagliatelle and lasagna were delicious. The brownie was also really good. A little pricey but the food and service was worth it.

Location is great but the bathrooms are very small and the water seeps through the walls in the bathroom.. dont think any 4 start hotels have it ..Otherwise the ambience is great , bay of Buddha roof top restaurant is great

A bit on the expensive side, recommend the Buffalo wings and bacon wrapped chicken. Carbonara was a sheer disappointment, the seafood platter wasnt great, the fish had been cooked very dry. Staff was generous to compliment us on the brownies for our honest review of dry food.

A Beachfront property with good views which of course come at a premium. Very accessible through the Rocky beach and close to all the eateries in town. If youre new to Pondi, its a pretty decent place to stay.Rooms are okay and not as spacious as you might expect with barely any sound proofing. We had to deal with a mosquito problem in the room the moment we entered (unfortunately). Although the staff was quick to help in offering a change of room, cleaning and kept checking in on us for the next couple of days.Breakfast and food - they dont have a wide spread or many options even with the 2 restaurants but its manageable. Plenty of places around The Promenade to fill your belly!Great staff, very kind and helpful.

Very dirty, you can see drainage water getting mixed with beach water which makes the water grey in colour.Nit worth going.

The staff is very polite and the ambience is very cosy. Their Storyteller pub has a nice set-up with good music. Room size is good. bathrooms are a little small. best part is for a beach side hotel located at walking only area, the front of hotel has space for self driven cars and two wheelers. Its okay choose this as option. The sea view looks beautiful from the hotel. Ive stayed here for 3 days. Hasnt been a great experience though. We were served stale chicken which was a great black mark. Rooms were not maintained great. Staff was polite and good.

Promenade used to be a good hotel but now the condition of the rooms has become extremely bad, similar to an average 2 star hotel that OYO rooms offer.We stayed in the suite... paid over 10k per night, and felt bad for wasting our money. Another hotel in the range of 5-6k could have been a better choice. The room’s upkeep was shabby, the bed mattress was completely flat and uncomfortable (specially for a 10k room), and bed sheets were old and had lint on it, amenities were very basic, the bathroom was very tiny and uninviting, and the upkeep of the room was deplorable.Moreover, the Suite room is next to the kitchen on the roof, and the moment you step out you can smell food cooking.We thought the view would be great from the suite room, (one of the reasons why we took the room in the first place), but the windows were dirty, and spotty🤷‍♀️Please improve the standards of your hotel rooms. Or don’t hype up the prices so much and fall short on customer’s basic expectations. The hotel lobbies and environment sell your hotel very well, but the fact that a hotel is supposed to be a place where people come and stay, try to put focus into your rooms.The restaurant on the rooftop and cafe was good. We had our dinners there and were pleased with the service. However the breakfast spread was very average.

Hotel is about 500 meters from the beach, great view. Its roof-top restaurant “Bay of Buddha” is perhaps the only restaurant with an all-round fantastic view of the sea. Sri Aurobindo Ashram is a kilometre, Serenity beach is about 7 kilometres from here.Hotel is on the main road. Located in area that does not allow car parks, the valet parks your car on the roadside. Has wheelchair accessible entrance. Has two restaurants, one on the ground floor and the other roof top, both are very popular fills up very fast on weekends. Has a bar. No Smoking.The rooms and food are not inexpensive. Wi-fi is available. Food is fresh and very tasty. Rooms are kept neat. Service is great.

Considering the price and stars, it’s not up to the mark.First of all, the rooms are not up to a 4 star hotel. They could have been better.The bathroom was too small and used to get all messy in few hours.The corridor was better compared to the rooms.Honestly the room didn’t look like a four star hotel room specially if we are paying that price for it!The staff was very good no doubt. But the hotel rooms are not maintained at all. The glasses were all fogged up.The complimentary buffet was very basic. There was not much variety in it and same food was offered every single day. Compared to most of the four star resorts I have been to, this was very subpar.Disappointed.

Great buffet.Good service.Ac was not ON due to Covid restrictions and we were sweating during lunch. After complaining they shifted us to open garden area and provided free beer pints each due to the inconvenience caused. Really appreciate the management

Nice place to enjoy the beach beauty. Food is not so great. Its a very cozy atmosphere that you can chill with your favourite cocktail and breath in the beach and enjoy the calmness.

The place is Simple, decent and pleasant to chill out with friends and family. Facing the Sea and at the back a beautiful park. Ideal location. I am ofcourse here on official tour.

Good chic hotel. Room sizes are average. Bathroom is very small. Has a nice pub, a nice rooftop restaurant. You can park your self driven vehicle right outside the hotel.

Probably the Neatest beach in Pondicherry. Ambience is really good. Plenty of restaurants and bars nearby. Plenty of spaces to sit and chit chat with the loved ones.Parking spaces are available ( not sure it’s adequate for cars ). The area felt really premium and beautiful at the same time. I liked promenade beach over any other beaches such as auroville, serenity, paradise etc

Despite being hard to reach for some reason (police blockades everywhere at every turn, so it is difficult to navigate to), the hotel is nice and clean. Very bright and conveniently located next to the sea. You cannot swim in the sea near the hotel, but you do get an amazing sea breeze and everything in Town is walkable from here. It loses a star because its impossible to reach.

Wonderful location. But the room is really small. If you are planning for an extra bed, please be prepared to walk on the bed. The website shows a swimming pool. Dont make a fool of yourself packing a swim suit. The pool is really small, like a 10X10 room. Inspite of all this, totally worth it if you love waking up seeing the beach and like to take a morning walk in the beach

Food is really good. Roof top is good too, although you cant see much after sunset, but it is good. Just the service is bit slow but that too from one waitress...

The place is heavily crowded. Thankfully we went at around 7pm and found good place to sit. The performances/live show started at around 8pm which included rap song, mimes, standup comedy etc.

Average rooms in Prime location.The Good:1. Prime location. Near the beach and also many restaurants around.2. Staff are nice and friendly.3. They have Take-away breakfast if you are checking out early. Very useful and appreciate it.4. Food was very good in their roof top restaurant though bit costly.The Bad:1. Rooms are bit old and wooden floors make noise. Hallways are dark and hotel age reflects on walls.2. Lot of noise in the evening since there is a market beside the hotel.3. Roads to hotel gets closed by baricades after 4pm since its beach road and gets crowded in evening.4. Parking is big headache. If you are going by car, completely avoid this hotel since roads get closed in evening and will have to park a kilometer away from hotel. Also, they dont have own parking and have to park on road side. You cannot remove the car to go out once roads get barricaded.5. Food was bit expensive.6. Rooms were not worth the amount.I would definitely not prefer this hotel again.

Location is amazing. In fact, arguably best location in pondicherry and around. Rock Beach is just in front. Many rooms offer amazing views of sea.However, rooms are old and need rehaul. Cars cant enter the lane where this hotel is, so valet parking is mandatory. This is not informed beforehand and only one person is available for this.

One of prominent and beautiful hotel in Pondi.. designed on French architecture theme the hotel is located bang on Promenade beach road. The boutique size hotel has quite well spread offerings. Roof top restaurant Bay if Budhha is an all time hit place. With French food menu it is quite popular among millennials.

The service at restaurant is coming worst day after day. They charge very expensive prices and are not able to offer a normal services. We were waiting for the food for 2 hours and drinks never come. The new managers and waiters are of not use and they are not trained. It was much more better before. Promenade is becoming the worst place to have dinner in Pondi.

Dont ever go to this hotel, food safety department caught many kilos of expired mutton and fish , but hotel name didnt came in paper, but this is the hotel, if u want expired mutton and fish, then visit this hotel

We always assumed the hotel is good however never stayed as we always stayed in ashram guest houses. The assumption was proved wrong when we dropped into the multicuisine restaurant. Pathetic service, limited options in the menu, casual and untrained staff. Food tasted good but by the time we received it the appetite was almost gone. The bill came as a shock where the drinking water with marked price Rs. 20 was charged Rs. 100. We asked them to reverse the service charge as we were extremely disappointed and charging Rs. 80 higher than the printed MRP for water is illegal. They didnt reverse the service charge instead gave a 10% discount on the bill and they refused to change the price of water instead removed it from the bill. Quite a disappointing experience.

Beautiful view during the day and night. Just opposite the Bay of Bengal. One good thing which I would love to specially mention is the Customer Service. Before we could even ask for extra bottle of water or extra bedding as we were 3 people in a room the housekeeping made sure that they were provided which usually we need to ask even in 5 star hotels.There are some small things which can be looked into like shower pipe leak in bathroom. They also take lot of time to serve but then people are on vacation so its ok😉Loved the walk on Promenade Beach.Special Thabks to Mr. Sathish (Executive Chef) who went out of the way to accommodate a interview request for my daughters college project🤩

Good to stay with sea view

Located right by the beach, the Promenade is an exquisite hotel with a magnificent view. A highlight of the hotel is the rooftop restaurant ‘Bay of Buddha’ where you not only get to have some of the best pan Asian food in Pondicherry but you get to enjoy the meal on the pleasant rooftop while listening to the sound of ocean waves right next to you. Some must try dishes are the seafood sushi and Thai curry with Jasmine rice. The hotel and its restaurants are all about the experience.

The ambience and the place was so refreshing and good. Of course the food was decent.

The only positives they have is a great location and decent food. The service was slow, with rude staff (you can even excuse this, as it was a pretty busy night)The worst thing about this place is their rooms. We walk in during check in to see three flies on the bed, and two more on the ground. We’d asked them to clean the room, and came back after 9 hours to find one still there. We gave up and went to bed only to jump out immediately - the cover was full of red stains, and the bed sheets had dirt tracks all over them. They finally came back at 11:30 pm to “clean the room” for a second time. Truly appalling to see this lack of cleanliness (especially after requesting them to clean the room again during check in) from a “4 star” hotel!

Worst experience ever. Pathetic customer service. No parking available. We had to search for parking almost 2 streets away. Towels were not provided in the bathrooms. We understand they haven’t received them from the laundry. To top it all, The bathroom was not clean

Best choice to stay...

Lovely location! Their Pan Asian restaurants ambience and food was very good. The rooms and interiors can do with some upkeep. Their service although slow (it was a festival weekend and they may have been understaffed), the staff went out of their way to ensure we were taken care of. Especially Shifa and Kalai. All in all we had a wonderful family holiday.

Dont go by the name Staff misguided us on reaching Puducherry and made us go round and round and wasted check in time on streets bathroom stinky, smelly, staff misguided us on places to visit saying they were closed when actually they were open .

We booked a sea view room. But the room initially given was so disappointing and it was not looking like for you pay 8k & 9k. Stuffs were cooperative and well receptor so when we asked for them to check for a different room they switched us to a much better room which should be given initially. Couldnt understand why they didnt alot that room in the beginning itself. Food was ok. Continental was better than indian. May be because of Corona the experience was not as we expected.

Best place to stay in white town

Overrated, room are old and even plumbing are not maintained. Morning breakfast counters are chaos and not refilled properly.One thing which is good is the housekeeping they clean the place and very courteous

The place is located at a prime location. Most tourist spots are at a walking distance from this place. To be honest ,you wont even need a scooty. The bar at the ground floor is sea facing. The cocktail I tried afternoon were perfectly made, all I ordered to eat was french fries ,which were crisp and tasty ( not sure if they were the frozen ones but they were good).Staff is helpful and cheerful .The bottom restaurant needs a little check on the unwanted people begging you while you are at the table.As a matter of fact ,the rooms are old and poorly maintained, though the wooden flooring makes the place look elegant but still needs polishing and touchup.The view and location of the hotel will make your complaints go away. You should stay here if you want a feel good factor.
