The place has a very good location. With amazing views of the bay. It’s close to the local market and other tourist destinations as well.It gives a heritage look and is neat clean and comfortable.The service was also good and the food was good too.The staff was helpful and polite.

This property is at a very good location in Port Blair.It is overlooking the sea, the market and other important locations are not very far from here, however You will need a vehicle to get around.The property has many rooms overlooking the sea, so make sure which room you are booking. The rooms with sea facing are an excellent choice.The hotel also has its own restaurant overlooking the sea.However many people find the service of the hotel very poor, and have mentioned in numerous sites regarding this.I would like to add by saying yes we too had a poor experience in terms of service inside and outside the rooms.However knowing this we some how managed to work around this issue and managed to get our way around. We made sure we were consistent and persistent in what we wanted, double checked with the staff in what we wanted and kept our expectations low. We werent much disappointed.We were compensated by the kindness of the staff who were willing to help us in any way. I am sure people are looking for a luxurious experience staying at this property but it was not so bad.The overall experience was good as far as we were concerned!

I stayed in bay island hotel by welcome group in the month of April 21. I had a great experienceThe hotel is excellently located in the heart of port Blair. The sea view from hotel is absolutely amazing. The food was very good. The best part of my stay was the staff. They were very friendly, helpful and courteous. All in all my stay was very memorable. I would like to visit again and again. I will also recommend this place to my near and dear ones.

Few things which is actually make this place a better and preferable to stay is firstly the location of this place which in the main center of the city everything is very near this hotel, secondly view from the room and hotel such a breathtaking sea view another thing I love about this hotel is the location of the bar of the hotel at the sea side open view with the cool sea breeze and drinks in your hand that feels great.Only drawback of the hotel is service is little bit slow at hotel sometimes reception didnt respond to the calls.Overall you should definitely stay at the hotel as it is in the prime location and giving the best view.

Its an unique place we have ever visited till now. Hospitality was superb; according to global hospitality standards. The staff make us feel much more comfortable and enjoyable.

In one word - NO. The only good thing about this hotel is the view that their sea facing rooms offer. Apart from that, the whole experience is terrible. Right from check-in, the staff is slow and uninterested. They are not receptive to any comments or feedback. On one end they portray themselves as a five star property but nothing here reflects that. Our room was quite small and not clean. Toiletries were provided for one despite having booked the room for two people. Had to ask twice to even have water sent to the room. If you are looking for a comfortable stay at Port Blair, this is not the place to be. The breakfast spread was quite limited and they even forgot part of our order. Upon enquiring after 40 minutes, they started passing the blame amongst each other instead of giving us the food. We had to cancel it since we couldnt wait any longer. Please also note that they do not have a travel desk or hotel transportation, and if you require one, they will ask you to negotiate rates with the driver and completely wash off all responsibility from their hands. Never going back to this hotel again.

The hotel is at a great location and the setup is fine. The staff need to be better trained and faster. They were giving me a double bed room for a 3 head booking and provided the extra bed only when debated. Kitchen is good

The location of the hotel is great. A 15 mins ride from the airport and overlooking the stunning sea. The rooms are clean and services are prompt. The breakfast was also of wide variety and delicious. The only disappointment was that the bar was not well stocked imo as rum and domestic wines were not available. Overall, would recommend it!

The photos shown are very touched up and the place is made to look better than it actually is. The hotel looked like a run down guest house. It lacked competent staff in every department. They do not even have a 24 hour hot water supply. Very disappointing for an ITC hotel. Not recommended for this price.

Restaurant is spacious, having a perfect sea view and kind of open !! Snacks & drinks served found to be good. The Bar handler is doing a superb job.

I stayed one night in Welcome hotel included in my honeymoon package, this was the worst choice among all the hotels. Since I booked the Deluxe room but the balcony view was the worst as it was so untidy and bedsheets were smelly, walls were defective and the structure of the hotel is so confusing you will get confuse which stairs you need to take to reach at point, not worth spending something around 6K to 6.5K. The swimming pool they have kept closed due to Covid but all the other reputed hotels have it functional it seems like they just running out of service. The only good thing about the hotel was breakfast buffet.

The location and the views from the place were really nice. However the restaurant had very slow service. The restaurant was short-handed to handle the guests which led to long delays.

They have provided the undrinkable water in the Jug. They have agreed their mistakes. I have spoken the GM and he assured that suitable corrective action will be taken.Apart from that I have also suggested to keep some polishing on the furniture and replace the cushions etc.Location and ambience is extraordinary.

We stayed for a night here. A classy, pleasant hotel and you will forget yourself having a relaxing coffee on the restaurant foyer or the bar area, looking at the beautiful bay with a nice sea breeze blowing into your face. The rooms are neat, although, slightly small. We booked and got a sea view room but didnt get one with a balcony(a small one).. The allotment might be random. Food is good, staff is friendly but during the covid times while checking in they will make you sign a ton of documents.. The rooms are spread out , so if you are a large party you might not all get rooms in the same block. There was also no lift but one was in construction.. The road to the hotel is uphill and through narrow lanes but reachable by all vehicles. Close to all main tourist attractions but 6kms from the Corbyn beach..

The hotel is just okay. I went with my family there and while I searched for a place to stay, I found welcome hotel by ITC. Thinking of name ITC,one would expect a wonderful hotel, great amenities and cooperative staff. Sadly this hotel doesnt cover anything as such. The staff is rude, the amenties is not worth the price, and the hotel is not maintained as such. It feels like they converted someones home into a hotel which you could even expect to be nice but it isnt. I would suggest look more for better places in Port Blair. Do some research and try to book early, so that good places are not sold out

A very good place to stay in Port Blair with good staff but there is warmth lacking in the top management. The lower level staff are very good. Take the rooms with sea view. It is better than Kovalam. The rooms are small and compact. The swimming pool was badly maintained due to renovation work going on. There is no changing room. And the restaurant had a limited menu. Better to go for the buffet. What saves the hotel from bad reviews is the housekeeping and restaurant staff who work their heart out especially people like Subu, Joy kutty, Suresh, Sashi etc. And this is the first place in India which does not accept Aadhar as proof of identity. They ask for driving licence. When I asked for the manager to reply on this he never met us. Strange. So one star less for the lack of warmth.

Just for name sake its ITC , had to wait for soo long just fir check-in. Also the place was full of mosquitoes. Had to ask for mosquitoes repellent. Though this hotel has an excellent location and is on the hill top. Overall the view from their restaurant was soo mesmerizing .You must avoid staying at this property because their hospitality was really poor.

First day of our vacation after Covid crisis and I end up with the worst ever hotel experience. And Ive been lucky enough to stay at over 110 different hotels, so make no mistake when I say this.Firstly the checkin took about 15 mins, with no welcome drink or wet towel or even a pleasant greeting from the staff.The room was tiny and outdated, really not at all worth for the amount they are charging.The view from the bar and restaurant is good, but thats about it. The service was the most pathetic Ive ever witnessed.40 mins to get a starter we ordered with the drinks and then it had such a strong smell of stale oil, we just took 2 bites and had it sent back..Thought of ordering on room, but after 3 calls and 40 mins, even the menu card was not sent to the room.Eventually we had to fight, struggle, yell and run up and down to the lobby for about 1.5 hours to get a very very ordinary plate of dal chawal and 1 sabzi.Even though they felt apologetic and didnt charge us for the food, the damage was already done.Despite all this fiasco, not once did the manager bother to even speak to us.Moreover it wasnt just us, the breakfast buffet was a constant fight between guests and staff.Ironically they have a training room in the hotel. I wonder what it is for? Certainly not for hospitality!!Really, take my advise and dont waste your money staying in this disgrace of a hotel. We spent a night at Hotel lemon tree right opposite the airport and it was such a good experience. Or you could try one of the many other hotels in Port Blair, plenty of options to choose from.

Epic location! Its easily reached form both the Jetty and the Airport, within 15 mins. You can watch the sun rise from the BayLeaf cafe on the property, without having to go to any sunrise points on the island.They upgraded us to a sea-facing room, yayy!The check-in couldve been quicker, but everything goes during COVID times, tons of declarations to sign!The room was decently furnished, though I felt the need of a Hair dryer in the room. Not a necessity, but definitely welcome, should you need it.Breakfast was simple fare, I would suggest improving the menu and offering more variety in cooked options. Also, there were times when they ran out of some items, quite a bummer. Overall, a good deal.

Good hotel and lovely location to spend holidays with family..Located just be the sea the view and vibes are amazing..WiFi works only in the Lobby area, but, if youbhave Airtel/BSNL sim, you can have some data service in the rooms as well..Recently the place has been taken iver by the ITC chain of hotels and upliftment of the full hotel is under process.

Location is awesome, also the ambiance but welcom hotel was not welcoming the reception wasnt well trained to handle guest, at times it felt they were Clueless . I had booked the hotel the hotel from ITC Reservations but the hotel wasnt even aware about the reservation I had to call ITC Reservations and request them to inform the Hotel. The food in the cafe is delicious but it feels that the cafe is understaffed and not able to attend large inflow of guest, I ended up waiting 1 hr just to get a simple dish. I feel they have a long way to go.

View from the hotel restaurant overlooking Andaman sea is the only best feature of this hotel. The buildings are old, construction happening everywhere, is very dirty and unkept. The pool was supposedly broken but the entire area was very dirty. Rooms were smelly, bathroom enclosure was leaking causing the dry area also become wet. They had one towel in the room for three of us (with kid) and when asked for extra towel, they gave ONE multicolored pool towel.

Hospitality and housekeeping are good. Food at restaurant was delicious. Breakfast options were limited.Internet facility only at restaurant.

We had a very comfortable stay at Fortune. We had a sea facing room and the view was just spectacular! The room was spacious and had all the necessities. The bathroom was also good. Staff is very courteous. The food was well prepared, and we enjoyed it sitting at an outdoor table with the sea view. For a peaceful, enjoyable and hassel free stay this place is highly recommended!

Very bad hotel. Not even close to a 5 star. Dirty beddings, construction going on, 45 minutes delay in meals, and out of whole menu only 3-4 items available.. waiters come and ask what did you had yesterday.. literally the worst experience of ITC.. See images attached..

The sea facing rooms offer breathtaking views of the iconic lighthouse on north bay.The rooms are very nice and clean. The billing is fast and efficient. They have a cloakroom service and an efficient laundry as well.The restaurant serves a wonderful buffet breakfast.BUT EASILY THE MOST ATTRACTIVE THING ABOUT THIS RESORT IS THE EXTREMELY FRIENDLY AND HELPFUL STAFF.It wa pleasure to be there and I would love to visit it again.

Best place i have seen in my life, hotel staff was too humble, rooms were clean and with good interior. Sea view outside the rooms was awesome. It has cafeteria with Seaview. You can enjoy your whole day there.View from the resort was awesome. In the evening time you can just stay at cafeteria and enjoy chilling winds.

Had a wonderful experience at the hotel. The staff is very polite and helpful. While wifi is limited to restaurant, my phone internet was working even in rooms. I use airtel. JIO does not work anywhere in Andaman.Food was good and the hotel has a great location.For my dads birthday the manager went the extra mile and gifted us cake and a bottle of champagne.

The bar and the overlook lounge area are my favorite spots in this resort! The rooms were not facing the ocean so it was decent with required facilities and clean. The breakfast was so good and the drinks were great! Pool was under renovation by the time i visited so cant comment on that! The resort was north facing the ocean so no sunrise or sunset view but still totally worth the view overlooking the island! Not just Port Blair but in general the entire Andaman islands were super expensive and it is the price you would pay to stay at a 5 star in the mainland. They will help you book taxi to Airport!

We went to the restaurant, the service is totally nonsense. We waited for our order for almost an hour, but all we got was reassurance that it will be there in 5 mins again and again. This is just shameful on theie part. They were delightly serving the people who are staying in the hotel but no service for outsiders. This is disgraceful. We had to walk out before recieving our order and they did not care at all. Very very poor service.

Best resort in a nice locationFortune bay resort is well located near to the seaside and have beautiful views from all the sides of resorts. This is not very big property, but decent size with swimming pool and few amenities. Pros  :Location is awesome from dining and Bar areaAll the staff were very helpful Checkin process was very smooth and one lady in receptionist had taken care of everything during our checkin process They were able to accommodate our early check in also Rooms were ok/decent size and they provided extra mattress for my kid .Cons  :Food is not worth for the money you pay ..Taste is not upto the mark Breakfast spread is also limited and not good ( Staff in restaurant were very helpful)Few renovation work is going on and swimming pool is not operational You need to climb up or climb down the stairs to reach your room ..so elderly persons might find difficult I would love to give 5 stars ..but giving 4 stars on disappointment on food .

The room is spacious with a small table and two chairs, very comfortable beds and the room and bathroom has all the amenities you would expect from a luxury hotel.The pool area was closed as they are renovating the rooms above the pool. I am sure when these rooms are ready they will offer a great view.The hotel has a great sitting area from where you can also get a view of the sea. The Rs.20 note (old note) has a panting of the view. The sitting area outside the restaurant also has this view. We were on the MAP Plan and the dinner was fixed menu but the restaurant staff were kind enough to accommodate our requests. The food was very tasty and well presented, the staff smiling and friendly.Breakfast was buffet and quite elaborate. Really enjoyed the breakfast sitting at one of the outdoor tables with the sea view. Will have a long and unforgettable memory of our stay at Fortune Bay Resort.

When we went the place was under renovation. Most of the good facilities were not available due to renovation. Check whether renovation work is completed before booking your stay. Staff was very courteous. Food was good but Not much of options. Felt disappointed to have North Indian and South Indian food. Local cuisine was not available in the restaurant. Rooms were maintained well and very good.

Beautiful location and great food. The kitchen and bar staff was so friendly and made such amazing food that it made it feel like a perfect vacation. The breakfast was especially good and room service second to none. It was also easy to get around as they had cabs that would take you where you wanted to visit and even wait there for you. The only issues are that there is no internet connection and even getting cell reception can be a chore. It made it difficult to get in contact with anyone. Also it is still under renovation so not all of the amenities such as the pool and outdoor bar are open yet. Rooms were very nice and newly renovated. Great views and peaceful.

Old hotel with superb view and great hospitality. Rooms are good too. Food was okay. It was under renovation so couldnt use the pool and other facilities. It has a spot from where you can see the North Bay Island with the lighthouse; the same view which is printed on a Rs. 20 Indian note! Doesnt hv an elevator.

The place doesn’t deserve even single star, pathetic service, menu and unkempt place!!! No one give crocodile arse to guests requirements, ‘not available’ is the standard answer, no one bothers to refills the buffet!! Empty and soiled utensils lying everywhere, no one to pick up!!!! Please do yourself a favour, don’t even think about this place, forget visiting!!!! .!

We stayed here for 3 nights and this is my far the best hotel and restaurant in Port Blair. The manager, Mr. Abhishek, took excellent care of my family. The rooms are modern and comfortable with great views (ask for a sea-view room) and plenty of hot water. The Mandalay restaurant had tasty local food, north/south Indian, and great pizza on the menu. They were also the only restaurant in Andaman that made spring rolls for us!The pool is under renovation until (estimated) Oct 2019, but the hotel is still head and shoulders above the local competition. Thanks for treating my wife and kids so well during our stay! See you next time.

Check Indian Rupees currency note Rs 20 (Orange colour), Light house in Port Blair is illustrated in that currency note, you can see the exact view/scene of the light house, hills and sea from this hotel.Its one of the oldest 3 star hotel in Port Blair, maintaining the same class like ITC owned Fortune brand hotels.Currently its under renovation, pool is not available, no WiFi. Mobile signals very weak all over A&N islands. WiFi is available in business centre. Rooms are really good. Neat & Clean.Bar & Restaurant food quality is good.
