We were really looking forward to this meal as the restaurant had been highly recommended. We ordered a delivery and unfortunately the meal arrived warm not hot. This just spoiled our food and to say we are disappointed is an understatement. The meal arrived in a paper bag rather than a insulated bag which is probably why the food was not delivered hot! Therefore I would not recommend ordering a delivery from this restaurant.

As we travel to different places in the UK, restaurants that serve good Indian food seem to simply find us. Masala Junction in Nottingham is wonderful and we had our dinners there on both the days of our stay in the city. As vegetarians who cant process paneer, we had to choose vegan options only. Although the menu may seem to have very few vegan/ vegetarian options, the staff /chefs are very flexible with the dishes and will make a vegetarian version of a chicken gravy dish for you, upon request. This way, you can taste different types of gravies/ curries without eating the meat!

Venue has a really great atmosphere. There is a good range of dishes offered on the menu and food is good value for money. It is slightly more expensive than other restaurants, but this is reflected in the quality. The food was served and presented really nicely and was very tasty and filling. Would definitely recommend to others and return in the future.

Had a lovely evening here for dinner with my wife eating out to help out. She loved the goat curry and the scallops to start, I enjoyed the chicken jalfrazi. Prices a tad to expensive even with the discount, but the restaurant has a refined atmosphere which is appealing. Agree with other reviewers, you shouldnt automatically add a service charge (especially for a group of 2), and leave tipping down to discretion.

Im very disappointed in the service charge that is forced upon you, this should be the customers decision to tip not made mandatory. Especially when the prices for food is sky high.Food is of good quality but honestly the price you pay along with service charge, youre better off going to the Michelin star Indian restaurants in Nottingham - itll be cheaper.

We waited so long to, once again, enjoy the delicious food at MJ and despite the grim weather, we were not disappointed! Was it the absence of eating in a restaurant for so long? Or has the food got even better? Food, drinks, service and ambience all achieved the full 5 stars! Thank you so much to all the staff for such an amazing evening... Highly recommend this restaurant for a fabulous fine dining experience at reasonable prices 😋

Good friends & a great meal in splendid surroundings, perfect night out.The meal was fantastic, different spices & sauces tasted; served by efficient & friendly staff. Not the cheapest - but not the most expensive either. All in all, if you fancy trying something different from what other Indian restaurants offer, then stop off at this Junction for a meal to remember.

The place itself is beautiful staff are so professional and so polite. But the food ? honestly, food wasnt great. i had a lamb biriyani and the lamb was so overcooked i couldnt swallow it without a drink. As well the rice was mushy like rice pudding and had a weird flavour. i think i had 2 bites and had to leave it. I think the owner could tell i didnt like it. didnt complain though cause i had a long day to be honest and just couldnt be bothered with the hassle. Even when Whom i believe is the manager came over to ask if we was happy with the food i just kept quiet but i think he knew.Dont know what my husband ordered but his food was just pure chili - he couldnt even really taste anything but heat. It wasnt what he expected and he is Indian so ... it was overpriced for what you actually get on ya plate. But then thats fine dining for you - a lot of money for very mediocre food.and dude a service charge as well ? we had a drink each and a main ..... and there was just 2 of us. very very sneaky

We love Masala Junction. A little embarrassed to say how frequently we’ve had takeaway from here recently and it never disappoints. The quality it outstanding and worth the price. We tried the vegetarian and vegan dishes first, ordering quite unusual things (for us) and I was so pleased we did - they were so different to anything we’d previously had and I didn’t miss the meat at all as there was so much flavour. The service is impeccable and all of the staff are extremely polite. We’ll definitely be coming back and can’t wait to come in again in person when we can!

A pity that there is not a 5 star plus option, because this great restaurant is certainly worth one. From the moment that you enter the premises you realise that it is not your standard India restaurant, as you see the perfect high class table settings. Being taught Indian food by various India and Pakistani friends over many years, I am not easily pleased, so as a result usually choose different cuisines. We dined with 2 friends and this was their first location of choice and how pleased we both were that we agreed. A very varied menu - not the usual type, but a tempting comprehensive list of items to please even the most discerning palate. Frank and I chose scallops for starters and mains of saag (literally the best that I have ever eaten) and goat curry and ,tandoori roti - all were faultless and delicious - the desserts of gulab jamun and rasmalai a perfect end to a perfect meal.To me, an avid cook, a meal should please the eye as well as the taste buds and this is where Masala Junction wins hands down. The chefs spent time to ensure that every dish was beautifully finished and presented. Service was again friendly and polite even when my credit card was initially rejected!! Many thanks to all concerned in making that meal so special. Will we be going again? - absolutely!!I have to say that we had great company as well! :)

Long overdue review! I found the staff, especially the manager to be excellent. Food was good, with a nice variety and the ambience was pleasant. It was a bit pricey but there you are. My only gripe was with the owner who I found to be a little insincere, and a tad false. Maybe others have felt differently when engaging with him. Perhaps this should not matter too much, however, as my friend and I chatted to him during the meal and following his apparent insincerity it made me feel rather dispirited for the rest of the meal. To elaborate, he was curt towards me and certainly made me, as a customer, feel unappreciated.

These people rate themselves highly, sadly the food does not quite reach the same level, we had a £40 takeout. The presentation is of the highest standard, 5 stars for that. Sadly we all found the food to be over spicy which masked the complexity of flavours I would expect to taste. Also the delivery driver told me that his manager had asked him to ask me for £5 because we lived outside the 2 mile free delivery radius, which is wrong and in fact we live closer than 2 miles , we checked before ordering, all in all I wont ever order food from Masala Junction again , they are too expensive and I believe they should focus more on taste than appearance.

I had heard good things about this resturant but sadly this is the worst meal and dining experience I have ever had. This was the most bland curry i have ever had. The chicken was tasteless, even the popadoms where bad. When we received the bill they had doubled up on most of the items which made the bill £58 over. There explanation for this is that we had got the bill for the table next to us!(they hadnt ordered the same food as us!). Then with pen and paper he had to ask us what we had ordered when all the orders are taken on a tablet which generates the bill!. When the new bill came it had a £9 service charge WOW. The resturant was full??? If you are considering booking please think again this is over priced bland food with a poor dining experience. You will know the owner he is the one who comes at the end with the card machine and is mask under his chin

Could not see it on the menu as your not looking for the small print and neither did the waiter make us aware of this before we were seated.
