Ideal place to spend evenings. Very calm and quiet with lush green and golden sands. In some places you will see water too during non rainy days. There are snacks shops near the bridge and get some hot bittings from there and enjoy the evening. Please dont put the plastics in to the river.

This bridge across the mighty Bharathappuzha river is probably the longest river bridge in Kerala.It connects Mayannur village of Thrissur district with Ottapalam town of Palakkad district.It is one of the most delayed infrastructure project in kerala.It was inaugurated on 2011 after more than a decade since the work commenced.The bridge and the riverbed beneath is a hangout place for local people. Its a very beautiful place to spend your evenings

Before this bridge was constructed, the people from Mayannur area had to cross the river. I also had such an experience. I walked to the boat as water was stranded at the middle of the river. After boating I had the similar walk to Ottappalam.
