Small menu, two chicken dishes were off, choice of 3 sweets but sticky toffee pudding was off so basically 2 to choose from and this was a Friday night at 6 pm. Main course served but had to wait for cutlery to be provided. Food was good but on the whole experience, poor.

Great pub. Service second to none. Food good value and high standard. Love the outside area. Presentable, tidy, warm and cosy. What more can you ask for?

Had a great first night out meeting up with good friends. Had a great meal in a relaxing atmosphere.

Over priced food, limited menu the burger was nice but the rest of our group didnt enjoy their meals. Definately a locals pub as we were stared at, and our conversation at the bar listened too quite brazenly by the locals... very uncomfortable ! Staff were friendly, sadly that is not enough for us to want to return.

Took advantage of the August deal and booked a table for 5.30pm. Plenty of choice on the menu, though I would have liked to see a salad of some description on there, but thats just me! We had starter and main course, my bruschetta was amazing, husband had the black pudding turine and loved it. Mains, scampi and fries and rump steak, both very nice. No room for puds, but good selection. Table service for drinks as well as food, all social distancing rules in place and followed. Really nice meal in pleasant surroundings, with lovely staff :)

Good Sunday lunch, plate could have done with being hotter as the meal cooled quickly in the side room. Other than that no complaints

Looking forward to first family meal after the lock down, pub lunch, service very poor had to continually ask forks, spoon , sugar list goes on and on they forgot drinks , the food chips undercooked, vegetarian burgers full of peas awful. The burger bun was wet and l was charged full price even when eat out offer was on apparently you have to spend £ 20 ????The manager seemed more bothered about playing golf .

Walked in to a rude reception. Had mask on as required told cant sit at table we didnt want to sit at. Left shortly afterwards. Didnt bother trying the service due to poor reception we received. Have been lots of times previously and its been great. Guess the owner was having a really bad day.

Superb dinner menu in the restaurant, or can eat burgers and other stuff in the main pub. Family run pub that at first sight looks ordinary but its a bit of an inexpensive gem. Back restaurant room has huge french windows and a calmer atmosphere. Love the sea bass and trimmings.Bar can be a bit noisy.

Superb! A good dozen friends and family after a funeral for light refreshments. Nothing was too much trouble, the service was excellent and the quality of everything from the coffee to sausage rolls, was beyond criticism. I had never visited before, but will make a point of doing so on a happier occasion.Hearty recommendation.

Just had Sunday lunch there for 7 of us . The food was amazing and very good value for money we will definitely be going back. The staff are spot on nothing is too much bother. I would highly recommend it

Food was good pub grub and the people serving were pleasant and helpful. The Toulouse suasage gravy was particularly nice and the steak good and cooked as requested. Only let down was that people who came in well after us and ordered well after us were served their meal before us.

Had beef Sunday Lunch yesterday and it was unreal! Absolutely gorgeous. Sticky toffee pudding desert was to die for! if you love licorice you will love this pudding. Staff very friendly, waitress service really good, very pleasant and helpful. Highly recommend

Good food and good drinks, always friendly service too. Burger and pint for £10 on Mondays is great value (home made burgers and real ale!) and pick of the bunch is their 2 steaks and a bottle of wine for £30 on Thursdays. Also dog friendly in the bar area. Top notch!

Really loved the place, beautiful interior, really helpful staff. Our meal came and looked amazing, home made chips & scampi. Unfortunately myself and my friend were both so ill that night with a touch of food poisoning, it must have been the scampi. We rang the establishment to tell them and they were apologetic. It would def be 4 stars if not for this. The food was a little expensive and if not for this it would have been 5 stars

Family run pub with old traditional building with oak beams. Ideal place for a quiet drink. They serve meals also and they do their home made sausage rolls which are really nice.

A very smart, friendly local pub with a lovely restaurant serving delicious food. Sunday lunch last week was great...Roast lamb for Keith an Crispy polenta with wild mushroom ragout for me. We happily award 5 stars!

Went there for the first time today for all were local. Im a total foodie and that was the best Sunday lunch Ive ever had! Will be going there quite often I think now.Highly recommended!

Fully refurbished recently with a new extension, the Spread Eagle offers cracking beer including regularly changing cask beers and superb home-made food. Outdoor seating for better weather and dogs welcome in the bar area. A friendly and historic pub.

I love this pub and the food is beyond excellent. However I was there at lunchtime today and had to leave due to two kids aged about six ruining it for us. They were obviously known to the owners and were running around the whole pub and behind the bar. They were noisy and downright annoying. This went on for half an hour before wed had enough and left.

Attended a wake here. There was loads of food and it was delicious! The staff kept an eye on the food and brought out more when it was needed.

1st visit Iam a visitor from Essex thought the food was great as was the service would recommend a visit .

Had to wait over half an hour but still no one came to take our food order despite having booked a table and shown to it. In the end we left. The place was not busy so Im unsure why there was such a delay.

Slow service and had to wait for the menus to be printed! On a Friday evening at seven 🧐, freezing cold interior with an overbearing fried fish smell, poor food quality especially the pork and undercooked cod.

Asked for a cold bottle of Brown ale. I was told by the manageress they are all cold as they are in the fridge. When she gave me it it was warm, I told her the star on the bottle turns blue when its cold, she asked if I was a beer connoisseur so i told her to get a bottle from the back and the star was blue, I just got a dirty look.Terrible attitude and wont be going back

Veggie options ok. The meateaters liked theirs, just took ages being served and they mistakenly charged some poor bloke for our bill which was def more than his. So we waited while they totted ours up again from memory. Was a bit of a carry on but amusing all the same.

Its ok. The food was nothing special, service was a bit slow and i wouldnt hurry back. Nothing specific to really complain about that much although the cheese board is easily the worst value in anything i have ever bought. Pretty poor.
