My past posts about this place were truthful and not very nice. But a waiter there on my last visit the other day made me a forgiving spirit. The food is awesome here. And it’s vegetarian friendly. I’m used to paying bargain prices at restaurants but the little more here is well worth it.

While I was entering. I was confused if the place is functioning or abandoned. Fancy place. Kinda expansive. But, the food was good. If you a desi food fan, the food you buy from other places for $8 is $20 here. The place is a little dark. and stays empty all the time. They add their tips on the check; weird.

Fantastic location, food and service. Great view of One World Trade Center. Place stays very busy and is used by various tours from India. Lunch buffet is tasty. Friendly staff/manager/owner. Was there to pick up my sister who visited with a tour, staff provided information about tours arrival, etc..

Truly authentic Indian restaurant in Manhattan with reasonable rates. The servers are nice and respectful. The food was great and with generous portions. They even have is complimentary desserts. They did add a default 20% tip to the bill which was odd.

The food I had here was fine, but not great - the samosas were flavorful; the tandoori chicken did not seem to have been marinated with much spice. It was a 90 degree day, and the space was too warm; they didnt include any ice in my water. Aside from that, service was good. I dont normally care about decor, but this place looked run down and was darker inside than I thought it needed to be. It didnt feel very festive.

I visited this place with my team for a lunch and this place is a good bet for Indian food. They have a variety of the menu and the food is delicious. Must try their buffet which i beleive would be served only during lunch hours. Dont worry about spices! They dishes they have are mild and tasty. Good place with affordable prices.

Food is excellent. When Im not feeling like going strictly Keto. It is hard to beat the food. The service and wait staff are great. There are occasions when this place gets really packed. Its a good idea to come there early for lunch to avoid the parade. Food is consistent from time to time and it can be tranquile to eat there provided they are not taken over by such mentioned parade.

Beware of the waiters in the hotel and do check the bill before paying. They cheated me and added almost 50% extra amount in my original bill. Later on reaching home i realized and called them back. Then they gave me explanation that its tip that they added, without asking me. They will behave nice toward you but pls be cautious.

Overall food was very oily, very spicy despite by saying medium spices. On top of it, they have added TIP by 15% by themselves in the bill - this is extortion. I will not recommend to anybody to go to Salaam Bombay - I have been travelling across countries, this restaurant is just a black spot on our Indian cuisine.

Very big room for improvement in a lot of items on the menu. I have personally placed 3 different orders in 3 months and did not like the food every single time.First, I ordered Idli Sambar, Idli looked stale and sambar had nothing but red chilli (extremely hot) and the coconut chutney had gone bad already.Second, I ordered Baingan bharta and it looked like it was churned in a blender wi no taste at all.Today I ordered Dosa & Idli. Dosa was very oily and the potatoes inside it were extremely spicy. The Idli again looked stale. The sambar had no water but plenty of vegetables including Cauliflower which is not supposed to be in Sambar. And there was no coconut chutney.

Amazing food! How is this place so little known? My husband and I stumbled across this place on our way back to our car amongst the other restaurants on Greenwich. It had absolutely phenomenal food and prices that werent $35 a plate. We both got one of their curry dishes, and their spicy shrimp app and was not disappointed. The service was really good and there was great attention to detail.. What baffled me was the place was almost completely dead on a Saturday night? Am I missing something? Or do ppl just not like Indian food? You guys are missing out!

I am a native New Yorker and will keep to the directness of how we are known to be :)Food: Good. I had the lunch buffet special, but nothing stood out as exceptional. It was good, just not a single dish stood out. The desserts were good :)Space: This place is so beautiful. The website does nothing for this place and its interior. The cushioned wooden chairs, copper plates, drapery extended from the ceiling its the perfect place for date nights, business dinners, or get-togethers.Service: The staff is very professional, courteous and provides elegant service.

We went there for a weekday lunch buffet with high expectations. The quality has deteriorated over the years - all the dishes tasted like oil. The chairs are greasy and dirty, and the place seems to be falling apart. Its a pity because they were one of my go to spots a few years ago. Only saving grace is that their jamuns are still amazing!

Food is un noteworthy, prices are expensive ($30/person not including tip), and waitstaff repeatedly pressure you to order more food and drink. They serve you papadum (wafer/crackers) without asking and charge $2 for it. Not a big deal but it all adds up to an uncomfortable experience where at every turn theyre trying to make a few more dollars off of you without giving you anything you actually want.

A cosy place. Nice ambiance. Sadly thats all I liked it there. Has buffet. For $15 the food was sub par. 2 meat starters and 3 vegetarian ones, if you count idly as a starter. Idly for me is breakfast! The meat starters were both chicken. One of them was a bit undercooked. The pakoras were good. None of the curries were good. The lamb in lamb curry was rubbery. Chicken tikka masala was very sweet. Vegetarian curries were ok.The only saving grace was the dessert. Mango flavoured kheer. Just the right amount of sweet.I would have given this restaurant more stars had the buffet been priced at $10 or do. Definitely not with $15.

Service is above and beyond. They catered to me from enter to exit. When I came in the place was empty, and I was a bit worried that there would be issue with the food because the service was top notch. I had the buffet because Im an Indian Cuisine novice and didnt know what to pick other than chicken tika masaala, and I was in an adventurous mood. I tried a little of everything. I dont recall the names of the dishes, but everything on the buffet was tasty to me. It tasted a bit mild for what I would expect from Indian food, but still very flavorful. I will definitely return.

The food was just average (except for the chaat which tasted great) and $16 was steep for the limited choices in the buffet. They had rice pudding for dessert when we entered, but had taken it off within a few minutes. Saag paneer was bland as mud. Naan was served as soon as we started and it was very thick and already cold.We were surprised when the check had a mandatory tip. This was awkward as I have not come across restaurants including the tip as a part of the check itself. In the past when I have had genuinely good food and great service, Ive left more than 50% tip at certain restaurants. This, my friend, is borderline extortion.
