One of my best restaurants I have ever been too, this is my third time there, food is great, tried all dishes of appetizers and we loveem. Meat dishes is so moists and taste delicious. Loved the ambience of the restaurant, and the staffs are so great and welcoming. I would recommend this place to Anyone who is in nyc, Thumbs Up!!!!
I am impressed that Dhaba is one of the few Indian resturants that sells 2 of my favorite Indian dishes which are the roomali roti and bandh gobi aka cabbage subzi. The food was delicious and fresh. I like the safety measures the resutrant has in place for covid. Plan to return again to try other dishes. The customer service was great, but the only thing missing is the waiter needs to come visit the tables more and see if you need drink refills or have other concerns, but otherwise very nice.
The food was very good. My only complaint is that the staff kept coming to the table. They were all nice but it was a little annoying. The cost of the meal included wine.
A big fan of dhaba.Great food and ambiance.Excellent serviceBe back soon
Items were missing from my delivery. Called the restaurant and told them and they said they would send someone over with the items. Still didnβt get anything so I called again after 2 hours - they said they changed their mind and didnβt want to send the missing items to my apartment. Ok - would be great so I couldβve made alternative arrangements, but they didnβt bother calling to update me so I sat around thinking my dinner was on its way. Complete waste of a meal - I canβt eat what they sent me without the missing items.
Their punjabi kadhi is to did for! My personal favorite is veg pakora and punjabi kadhi with garlic naan!
If you eat out as much as I do on this city, you know how pleasantly surprising it is when a place actually meets your expectations. Dhaba does, which is all I ever really want out of a restaurant. The food is decent, the service is competent, and my order was ready correctly and on time. I particularly like the pahadi murgh kabob, the spice is nice and the price is right.
Delicious food, tasty, great service from the staff, good menu and very well organized. Would recommend this place and surely would visit again at any time.
Great food and service. One of the best Indian meals youβll ever eat in nyc.
Thank you Jivan for accommodating a big group the last minute. Delicious food.
Great bread (naan), great curry, lunch special was half the cost than expected, free side of Dahl
We went for our office dinner. The meat and tandoori kebabs were the most moist and delicious chicken I have tasted in NYC so far. That won my heart!!! The rest of the chicken muglai and spicy chiken dishes were soooo good that I took some home. Lamb kebab were okay, but the rotis here were bomb! Great place. Everyone trying to find a good Indian place should definitely dine in here.
Food is amazing .. service is little slow but worth waiting ..
Food is okay, but service is really bad. it is quite pricey and it is not worth as quantity wise. We went 7 friends for dinner, end up paying $280. And our order was messed up really bad. We received an appetizers, all were really nice, then order 5 different entrΓ©es, so all curries came up , but no rotis were bring it to table. All curries got cold , and then Roti and Naan came . They were cold . They even forgot to make 1 entrΓ©e from 5. Also, you have to pay for the rice, they dont serve with entrΓ©e here.Seems like all new staff and they were not polite.Hope you get better experience.!!Good luck.
One of our all time favorite Indian restaurants in NYC, and we have been coming here for 10 years. The depth of flavor in their curries is aromatic, delicious, and really sets them apart. This place should have a much higher rating-there are so many 5-star reviews.
Its a nice indian restaurant in Lexington Ave gives the feel of a typical bar restaurant in India. The food is good and they have a good selection of cocktails as well.
Awful tikka masala , it taste like tomato sauce ,chef should be ashamed to serve it and this guys located in the middle of Indian neighborhood , please dont waist your time and money go somewhere else
I took a party of 13 people there and the service was very good. I was concerned that it would be slow or inefficient, but they took very good care of my entire group. The food was also delicious, which helped make it a wonderful experience for everyone in attendance. We especially enjoyed all of our appetizers, which tasted authentic and flavorful. I would highly recommend this restaurant as a place to go if youβre looking for Indian food in the βCurry Hillβ section of Manhattan!
Amazing food. Amazing customer service. Could Improve on ambiance. But overall very good.
The menu on the website is informative and expansive! Loved the vindaloo, chili naan (spicy!!), kurkuri bhindi, and goat curry BUT the curry was too oily. I had to scoop out a lot. :/
Enjoyed the ambience and the food. Our family had a great time.
Best Indian restaurant in all of New York! Fabulous food. Great service. Everything a great restaurant needs. Completely deserves a 5 star rating. The ambience is very delighting in relation with the mood. The special Dhaba Dal is one of the best Dals ever made. Fantastic and excellent restaurant. Make sure to book a reservation!
We where in Manhattan and couldnt find any good punjabi resturant. Saw dhaba online ordered food and my kids just loved it...all food was cooked in Desi ghee it was so yummy. Never had such a good Indian food in India as well.
Must try one the Paos, I got the classic vada pao which was so flavorful, but they have a different variety of fillings (chicken, keema etc)The chicken curry was pretty much a standard Indian curry
Inside Dhaba is a great-looking atmosphere that is inviting. Offering an expansive menu selection, any type of diet can be adhered to as both vegetarian and vegan options are plentiful. The staff works amazing as a team to provide each separate guest a warm and enjoyable experience. The only small caveat, however, is how loud the environment can be at times. As a side note, perhaps move the full body mirror in the mens restroom. Its placement provides a rather odd view for men.
A very pleasant surprise. Customer service was great β super nice and helpful server whose recommendations were spot on. Tangri kebab was super tender and flavorful, and butter chicken honestly may have been the best Iβve had so far in NYC.
Chicken tikka masala with naan and gulab jamun are always great
Delicious! Delicious! Delicious!I love this restaurant.
Nice staff good veg options
As a price quality of food very poor, never recommend this restaurant !!!
This is some of the most delicious Indian food in the city! The restaurant is unpretentious and focuses on the delicious food which includes a huge variety of traditional favorites. The butter chicken and onion pakoras are phenomenal and the yellow daal is cozy and comforting. Definitely make a stop if youβre in the area and craving Indian food!
Myself and wife went on long weekend night, food is really awesome and delicious .thoroughly enjoyed the rumali roti and chicken curry .
Would absolutely recommend visiting this place. Excellent mood, delightful food, excellent service. Kudos.
Ordered daal makni ,panner with garlic naan and chilly onion naan. Naan was old and chilly naan never came with food. Daal was regular with no makni tadka. Panner bhurji was tasteless. First and last time in this dhaba⦠Bad experience
I ordered Chicken Tikka Masala, Samosas and Chicken tandoori to go. I was shocked about how small dishes were. The chicken tikka masala was passable. The chicken Tandoori was a bit dry and there were only four pieces. For $18 I think they can get more. The samosas were unremarkable. You are not missing anything by passing this place by. Not worth staying in the Indian District.
What a great place this is!!! After hours of walking through the city as a tourist, we were craving some Indian food and this place did not disappoint us! They were serving buffet which was VERY reasonably priced and offered lots of food options.
Totally agree with everyone else saying Dhaba is the best Indian in NYC! It is exceptional. The special dhal is one of the best dhals I have had outside of India. Great service and price! Canβt wait to return :) Thank you Dhaba!
Great food along with great service i mean friendly service loved it and the surprise pack is entire decorations which is so beautiful. Get any chance to visit NY definitely come back agai
Dhaba offers a solid dining experience in a clean environment. The wait staff is friendly and the buffet quality is nice and priced at $12.95. In addition to the hot buffet they serve a few things at the table including hot naan, fried potato balls and tandoori chicken. I wish the buffet included more than 2 dairy-free options, but the staff was great in pointing out what dishes could be eaten and asking questions to the kitchen when in doubt.
Best place for indian food. Must tryππ
Delicious and great service
The samosas were buttery on the outside, just great. The malai kofta was excellent too.
This restaurant has the most delicious food!
Awesome food and good service get more value I spend really β€ it recommended every one have to try.
I ordered out from here and was NOT impressed by the food. The mutton in the rogan ghost was overcooked. Def not worth $20. Paneer malai was sweet and gobi app was ketchupy. Not worth the price.
Solid Indian spot, huge menu, very nice staff, delicious food.
Their pahadi murgh kebab (very spicy tandoori chicken) and baingan da bharta (smoky eggplant stew) are out of this world.
Excellent flavours and presentation. Good diversity in dishes showing the depth of knowledge in Indian cuisine. One of the better Indian restaurants in the city.
Excellent food and very attentive staff
I really loved this place. The bill was decent for the quality. I can see why they have a lot of positive reviews.
Very bad experience yesterday
Delicious Indian restaurant in Curry Hill, and also amazing for delivery. They have an all-you-can-eat lunch buffet that has to be once of the best deals in town. Great selection and a steady flow of freshly baked naan to go with a delicious array of food.
Awesome place there Chicken Tikka is just amazing. Take out only do to COVID. Recommend this place.
Love them! Great food, excellent service wonderful people.
Ordered okra and got exactly what I was looking for - a complex and refined flavor.
I have very high standards for Indian food, cook the standard Americanized curries (butter chicken, tikka masala, biryani) at home at least twice a month. And what I ate here blows anything Iβve ever made at home out of the water. The naan is better than any restaurant Iβve tried, crispy, buttery, and with the perfect amount of burnt tips to contrast the sweetness of the curry. The rice comes with peas and herbs, and a generous portion at that. If you come for lunch, split a curry with a friend and get the naan and rice. They also let us charge a phone and kept good care of us. One downside may be the tap water had an off taste, like very hard water (not normal NYC water), but that is really splitting hairs. I love Indian food, and this place knows what theyβre doing. Itβs worth the transit to little India for a try.
Iβve ordered Veg Biryani and Paneer Biryani, very disappointing.Only filled with masala and a lot of turmeric or food color added. Not an authentic Biryani for veg for sure.Definitely no place for veg Biryani.
In this covid 19 situation glad to say awesome and test of food was great along with service. People what they think at this point but my review is positive and thankful to the management. I have been visit this place almost 9 months back when it was normal and found now same please management team keep maintain same thanks again by the way chicken kalimirch and veg/paneer biryani was great still feeling feed more
Dhaba is a fine Indian restaurant with a relaxing ambiance. Their tandoori chicken was aromatic and excellent.
Consistently amazing food.
Goat Kadai was awesome!
Horrible toilet -.dirty toilet paper exposed in bathroom . GROSS --- Never again
Two days ago was our first time in this magnificent restaurant. But It is obviously not the last. We passed a splendid evening with the excellent service, with the high quality food and wine and with the honest price. We will absolutely return there in a short time.
This was our first experience eating Indian food. We didnβt really know what to order but chose well as the menu was fairly descriptive. While the restaurant was full and therefore noisy the atmosphere was good. The food and service was excellent.
They actually gave me perceptibly spicy food (Chicken Phaal) without a long awkward discussion to evaluate whether I was serious and properly calibrated! (Im not, but not in the direction servers assume.) Very tasty. Strong recommended. The best of Curry Hill lists did not mislead me.
Authentic Indian food.. No compromise on taste.. Come here with an empty stomach.. Do try the roomali roti and dhaba dal makhani..
Food was okay, but the service was horrible.
Absolutely delicious, great prices.
Ive been coming here sporadically over the last few years for lunch with friends. We get the buffet and love it. Im not Indian and am not super familiar with Indian food so I might be easily impressed. But I think the food is tasty. Service is good. And the lunch buffet is relatively priced if not inexpensive considering the area.
Terrible food! Tired Chicken with Black Pepper and it was filled with yougurt. Dalla was tasteless and the worst was Bhaidi Dahee. Service was excelent by new girl who recently started two weeks ago.
Ordered take out and most of the food ordered was delicious! Garlic Naan was huge and very good! Mulligatawny Soup I would skip. Aloo Tikki Chaat (Thelewala Chaats) which are small potato cakes covered in a delicious sauce with chickpeas - this was my husbands favorite! Malai Marke Butter Chicken is chicken in a buttery tomato based sauce and was so good I couldnt stop eating it!
Amazing food.. the first bite took me back to the authentic dhabas of North Indian highways.. Try their aloo tikki chaat and makkhan marke chicken.. Too good..!!
