Good food. Small portions. Not so good service. Not worth the value. This is close to time square and worth visiting for good food. But as fine dining it pretends to be, service is not so great. Food wait time is on high side (we waited for ~20 mins for food) but food is worth the wait. Portions were small. Bar is average as well. You can have better fun times in irish bar across the street.Only thing good here is afternoon buffet which is reasonable and good variety. One can skip this place for dinner.

From walking in the door, to food, to the customer service; everything was five star.We were looking at the place and even though they were not open yet, an employee offered to let us in and seat us. It felt like a family owned restaurant invited us to sit at the table with them the whole dinner experience. The food was incredibly delicious, and we would recommend it to anyone looking to have a great evening with friends at a restaurant in NYC. If you have to get on a waitlist, it is worth it. 👍

Very bad experience.. one of the veg dishes had stone in it which actually chewed on. When pointed out multiple times to the team, including the restaurant manager, there was literally no action. Not even the basic courtesy to replace the dish in which stone was found. Had to wait for 15 minutes to get 2 rotis and spoons were not provided after reminding them 4 times. Food was good but portion size was small. Wouldnt recommend.

Food was okay, nothing out of the world. Also, they say they close at 9.30 pm by which they mean the whole restaurant closes 9.30, you will be pushed out if you didn’t complete your food on time.We reached around 8.20, and we were told we need to order fast as they are closing 9.30. Truly a wonderful dinner. We ordered and shared two appetizers, and both were delicious. One was a puffed rice and mango cake that you scooped and had a wonderful blend of a savory and sweet. We had the bhindi masala and a dal made from blacl lentils that were cooked overnight. Both were seasoned perfectly. Nothing was overly spicy (as in hot with chilis) but the flavors were perfect. The Best Indian restaurant in NYC. They added taste to our three day trip in NYC.We went there for the first time on 15th aug 2018 recently ordered the chicken seekh kabab an they were just melting in mouth. They were so yummy and delicious. They even served green chutney same which we get in the hotels of India. Then we ordered biryani dat was also good. We had a grt experience for the first time. We liked it so much dat we went there all the three days of our trip and tried their lunch buffet which was again very mouthwatering. Their samosa..aloo tikki...tandoori chicken...and evrything watever we tasted in those three days were delicious. The price is on a higher side but its worth it. Wenever i llgo to NYC i ll definitely visit it for sure. God bless the owner and the workers for feeding us such delicious food far away from INDIA my motherland. For a moment i thought i was in India while eating all those delicious dishes. UTSAV is really a celebration of food.

It was my first day at work at the Avenue of the Americas and my colleague recommended this place when I asked if they had any good vegetarian restaurants in the vicinity. The restaurant looked quite modest from the outside and I didn’t try out the buffet at the first level and rather tried the display of buffet for pickup. They had a variety of vegetarian and non vegetarian items and I tried the saffron rice with the Aachari Baigan with Mutter Saag. They offer two out of three to fit the To Go box. They also gave a complimentary Naan to go with. The checkout process was simple and quick and the staff was very kind. The baigan was very good but the mutter saag was out of the world, one of the best tasting mutter saag that I’ve ever had. The quantity was so good that I almost didn’t feel hungry until night. If you are in the 6th Avenue, make sure you try this place!

I went for dinner after attending a dress rehearsal taping of Weekend News Update Summer Edition. As you walk in, there is a cosy bar with soft lighting. A staircase carries you to a softy-lit foyer with the hostesss desk. Seating was prompt, and within 5 minutes, a waitress was over to take our drink and appetizer orders.I ordered the Jaljeera, which consists of roasted cumin and ginger mixed with sparkling water. It was a tasty, fizzy drink, but might be an acquired taste for others.I ordered the sriracha chili-rubbed cauliflower and scallops on top of a cauliflower puree. The chili cauliflower had just the right amount of bite, with a taste similar to sweet and sour chicken. The scallops were tender and the puree had a strong, spicy flavor derived from the hint of masala seasoning used. For my entree, I ordered the Chicken Zaffrin, which is chicken breast chunks served in an almond-cream talkari (sauce) infused with saffron. It was accompanied with basmati rice and a side-salad. The chicken was very delicious; the flavors and talkari made the dish taste very rich.My guest ordered the Chicken biryani, which was served in a silver pot. It was accompanied by raita and creamed spinach. The biryani was generously-portioned and fairly well-seasoned. However, it lacked any hint of spiciness. The creamed spinach was a winner, with the taste being very rich. My guest said it was as if she was eating mashed potatoes. For desert, I ordered the Malawi Kulfi (a vanilla popsicle of sorts). It was served flan-style, topped with tapioca and a sweet fruit reduction.Overall, the service was fast and no-frills. The ambiance attempted to be laidback, but this was marred by the unruly children dining at the time. The food was delicious. This could make a decent date night spot.

But got charged in bill with wrong dish ordered, that even mistakenly described by waiter. The dish we didn’t even ate.5. The food quality is okay. I won’t say it like amazing. The malai kofta was over fried. The rice was cold. If you are tired with trip to nyc and want to sit and eat you might feel better as you are hungry.6. The samosas were also over fried and oily without green chutney. Nothing is complementary here.7. I heard that restaurant in NYC are good. Tried first one and done..
