This is clearly a family owned business, there’s a homey and familiar atmosphere inside the restaurant as it’s filled with joy and the employees knowing people. The customer service wasn’t the best as they weren’t very proactive in checking on us and they’re a bit quiet. However, the food was outstanding! We ordered a lot of noodle&rice dishes, the presentations and the flavouring were on point! I do warn that where it says hot, it means HOT like no jokes. It’s probs like 2x Nandos hot but if you like spicy then I’d definitely recommend. The short ribs on the Special and spicy mixed seafood noodles were amazing, hot, but great taste. Overall, I highly recommend.
There are ample different Korean favour to choose from the menu. Although it is not large enough to hold a big party, small gathering with family members or 5 to 6 friends is still be joyous. Food are tasty as well as the drinks are good.
This is 100% my favorite Korean Restaurant. No question about it. Their food is super fresh and tasteful. Also they bring you a set of sides before you order your food which are all very good. The food this place makes has not once ever disappointed me. This is my go-to place when I want some quality Korean Food. Service is really good and phenomenal also!
A great Korean eatery with a large space and quite a few private rooms for larger groups. We went during the 50% off offer so the restaurant was very busy and thus food and service took a while. The food was great but the BBQ items came fully cooked and the short ribs overdone which was a shame. The fried chicken was delicious and always a great choice. Seafood pancake was tasty but the kimchi pancake had more of a fermented, cheesy taste which we werent fond of.Overall we enjoyed our visit but wished the staff paid a little more attention to their customers rather than rushing in and out of rooms. Sometimes our doorbell sound was ignored.
Consistently great food, been here lots of times. Not an expert on Korean food but Ive been to quite a few KBBQ restaurants and this one definitely tastes best.Unfortunately we do find the service often lacks - staff are usually abrupt and can seem annoyed by requests, even when not busy, especially with guests not familiar with Korean food.
Extraordinary vibes and very amiable service. The food was crisp and delightful. Will surely recommend this spot to others. Reasonable prices and large portions. Great work.
I came here last week. Food was ok, chefs did great job. However the staff and customer service was really bad. They was so rude. They showed us their unhappy face and didnt say hello or bye or thank to us. Even we did that. They looked really annoyed by requests. Ive never been to any restaurant like that. This is also my first time rating bad review. I hope customer service could be better.
Super local joint. Decent barbecue dishes (only tried those cooked in the kitchen), epic fried chicken and beautiful kimchi. Its really clean, friendly service and the prices are fair. Its a short hop (5 mins max) from the station too. Highly recommended!
Tasty dishes, comfortable and good price!
Id never eaten in a Korean restaurant before. My child really wanted to try it after learning lots about Korean food. The staff were friendly and helpful. The food was lovely!
Yummy fried chicken and steamed beef rib, but for others, i feel just so-so.
Nice fish pancake! Strongly recommend. It seems to be some short of staff.
Delicious food. Authentic Korean food. Very delicious.
I was expecting The duck to be prepare inhouse , but it was bought in .service was lacking. But Tempura was excellent. Overall is ok.
Service was not great. Had to repeat asking for water and when the waitress did bring us water she only gave us 2 cups for a party of 4. My wife ordered a mixed seafood spicy noodle, only have 3 mussels all closed, means is not fresh no prawns and only tiny bits of squids. My daughter order chicken noodle soup, only a few shredded chickens. Mixed seafood pancake, only found 1 or 2 pieces of squids, no prawns or mussells, definitely not worth £10. Overall is not worth the money for so little jngredients.Korean crispy chickens are the good though.
I love this place, great people, great food. I always leave happy 👍 thanks guys 👌
Delicious food, seems authentic, well priced and efficient staff.
Went today with the family the service was absolutely amazing and friendly staff the food was equally amazing would recommend and would go again and prices were great too. 👍
I love Korean food and used to frequent Koba in Fitzrovia until a few years ago when they changed management and quality of food dipped. Been looking for a replacement and think this might just be it. We got there around noon when there were quite a few seats available but that all changed within 30 mins or so. We ordered a lot more than we should have, all dishes were great but some were better than others. The glass noodle starter and bulgogi stood out. Service was good and the meal was far cheaper than if we had dined in central London, coming in at £65. We were the only non Korean folk in the establishment which is a great indication of how good the food is.
Amazing food and service. Would recommend the sweet and chilli chicken
Absolutely amazed by this very traditional Korean restaurant. From Barnsley travelled 200 miles down South to see friends and be suprised that such real Korean restaurant does exist in this country, feel like a bit falled into K-Pop enviroment. Will defo come again and introduce to more local Northerners xx
I had a really bad stomach and diarrhoea after eating from this place. Ordered beef bulgogi but wasn’t able cook at the table instead was served on a hot stove plate. Would not recommend this place
[Edit: the waitress gave us a free dish to try which was delicious]Male waiter was too busy clearing tables than take drinks and food order. Was told two bowls of rice was enough for 8... too funny!Drinks did not get served until after the food arrived. They forgot. We ordered plenty BBQ meats for 2 grills, but they only turn one burner to grill the meats. Our table of 8 sat around like plebs and killed any atmosphere.Han restaurant down the road is much better.
Wide selection of thing, not just BBQ, but also hotpot and your usual Korean stuff. I think the fried chicken is the best Ive ever had, crispy, aromatic, flavourful, juicy without being too salty. (this is the first Korean restaurant I tired so dont know about the others) staff is very helpful and efficient. The only thing we didnt like was the kimchi pancake, which was too much dough and overcooked but we enjoyed everything else.
My favourite Korean foodie place for many years and it is still going strong. Difficult to call out one favourite menu; finger licking good korean style fried chicken and table-top BBQ are top notch. If I fancy one bowl dish, sizzling hot stone bibimbab is a winning choice. This place is run by owner who is also a chef who i regularly see him in the kitchen. Most evening they welcome walk-ins but for Friday evening, it is best to reserve table to avoid disappointment.
Great Korean BBQ place on the high street.
The food here is consistently good and service is polite. Prices reasonable especially at lunch time. We love the BBQ dishes and our last visit there was a 50% off promo for pork BBQ which was nice! Waitress was kind and helpful - online menu showed something out of stock, when we enquired she went out of her way to check for us. High chairs available for children too
This use to be a very nice Korea restaurant and I use to be a loyalty customer here. But today when I got here, Im so disappointed by the food and service. Kimchi sides are tasteless, deep fried chicken with honey and garlic doesnt taste like there is any honey nor garlic in plus the carrots in the dish aint cooked. We ask for tap water and they give us cold water in winter... food just doesnt taste as good as before anymore in my opinion.
Delicious Korean food. There are loads of good places on New Malden High Street so theres lots of competition but this is my favourite. Qualitys always consistent and its great value, particularly at lunchtime when some of the dishes are discounted.
Really good food, especially the Korean fried chicken. The service was poor however, had to wait a long time to order and get the bill
Lovely place with yummy food and friendly staff.
Spectacular food at an unbeatable price. Top-ten lunches of my whole year. Unbeatable price and service with free ice-cold water.Consider this: My fiancée is Korean and I am an American, and this meal was the best BBQ I’ve ever had. We also had the Korean classic bibimbap and several complimentary sides—all delicious. Lunch deals before 3 make almost hard to decline eating it again in a row.
Yummy! Cravings satisfied!
Dishes were ok, nothing spectacular.
The food is ok, the staff very friendly. We went there 4 people to try the Eat Out to Help Out, but they charged just 3 people. Asking “why” many time, but still don’t know if it was fraud 😏
Meat is so fresh
Fast service. The food is amazing. Weve already been twice this month and the waitress was so efficient. My boyfriend is obsessed. Will definitely keep coming back!
Decently priced food, but perhaps more expensive than most places. 😌 Enjoyed the traditional side dishes (bossam), which came free with the food we ordered. 😁 Didnt particularly fancy much of my friends food selection but I was happy with the beef bulgogi hotpot with glass noodles! 😆I prefer the marinated BBQ grillmeat at JinGoGae compared to this place though - these were not very flavoursome at all, but rather subtle. 😔 Not a fan of the rice porridge either, doesnt taste like what Im used to but goes relatively well with seasoned meats!
Definitely one of the best Korean food in London
Staff are dismissive, and rude. A man by the name of Daniel (short and was of East Asian descent) put us in the back room. Nobody came to serve us, we asked if we could sit in the front as we wanted to cook our own meat. He said that this wasn’t possible and I didn’t believe that as I saw people cooking in the front! I asked another waitress and she confirmed that you can cook at the front of the restaurant, i asked if we could eat at the front and she said you can go outside and queue. How rude after we already waited 45 mins to be seated. Disgraceful service, would not recommend.
I would not suggest that you visit this restaurant during Eat Out to Help Out. Not enough staff to deal with huge numbers of customers. Staff looked exhausted. Hence the quality of service was inadequate. Staff did not bring us water (maybe just our table) and it took ages to order the food and get the bill. Had to enthusiastically wave at staff multiple times for requests. Food was just average - I could cook better food at home honestly. It was a very hectic experience and I dont think I would visit again any time soon.
This place doesnt deserve any star at all. When I visited today, there were only two tables including us. When I asked woman if she can take order she didnt say anything and gave me very rude look and disappeared. After they taken order the girl didnt even ask if we wanted any drinks and yet again disappeared and I had to get up and ask for some water. Things gets worse, when I was trying to pay the bill the woman who looked like owner said if you pay cash you dont pay service charge and instead BECAUSE WE ARE GIVING YOU DISCOUNT you cant have the receipt Guess what in UK service charge is NOT compulsory!! You dont have to pay. These people are absolutely kidding themselves. I have been this restaurant ever since they were open it gets worse every time when I visit. Things were way better before than now. I dont recommend this place at all.
I must say, this restaurant is an absolute no go! Head of house staff is very rude, accommodating customers is not a priority. There was no welcome hospitality just frowns and finger pointing to show customers the way.Menus are placed on tables indicating that a member of staff will attend to you to take your order but no one did, after waiting for 15 mins we found out (by ourselves) that we had to order from a Q-scan while staff members just passed us by not saying a word.We ordered a BBQ selection of meats, the kimich and another cabbage dish that came as a free side were totally off with a cringing sour taste...I have been to many Koreans restaurants, I would not visit here again nor encourage anyone else to... At one point we had to do the staff members job by telling customers how to order their food.Very bad experience!
Went to this place with 2 of my close friends for a nice meal. It was extremely tasty and I would go there again!
Food was decent, service was terrible. Staff sat around chatting, waiter didnt bring plates or water , made it seem like such an inconvinience when asked for these things aswell as general rude attitude . Have been here multiple times and the food is always good however portions seem to be getting smaller and service worse after each time.Despite the food being good, there are other restaurants nearby that offer better service with equally as good food.Side note: the sauce bottle provided is riddled with black mould on its label. So something to be aware of.
Excellent lunch
Food is absolutely lovely but the service is disgusting! Was made to move to accommodate other Korean families but I am not Korean and was expected not to social distance with a group of people an arms length away. I was offered another table after pointing this out and the table was not even offered to be cleaned! Talk about wanting safety especially in covid times! If there was another restaurant open I would have gone to sit there with my family. Absolutely disgusting!!!!!!
We enjoy hanging out. Yesterday we went to this delicious restaurant which friends recommended to us. We spent a delightful experience there with first-rate cooking and a nice stuff and a professional chief cook. We put this fine restaurant in our list and we shall certainly come back very soon. We warmly recommend.
Great food. Nice staff.
My favourite Korean Restaurant in New Malden, I definitely recommend :)
Great food and the staff were nice and helpful whenever we needed anything. We ordered their Dakgalbi and Omelette rice which were really tasty. We enjoyed the Chive pancake too. Definitely will comeback!!
Stay away for eat put to help out! Very poor service & bad quality of food. We were made to sit in a restaurant office like corner room. Our requests to shift us to outside empty tables was refused twice. No water was served. Went on late Wednesday evening and staff looked exhausted! Every dish tasted bad & was floating in oil (we have eaten good food here before lockdown) and Teriyaki Chicken order was served wrong. When we pointed it out they tried telling it was what the menu said and we showed them the menu had 2 options spicy or soy sauce. But they kept insisting they only make soy sauce one. Finally agreed to replace the dish and brought back the same one with more onions & chilli added to it.
Very good range of dishes, including a cheap lunch meal option. Tables didnt have any dividers between them, but they checked your temperature and limited social distancing where possible.
More interested in numbers than customer service. Was seated for two persons and ordered, however more people entered the restaurant and was ordered (no asked) to move tables to the back of the restaurant on a dirty and uncleared table.Have enjoyed Tami for past 8 years, food is of a good standard (3*) normally, but new restaurant next door where I ended up due to managers rudeness and pushy nature is better. Healthier flavours, recommend The tree Stone much more if youre in town.
Staff was very nice and polite but the food wasnt great for vegetarians. I believe they tried to make vegetarian versions of dishes but it was still a lot to be improved.
A little smile would be nice. Food quality varies everytime I go there. Sometimes the fried chicken is awesome, sometimes its not.
Visited last night and exactly as other reviewers have written, I suggest you find another place during the help out to eat out as the service was horrendous. It took 15mins after ordering our drinks to come which was 2 coke cans and 2 bottles of soju. Forced us to use the app which created more confusion in the kitchen. Brought out wrong dishes with attitude. Not only that weve ordered quite a bit of food and when they told us they were closing at 10:40PM rather than 11PM which is clearly written on their opening/closing times. Will not be coming back. Terrible experience especially when you havent been out to eat much due to the pandemic.
Delivery was ok and soups we ordered is good as always but very disappointed in spicy pork approx 8.50 ish but its more like 5 pound lunch. You need to give more!!!!Cant seem to add photo but its smallest size in newmalden. I know because I order this dish all over the place. Two stars because soups dishes are still good.
Best Korean restaurant in the uk.
Good food but staff not friendly
One of my go-to places to eat. awesome location, clean, and awesome customer service. Keep it up!
Ever thought what would Korean Fried Chicken taste like? If yes then you need to go to Yami! Great food, good service and at a fair price too. The Fried Chicken is just so crispy and juicy at the same time, you can also have it in a variety of flavours. Me and the Mrs are already planning on returning to try the Korean BBQ!
Been to Yami last weekend base on friend recommendation in New Malden! It didnt disappoint ! Taste pretty much like in South Korea! Food is heavily favouring ! Once awhile is fine! For my Mrs she finds is too strong favouring not that it is not tasty! The chicken itself is brilliant when hot after an hour picking it up surprisingly it is still very crispyThe beef rib is very nice but again very heavy favouring! Is worth a come back when Im nearby but not purposefully just for the trip!
Food is amazing
