It is also called as Crown of Srinagar. It is a lovely peaceful garden place. Nature lovers, couples and family anyone would like this place who wants to come away from the busy city life. We have been during summer so during other times it will be a different scene with snow and all. Lot of fountains. This is also linked to Dal lake.

Our last stop in Srinagar Mughal gardens was Shalimar bagh. Though structurally similar to the other two, this garden has a simplicity unlike the others. I looked at the 500 years old ceiling of the hammams and was mesmerized by the intricate designs and beauty despite wearing off.The wooden tiles on the roofs, the stone fountains and the stony benches have still kept their beauty which is time tested. I really felt bad when I saw the glistening stone pillars were crafted with names of locals. The ASI has put forth significant efforts to stop such destruction, however the visitors also need to be more sensible. The government should take more measures to conserve these monuments. The beauty should not go wasted....

Beautiful garden, especially I love to visit this place during spring and autumn. This is indeed a beautiful garden in srinagar city. Last time, while visiting this place no one was there only employees of garden and few visitors .It was because of Covid restrictions and when they saw us with masks and hand sanitizers a proper gear.😃😃 Then they allow us to enter the garden and no doubt we follow all sops.During Covid every moment becomes a memory and different experience like no people , no charm around.P. S :- Such places without crowd is nothing, one cant enjoy and experience the beauty of this place.Visitors are proportional to the charm of any tourist places. 😃

Shalimar Bagh is one of the famous Mughal gardens in Srinagar. Abundance of flowers. Really healthy and big dahlias and roses. Quite well maintained. Beautiful lawns and places to relax. Flowing water and lush green sorroundings. If you wish you can borrow the typical Kashmiri costumes for you and family. And get memorable pictures, at a price of course.Even in afternoon, it was packed with visitors and tourists. Fortunately too big to look crowded.Worth visiting for sure.

One of the best gardensBuilt around a natural spring from the mountains in the background , this would definitely be one of the best gardens in Srinagar, so again its one of the most crowded ones too. Has a long waterpath along the centre , with landscaped gardens at different levels , few shady places where you can sit down & relax for a bit or dip your feet in the natural spring water which runs down the middle, can be done in 1/2 an hour or 45 mins depending on how much time you want to spend there

Excellent terraced Garden. Srinagar has 3 Mughal gardens - Shalimar, Nishat and chashme shahi. Of these Nishat is the best - it is located overlooking the majestic dal lake with mountains in the backdrop. Water flows through all level of the garden. When I visited for second time no one was there. It reminded me of a scene from Alice in Wonderland. Gardeners everywhere. Cutting grass, pruning flowers, collecting the compost etc . It was so peaceful and wonderful. Cascades, fountains and beautiful flowers. Lovely place to sit and read.

Shalimar Bagh is a Mughal garden in Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir, India, linked through a channel to the northeast of Dal Lake. The Bagh is considered the high point of Mughal horticulture. The Shalimar Bagh is well known for chini khanas, or arched niches, behind garden waterfalls. They are a unique feature in the Bagh. These niches were lighted at night with oil lamps, which gave a fairy tale appearance to the waterfalls. However, now the niches hold pots of flower pots that reflect their colours behind the cascading water.
