Shanti Stupa is situated in Indraprastha Park near Nizamuddin Railway Station. It is easier to reach by public transport like bus, metro, cab, taxi etc or by private vehicle. Some works are currently under construction. Day time it is shine beautifull. In night, lights are reflect which increased its beauty. You can move Indraprastha Park also. In Indraprastha Park having canteen, so you can take some more time to see.

The aim of the Shanti Stupa is to create a place of peace and do encourage programs that promote peace and primarily non –violence across the world. The Shanti Stupa was the brainchild of Fujii Guruji, a Japanese Buddhist monk, in 1978 after having received the Jawaharlal Nehru Award for International Understanding by the Government of India. The pagoda is 28 metres high, is built with white marble and has a golden pinnacle. The architecture of the stupa has been inspired by the Sanchi Stupa in Madhya Pradesh and a Japanese garden has been constructed in the area around the stupa.Inaugurated on 14th November 2007 the Vishwa Shanti Stupa is dedicated to people in India and across the world to promote peace and non-violence. One of the hidden gems in Delhi. It is a stupa- religious destination based on Buddhism. It reminds you of similar stupas located in other Buddhism dense places like Nepal, Sikkim etc. Sculpture is great and place is good for photography enthusiasts. Place is not much popular so very less crowded. When I went only 4-5 people were there. There is no entry ticket and you can spend peaceful quality time there.

Wonderful place, located inside the grand whopping Indraprastha Park. The place is full of sublime peace and serenity despite being located on the vibrant and lively Ring Road. Small Buddhists worship place is also located near to it. The place can be visited from sun rise to sunset and is good for family outing, especially for kids.

This place is really good for relaxing. Its very big to travel inside this place. And if you are planning to go there by metro then please take auto or cab from metro station. Only the thing which i didnt liked about there was, the security guards werent allowing us to click pictures from dslr and there were not a single notice of no photography from dslr. Some people even in front of us was capturing pictures from dslr and when we ask the security guard he said only school children pictures are allowed to click from dslr. I didnt understand this logic. And the second thing the canteen or the food court was not at all hygienic the chiefs or staff were serving food with their bare hands (not using any gloves). Some shops were open with food inside it and all the flies were sitting on it. Very bad experience with food court. I just love the nature , air , relaxing feel of there and nothing else.

A beautiful stupa built in 2007, with relics contributed by the Dalai Lama, and from various other sources. The approach to the stunning gold-and-white embellished stupa is through a carved beige stone gateway thats a near-copy of the gateway at the Sanchi Stupa. To climb up to the stupa itself, you need to remove your footwear. Surrounding the stupa are lawns, and further out, gardens that are supposed to resemble Japan - we saw a replica of Mount Fuji - but access here was closed off when we visited. Right next door is a pretty dusty and rusted childrens play area, and a small food court which looked too unhygienic to attempt to eat at. The stupa itself, though, is beautiful.

Ive visited Shanti Stupa in Leh so this Delhi Shanti Stupa is not comparable to the Lehs. Besides this it is on main road so I havent felt the quality of peace which one should feel at such religious place. This is why Im giving it four stars. Rather then that its an amazing place. One more thing, the food restaurant near Shanti Stupa is not so good.

This structure is dedicated to the Buddhist faith and is located inside the Indraprastha Park. In front if it, is a large gate which also holds significance to Buddhism. There is a garden in front of it, where you can sit and enjoy with your family & friends. The best time to visit is during early morning or evening. There is little parking space outside too. Since it is located on the main Ring Road of Delhi, you can also come by public bus. The nearest metro station is Indraprastha.
