Choti Gumti is one of the monuments around the Hauz Khas village area, New Delhi. The surrounding monuments include Dadi-Poti tombs, Barah Khamba, Sakri Gumti, Biran Ka Gumbad,. hoti Gumti is one such monument, purpose of building unknown but beauty it surely holds. Rain lashes and prompted to take cover inside the restaurant Park Baluchi, Deer Park.
A small Lodhi era mausoleum, one cant enter its main domed area as its locked up but entrance to the structure is free and can be easily visited by persons of reduced mobility.Evidence of small amounts of tile work on the roof prove that it was once brightly covered with the coloured tiles of Central Asia mostly of blue and yellow hues.
Choti gumti is just at the entrance road of Hauz khas village. The area is clean not messed up like most other monuments in Delhi. The place is good as a landmark for other good monument of this region. This place is also good in winter outing. Every traveller to Hauz khas village pass through this monument.
When I was kid it was tall building for me.Its maintained by ASI. Now the terrace, doors are closed by iron and bricks gate. I went on terrace once in 90s. You can find lot of difference in its structure between sankri gumti which is opposite to chhoti gumti. Previously it was in original form and was more beautiful.
There is not much about this place to look forward to but the lawn area in this place provides a cool shady place to chill in the afternoon. Many people from nearby come there to have their lunch in the afternoon under the trees.
Good structure. ASI need to maintain this monument. Near to road.
Cute little historic monument on the side of a bustling road, with a well maintained garden. Not a must visit as compared to the iconic monuments of Delhi.
SUFI PLACE
Abandoned monument, although archeological survey of india claims it. Local people use it for their dogs.
It is one of those small little structures of the mughal-persian period dotting the city of Shahjahanpur, near hauz khas village
Located near to Lord Jagannath Temple in Hauz Khas. Well maintained with only a few people around. It is on the way of Hauz Khas Village. It dates to Lodi/Tughlaq period. There are quite a few monuments nearby all which must be visited.
