Around about 1100 steps are there. We can see a beautiful view while we climb up.. It was really good..
Serene environment for morning walk to mysuru godess...
If you do not plan to climb with your slippers on, do ensure you climb the stairs in the mornings or after 4pm. It can get quite hot. Steps are not steep. People of all ages can easily climb. Takes less than an hour
Great way to visit the goddess by taking a treck from bottom of Chamundi hill, covering 1000+ steps....Had seen a huge number of people anointing Kumkum and Turmeric (Haldi) to each steps of Chamundi hill. This is done on every Friday on the months of ashada (A month as per Hindu calender).People start visiting by 4am in morning and gets heavily crowded by noon, food and prasadam is server to thousands of people by Group of Private sangha and temple management.Kudos to the DC of Mysore for making special arrangements for the visitors and treckers by providing Free bus facility, mobile washroom, mobile ATM, security to manage crowd.
God good place for tourists
Holy Shrine
Parking area not clean to be improved by new look
Accessible from the nanjangud main road. Walkable. Place will be too much crowded especially on Friday and Saturday. 1000 steps are there, it takes 30 to 40min for normal athlete to climb
Lot of paid parking space is available.. make sure you dont leave any valuable items as there are Monkeys which look for food and might unintentionally cause damage to your valuables.. you can park without paying though and can be assured that your vehicle is safe.. but prefer paid parking as there is a dedicated place for paid parking and is a bit close to the local crowd and your vehicle is more safe from Monkeys because of them..
Not good
Nearly 1000-1500 steps are there......its fine with friends group...Early morning peoples also visit for jog exercise...Morning morning its really beautiful place
I keep climbing this hill very often and it has, of late, become an addiction. It houses the famed temple of Godess Chamundeshwari ( A Shakthi Swaroopini devi and mythology goes like this - the godess fought the dreaded Mahisha or Mahishasura , the Buffalo demon and vanquished him after a prolonged battle ) Some historian opine that the city Mysuru got its name from demon Mahisha .The hill shrine also house the temple of Mahabaleshwara (Shiva) and Narayana ( Vishnu) It has a pond called Devikere just behind the newly constructed multi parking facility . Development is taking its toll with shops houses and other construction activities going on in full swing.6 months back there s road breach near the monolithic Nandi ( Bull )It now stands repaired with a concrete retention wall It is an iconic hill where the godess happens to be the reigning deity to the royal family of Mysore ( Wadiyars ) .It its also a bio diversity hot spot with its rich flora and fauna .The thrill of visiting the temple and having the Darshan of the devi lies in climbing the steps which is about a 1000 plus .It is a tough climb but a thrilling one at that and it is worth the effort .The month of Aashada sees an unbelievable foot fall to the hill shrine and it is in lakhs .A nice road takes the visitors to hill top whether it be 2 wheelers , cars and buses . May devi Chamundeshwari bless you all .
Very nice experience of climbing the steps ...for beginners it will be tiresome but after climbing you will be very happy to see your journey ...n u have nice view point from here

The Chamundeshwari Temple is a Hindu temple located on the top of Chamundi Hills about 13 km from the palace city of Mysore in the state of Karnataka in India.[1] The temple was named after Chamundeshwarior Durga, the fierce form of Shakti, a tutelary deity held in reverence for centuries by Mysore Maharajas.
