Visit to temple gives peace of mind and builds confidence to face difficult problems including severe illness. What is more ,I came out from illness and became perfectly well all due to the grace and blessings of Gamdevi. Of course, the contribution from doctors also was wonderful.

Gamdevi TempleInhabited mostly by Hindus, it is dotted witheducational institutions and temples.The main temple is dedicated to GoddessDurga as Lilavati a graceful woman. It isconsidered to be one of the oldest templeson the islands, being more than 200 yearsold and has a story about its idol. In 1661Bapuji Mahatre, a Prabhu, dreamt offinding astatue amongst the rocks of Malabar Hill. Heshared this dream with his friends and theybrought the idol down to the village. Lateranother Prabhu, Balaji Bhikaji built thetemple, which still stands.
