My all time favourite restaurant serving absolutely delicious food. Food quality and taste is up to the mark. Their chicken banjara with pink raita and green chutney, chicken kheema tawa biryani, boiled corns snacks, prawns koliwada.. everything is absolute delight. Must visit place to food lovers.

Cheese Garlic naan with Schezwan is the best combo here. Also one must try Paneer Tawa Biryani.

In a locale distinguished for vegetarian South Indian eateries, we stumbled upon a compact restaurant and bar, Durga Lunch Home, not far from Matunga Central station. As opposed to expectations it wasnt dimly lit, with fairly luminous lighting over every table. Being the 50th anniversary of the outlet, they had a couple of goodies, reduced prices on drinks and 5% off on the food bill if you upload a post on Instagram or check-in on Facebook. I opted for the former to avail the food discount. After browsing the vast menu, we opened our innings with a couple of whiskeys, and Prawns in Red Sauce. The seafood was an absolute pleasure, I rank it amongst the best prawns preparations Ive ever had. The succulent prawns, the spicy sauce and the grated cheese all made for one heck of a starter. Up next was Chicken Israel, in white sauce. It was on the sweeter side, so may not be for everyones palate, but I loved it, something of a discovery for me, sweetened meat in white sauce. The capsicum and peppers which garnished the dish were particularly well cooked, as well as juicy. This was followed by Chicken Teriyaki, one of the tried and tested chicken variants, and it was up to the mark. While the quantity was not as much as expected, taste-wise it was flawless, the viscous dark sauce working its magic on the meat. Our final order was Chicken Bullet, a spicy, flaming serving, with a sauce I felt to be very similar to the one used for the prawns. It turned out to be yet another winner, and I was more than happy to lap up beyond my share as my friend was feeling too full to intake anymore. To sum up then, Durga Lunch Home is a hidden gem in, what is a treasure trove, Matunga Central. The fact that its existed for 50 years in an area Ive frequented all my life and yet Ive never even known of it shows how underappreciated it is. Its not exactly inexpensive in my opinion, but you do get a very loud bang for your buck, be it food or drinks. The service is quick and helpful, if at times a touch overenthusiastic. The waiters occasionally stand right next to the table, I hope they are better trained in the future to give the customers their privacy. Also, if some desserts are added to the menu, then this restaurant becomes a one-stop-shop for a full-fledged meal. Im bound to be back soon, to try out the other delicacies on the expansive menu.

A typical Shetty quarter bar. Nothing great about it. The regular food and chakna is good. Dont fall for the fancy stuff.

Good food . The price what they charge,the ambience does not match. Decent place for drinking beer and eating. But would not specifically go there to have food. We normally eat there after playing a match in matunga gym Khanna.

Absolutely amazing food. Can eat their chilli chicken and cheesy chicken for all three meals for a whole year. Have been a customer for 8 years and Durga restaurant has never disappointed.

Please try the pink Raita.And most importantly the pan biryani.Simply amazing.

Visited this restaurant on a Sunday afternoon. The place was relatively empty while other joints and restaurant were flooded with customers.I ordered for Paneer sizzler, but these guys completely dont know to make a sizzler. They took about 35 minutes to prepare something that was uneatable. Ate very little as it was full of oil, could not get the taste of anything except oil. To add to the disaster these people added cheese in rice. Who easts cheese with rice? Yuckkk.Before ordering I had asked them about what all they will add in the sizzler, they made no mention of cheese.Overall, a very bad experience, please dont visit.

The restaurant has taken advantage of the locality. The menu is very highly priced. Being a budget restaurant, they really need to work on the rates. I was zapped looking at the rate card. Restaurant much better than this with good ambience even has reasonable rates as compared to Durga lunch home.

This one is very close to Marunga CR station. This 1st grade restaurant with pleasing ambience, clean and good service. Rates are slightly higher than other restaurants in the vicinity. But crowd is decent.

Durga is local favourite bar in Matunga since a long time . You will find college students here in the evening so the atmosphere is lively. The food is amazing one of the best in the area. Service might be a bit slow though.

Decent place. Not too tough to find. One major negative: they dont give complimentary snacks with alcohol 🙄 You have to buy chakli, daal, peanuts etc. We ate snacks, prawns and chicken chilly. Ok ok. Not great, not bad. Also, tables are quite small.

Its a good mid ranger bar (liquor is neither cheap nor too expensive although food is touch expensive.) and restaurant. Staff is prompt and courteous. Food quality is notch better than other mid range bar & restaurants. Paneer dishes are absolutely delight.

I have visited this place twice. Everything here is expensive for a bar of this type. We tried their speciality that is chicken tawa biryani. It comes with a platter type of tawa , biryani placed on cabbage. Taste is good. Not value for money. They shot lower the price then its worth. Service is top class. Staff is very humble and we got served very well. We also ordered veg Schezwan rice which came with grevy and it was little crispy as they had put some fried noodles in it. Overall experience was good. College ID you get 5% discount. If you check in on Facebook and like or follow on insta 5% more discount. Good but not must visit.

Very much costly this restaurant is he have charged me Rs 300 for 2 egg half fry in Wich one was fully cooked. In RS 300 I will have any one chicken starter in other restaurants similar to this restaurant. Actually we didnt see in menu card the rate we ordered randomly we thought it will be 200 max to max but when the bill arrived we got amazed by seen the egg price. No ambience nothing service is slow. Did like at all. One star from my side.

The restaurant is not cheap but definitely has a good bar snack menu. The alcoho menu is limited but good. Safe place for ladies and group of friends. But poptates is better for binge drinking and fun activities.

Nice cozy place in a suburb where it would be difficult to find a non veg restaurant. Ambience is OK. Menu is elaborate. Food is full of flavour and distinct taste. Prices, personally, I find them to be on higher side. My own feeling was it lacked some warmth. Just saying.

The bar lives up to its name of being a shady bar, but for the ambiance it offers, the alcohol and the food is expensive. Especially the food. Go there for the drinks and order a quarter or above, then its enjoyable.

Great place for a cheap (not quality wise) drink and great snacks with it. Especially recommend the paneer - they seem to make paneer out of cotton, its so soft! Ambience is dark and the place is small, dont take your girlfriend if youre trying to impress her. Its a place where old chums can meet and chat loudly. And gobble down lots of soft-as-hell paneer

This place is less crowded in the afternoon. Good quality food. Sizzling Biryani is something different over here and everyone should try it.

It is outrageously expensive. The Paneer undoubtedly is still one of the best in Bombay. However, the taste is highly ok.

I ordered chicken Chinese rice and noodles which were stinking of fowl birds as if it was raw!!!!! Absolutely disgusting and sick!!
