This is one of the best-buffet-places-you-should-visit-before-you-die kinda place. The ambience of this place is really noticeable and commendable. The setup and the interiors are pretty good. Now lets come to food. Every piece of food that you get here is delicious. Going from starters to their desserts, all of them are delicious and have great facilities flavours in them. Their buffet is supposed to be one of the best in town. Prawns and Chicken Kebabs are the best here. You may even try the A-la-Carte. Service here is pretty fast. You may have to wait for a while during lunch hours.

Contemporary seating & decor, food is north Indian in both veg & non veg varieties. A great part is the hygiene levels of the place & the service staff as well who are neatly shaved & dressed in authentic Indian wear. Valet Parking available & they accept all kinds of cards. Post meal, if insisted by guest, they give some complimentary sweets & paan.

Caravan Serai is mostly known for its lunch buffet. It was a hit and miss affair from our perspective today with some excellent starters and other very ordinary dishes. The mains were a bit better but nothing special. There was quite a spread and plenty to choose from but there was nothing really captivating on offer. They do have some good desserts, the chocolate pudding (some folks call it a mousse but its far to dense for a mousse) was good. They sometimes have schemes like a person eats free for a group over 5 people so thats good especially for office parties. Staff is prompt and quite courteous too.

Had a blast over here with my best friends.They tandoor platter is so so good. We ordered twice. And we will always order it. The flavor is not so sharply smoky but has that authentic char and smokiness and still preserved the chicken flavour too.

Very tasty Buffet.. I tried the veg cuisine at the restaurant and it was delicious. The chaat counter is a bit limited but otherwise we all had a great time with family. The waiters and managers were all so courteous and attentive. I would love to try out the non veg as well, at this branch.

Wonderful Sunday Lunch Buffet with excellent service.

Worst restaurant ever. Cant deliver proper food. Sent delivery an hour late and sent non veg food instead of pure veg. Very disappointing and disrespectful of the managment to overlook such details. Managment is also not cooperative as they arent ready to give refund for the food , have been constantly fighting for refund over a week and still havent got any refund. DONT RECOMMEND THIS RESTAURANT TO ANYONE.

This is one of my favorite Indian restaurants in Mumbai. Cuisine is more Northwest Frontier types, lika Pakhtooni. Food is out of the world. Dal Bukhara, Subzi Punjabi and Dum Biryani must try. Prices quite reasonable.Ambience and overall cleanliness also excellent, very typical, low seats, copper drinking glasses and all.They have lunch buffets, again priced quaite reasonably, with vast variety of tandoori starters as well as deserts.

The ambiance was nice but the value for food was not up to the mark. The service was also bit slow. We only love Fish and Veg dishes, Chicken dish here are waste. The mocktails were full of syrups. Really disappointed.

Caravan Serai in the heart of Bandra Queen of suburbs surrounded by several restaurants is an attempt at providing authentic food from north West Frontier Afghanistan... but sadly failing miserably in reality. We tried both vegetarian as well as non vegetarian menu. The starters or appetizers are very disappointing so are the mocktail drinks, so recommended to avoid them & head straight to main course. Main course is there are some dishes which will marvel you, while some other may disappoint you. You should definitely try paneer tikka, dal tadka & their mutton Biryani which gives authentic feeling. You can try their desserts but nothing exotic or different to write. Price wise I thought it was bit expensive. The service is bit too slow for your liking. Overall go there only if you must.

Well, it is one of the few dine-in restaurants in the midst of bars and cafes.There are times when you want to go out and have good dinner with family. And then you turn to Caravan Serai, No loud music, properly lit at all places.And the cherry on the cake was good Food and quick service. Staff was really polite and helpful.Definitely Recommended 👍

Good thing about this place is that service is quick. And if you order something which is gonna take time, they tell you that it will take time. Not too costly. Quantity and quality is good. Had 2 birthdays hence was a bit noisy, else its a quite place. Better to have advance reservation. Valet available.

Pathetic service.

Went for a corporate lunch here. Caravan Serai offers great discounts for bulk bookings on buffet. Starters and desserts were awesome. My personal favourite in starters was the dish of Fried Prawns. We were too full to have the main course. Even then, the variety in the main course was good. Good service was provided by the staff to all guests. I would love to visit this place again!

Good place for family lunch/dinner. Limited spread of buffet but tasty food.Service is slow and the staff wasnt co-operative. They had to be told multiple times about the requirement. I am guessing they were under-staffed but the deliveries suffered.One can chill with family and friends.

Lots of tasty food so bring a big appetite. We were there for the lunch buffet. They bring a number of different veg and non-veg starters to your table and these can be a meal in itself. The buffet is in different room and also includes soup and a small salad bar. Just when you think you are done, you find the desert options which are in a different room. The deserts are small so that you can try multiple things.

I happened upon this restaurant by accident and was glad to have made that mistake. The non vegetarian lunch buffet is delicious and very fulfilling. The chicken kebabs are simply amazing. While a bit crowded even on a weekday afternoon, the service is quick. The decor is a little dim and cramped but that is not too big an issue. The staff are very courteous and look after your every need. This is a great restaurant and I am definitely going to be back for the kebabs!

Food is good. Service could be better, perhaps due to Sunday rush they were not good. However over thing that stood out. During billing, manager got the wrong card machine and went to get another one with my card. He should have left the card on the table and then gone to get the other cc machine. Again willing to give benefit of the doubt due to Sunday rush.

Menu is pretty nice and so is the taste but the problem is its mostly suited for people who like to grab some alcohol and indulge in some funny chit chat n banter with friends/acquaintances. Not really a place for peaceful eater.

A very very decent place that is right below China gate at waterfield road , Bandra. Its iconic and has been here for years now. With the decreasing options for north Indian food in Bandra, this place solves a lot of problems with good Indian food!

Food is tasty. Mild and not too spicy, although theyll adhere to your requests, if any. A bit small place for movement, but overall, a nice experience.

We visited Caravan Serrai for lunch.. It was a buffet. They serve veg as well as non veg food. They served salad, soup, starters, main course and desserts. The food was good.. I was a part of a small wedding party. Small parties or lunch for kitty parties can be organized here. There also have a bar here.

Located centrally at Bandra the place attracts a lot of people. The place is on the first floor, but its a bit cramped and claustrophobic. The place serves only Indian food both vegetarian and non vegetarian. The quality of food is decent but nothing to go gaga. The dishes served are also run of mill and hence forgettable and neither do they have any signature item. Overall a decent place to go to if you like having Indian food. The service was a tad slow but then so was the crowd.

A great place to have food. The chicken tandoori is a must try. Its different from the usual red tandoori chicken but has a great flavour of spices and none of them overpowering one another, just in harmony. The food quality and taste is also very nice. The biryani is also nice and very flavourful.

Was at Caravan Serai just now for a lunch buffet. Was politely asked to vacate table immediately after eating as there were other people waiting.I was there to meet an old friend. Had to cut short my conversation and leave. Not done. Would have been better off at Cafe coffee day. They dont ask you to leave. Not going back. Thank you

The place has decent ambience may get crowded at weekends. Food is good. Although we had a buffet arrangement at a fairly reasonable price the quality of the food was not compromised. Parking is not available though.

Buffet system is good, but not best. We ordered buffet for 6 and the bill was for only 5, 1 complimentary, the food was not good as per the value, they served the food very slowly and even the main course was not as good as we expected, they even offers cake on behalf of someones birthday on advance Booking, the waiters are very kind and polite.

The Raan-e-pukhtaan , dal makhani are 2 must haves.. but take a bit of time to get.. so order a light starter till the wait. Parking, getting off at the junction is chaotic though.

Pathetic dangerous place to eat. Be ready for a visit to the hospital. They served us Raw stale chicken not once but three times they have cockroaches running in their restaurant and they charged us for the meal even after we returned every dish that we ordered. The owner of the China Gate group has either taken a hike or is making his staff run the place. Only if our country would have some food inspection these guys would be shut by now. The people I visited with.. One of them has gotten a bad case of food poisoning and is hospitalized.

Came here for indian lunch buffet. Very good staff service with the starters (delicious and filling). Main course had a good variety, unfortunately my stomach was full from the starter and didnt get to try everything. But worth going here again when I visit Mumbai.

I loved the Caravan serai at Andheri but the outlet at Bandra was not a good experience. Although on phone while booking a table prior it was confirmed children will be charged 50% but on the bill children were charged 100% . One of the deserts were slightly stale too In short not impressed with the outlet at Bandra

This place was good once upon a time. The food is average. The price is exorbitant.The hygiene is lacking. The waiter was using some kind of spray while we were eating.All in all one of the worst dining experience one can have.

The place is good. The interior is good. Family friendly restaurant. But, everything has pros and cons. Their service is very slow. It took 1 hr for them to literally bring the main course and it was very tiresome. Restaurants need to know that even in the rush hour they should know time management . The service was slow. The cost is high based on their quantity, but okay. Taste wise it is nice. Its just that the staff used to listen but we had to tell them again and again and then they will bring. They didnt even serve us finger bowls and refreshments. The restaurant has such a name but it has lacked in the service which they have to offer to their customers and also, they should offer good service for those also who didnt reserve and not just for the one who has done it. The slow service and forgetfulness has disappointed me and other people . We all came literally from Town , travelling in such a traffic , here, at bandra and all we got was slow service and no refreshments. The manager was good to us. Really was expecting more than just good food like good service and co-ordination. They didnt even serve us, but had let it go cause of the situation.

I have visited Caravan Serai a few times before. The food and ambience is really good and totally value for money. But the service was a slow, especially the starters served on the table were coming painfully slow. Other than that it was a good experience.
