A quaint little café in the heart of SoBo, Sleight of Hand is warm and unpretentious. Has a limited menu considering they cant cook on premises. But, the assembled eats likes sandwiches and salads are wholesome and made with good quality ingredients. The space gets brownie points for being pet friendly! Definitely try the hot chocolate and the iced mocha. Founder Aadore Sayani is a master at desserts and all things chocolate.

I have been visiting everyday since Dec 2020. The lovely team of Sleight of hand, the different varieties of drinks and food, and especially their signature brownies are worth trying. Best brownies I had till date. Worth spending hours and hours at this beautiful cafe. Also meeting new people everytime, it gives you home like vibes. Wonderful place to check out.

Love, love, love going to sleight of hand. Wholesome breakfast bowls, yummy salads and sandwiches and the most chilled ambience perfect for breakfast/ lunch/ dinner or just coffee and a dessert. In the quiet lanes of fort, nestled in a few green trees is this hidden gem where you can spend hours sitting finishing work or hanging with friends. Great coffee and some feline company who can be bribed with the paneer and/ or cat food on sale.

Extremely pleased with my experience of this cute cafe that’s hidden away in the lanes of Fort near JB Petit School. Had their house chicken salad which was delicious & filling. Their Iced Americano was superb too. What I appreciated the most about the place was the personal involvement of Aadore (she runs the space). We had a pleasant chat & she was even kind enough to mix my salad for me. A level of care & personalized service I was impressed by. Their menu may be limited but the attention to detail on the food impressed me & I’m keen to return someday & try more of their stuff.

Of Brownie Batter and MagiciansPicture this: you venture into a furniture store with a delirious hunger pang (read: intense brownie craving), half-expecting to be turned away due to lack of confectioneries only to be greeted by the warmest baker in town with the brightest smile. Not only did I leave with my full stomach and happy heart but also found a new brownie pit-stop and made a lovely friend!Sleight of Hand, fitting to its name has a wonderful magician, Aadore Sayani (and her efficient and courteous team), who will take care of your sugar cravings with brownies, hot chocolate and charming conversations. Tucked away in one of the quaint alleys of Fort, Sleight of Hand is a little confectionery store that beautifully blends with the old-world charm of South Bombay and boasts an extensive range of brownies, chocolates, biscottis and cookies. As of today, the space is constrained but the warmth of the staff and the delicious spread will certainly make you come back for more!During the animated conversation with Aadore, who is the owner of this little treasure trove, I learned that Sleight of Hand is an establishment that has been around for 17 years and all the sugary treats are a combination of her grandmother’s ancestral recipes with a hint of her creativity. Perhaps that’s why both the chocolate delights and the vibe of this place is of warmth, comfort and love.Pro tip: Ask Aadore about her journey from advertising to baking and you’re in for a bonus treat!Coming to the main attraction of the place: the desserts! Here’s what I tried:1. Just ChocolateI finally got around to trying their signature brownie, which has stood the test of time...and now I know why. Warm, gooey and chocolatey, the core of this brownie is moist and spongy. The top crust is slightly crisp which gives the perfect finish for this brownie. If you’ve had lovely homemade brownies as a child then get ready for the rush of childhood memories to hit you once you dig into this chocolatey wonder!2. Short bread ChocolateI’d like to call this creation a reverse biscuit brownie. Usually you’d find the crumbly crust as the base but this little brownie comes with a solid biscuit crust on top. This combination of crunchy biscuit crumbs and dense chocolate brownie is a unique blend. I had this brownie cold which worked well with the warm Just Chocolate brownie but the same can be had warm. This brownie is different and is worth trying if you’re in the mood to experiment – I’m a fan of warm brownies so next time, I’ll be sure to try the warmed up version of this little gem.Bonus Trials:It’s not every day that you meet a patisserie owner who not only indulges you in lively dialogue but also spoils you with a string of desserts tastings. Here’s my take on the bite-sized delicacies:1. Hot ChocolateThis divine beverage is an absolute must try! Their signature hot chocolate comes with a complimentary chocolate spoon which makes for a beautiful combination. The Hot Chocolate, true to its name, is a preparation of melted cocoa with the taste of sugary goodness! The consistency is light but wholesome and you probably will crave for more.2. FlorentinesThis was the first time I had tried a Florentine and I absolutely loved it! This wafer-thin delight is a real treat for chocolate and almond lovers. The melt-in-the-mouth chocolate topped with crunchy almonds works really well together and would highly recommend this.Whether it was the warmth of the people who built this patisserie or the heavenly taste of the sweets treats that won my heart, I really cannot say but what I do know for sure is that Sleight of Hand is a place worth visiting for both its desserts and its people!

Its a very aesthetic place. They sell products like cookies, biscotti, brownies, and hot chocolate on a stick. There is also seating, and I saw people using their laptops, or carrying out meetings.I only tried the brownies, and I have to say that it was the best Ive ever had. Highly highly recommended. The quantity is small but you will relish every bite. There was also stuff for sale, like paintings and a sofa, if youre into that.Must try the brownies here. I cant wait to try more!

We tried the hot chocolate, the bournvita biscotti and Pistachio cranberry biscotti. The biscottis were nice, the second one did not have any clear hints of cranberry. The place claimed to have the best hot chocolate in town and was quite delightful but was made of hershey’s syrup with hints of bournvita. The service was quick and the manager was very interactive, enhancing the experience of the customers.
