We had the Sunday brunch here. Loved the food, enjoyed the music, elated with the friendly staff. We sat at the bar as we didnt book a table before going. But have to say, that was the best part. The bartenders recommended the popular dishes from the menu and we were delighted. Brilliant Sunday brunch. Do book your table in advance.

Foo is home to one of my favourite Baos in town (and of course, them sauces). The Sushi and dumplings are as authentic as one could get and the rice beer was a pleasant surprise. But the thing that makes me give this place a 5-star is the sheer consistency in every dish on the menu, time and again.

Tried asian food for the first time and this place made it a very memorable experience. foo has a carefully curated menu and has a lot to choose from. the drinks are amazing too. the ambience is very chill and amazing.Although did encounter a little issue during the dining experience. they have a two hour reservation slot and after two hours, you will be asked to leave, which is not cool. The food was delicious and so was the entire experience.Must visit asian place in town

Food: 7/10Ambiance: 9/10Service: 7/10Value for Money: 7/10Weekends have been all about gallivanting in search of something new and exciting & this experience was no less. My cravings to try something Asian brought me to this quaint space in Powai popularly known as Foo.In the frame, we’ve got,1. Spicy Seafood Peking Dumpling – A pleasant mélange of assorted seafood encased in a carefully prepared Dumpling wrapper. Is it spicy? The answer is No because you would expect some form of heat tingling your tastebuds. But it sure is delicious. The umami mouthfeel seafood paired with the array of dipping sauces is something you just can’t get over.2. Nikkei Prawn Tempura Uramaki – A play on textures is what was evident on this plate. However, any sushi connoisseur would easily figure out that the rice lacked balance between the sweet, salty, and sour and tasted a touch bland. The tempura prawns were spot on. Light, Crispy, and tasted Ocean on a plate. They paired this with your usual pickled ginger and wasabi but not so usual chimichurri mayonnaise and coriander oil which was a pleasant twist on a Japanese classic.3. Spicy Hunan Baby Chilly Potatoes – Morish is the word I’d use for this beauty. Crispy on the outside, soft, and fluffy on the inside. These babies were an absolute hit. The balance of the sweet and spicy with the textural elements of sesame seeds & scallions. The plate was wiped off in minutes.4. Red Snapper, Oyster Sauce, King Chilly – Unfortunately, this was once of my least favorite dishes. The fish tasted bland, the broth felt gluggy, and it wasn’t enjoyable to say the least. Maybe this is a dish the team can work on getting better.5. Assorted Mushroom in Veg Oyster Sauce – Mushroom Meat. Patato Potato. I don’t think one can ever go wrong with the shrooms. They’re literally THE FLAVOR BOMBS and they were treated no less in this dish too. The mushrooms were the star of the bowl and the broth accompanying it just elevated the dish to the ultimate food heavens. It was the perfect big plate for our rice.6. Foo Blue Butter Japanese Fried Rice – Art in a bowl. This plate is a masterpiece on its own. The bright blue color in the rice is obtained from the Butterfly Blue Pea flower also known as “Asian Pigeonwings” and it’s tossed with Baby corn and your usual fried rice elements making it the perfect accompaniment to your big plates.7. Foo Black Marble Sesame Cheesecake – 3 WORDS. OH MY GOD. This dessert was suggested by the bartender Romario and he quoted that I wouldn’t regret it and kid you not I didn’t. This has been the best cheesecake I have tried. Just the right amount of sweet to end this beautiful meal. The Bar menu is exciting. The twist of classics with an Asian spin sure tickled our tastebuds. Romario the Cute Bartender I quote ensured we were suited to the best cocktails in his menu and the craftsmanship was beautiful. All in all, I would definitely recommend this place if you want are in the mood for an Asian Oriental experience.Picture Credits - Dipak VishwakarmaInstagram - @trending_twenty

Loved the wait at the bar. The bartenders were super friendly! They were conversational, shared tasters, explained the process of some special drinks.. It was a amazing experience. The food was great, so was the presentation. A great place for trying sushi, try their special cocktails and overall, take their recommendations.Note: There is wait time during peak hours, cause they dont hurry the experience. Its worth the wait, but would recommend booking reservation if possible.

Visited on 29th Aug for lunch along with family. Valet was available and thus parking was not a problem. The restaurant is located one level up and the place looked under construction. We reserved our table before visiting as we were a family of 7. But on reaching we realised the restaurant was over booked and in a state of complete anarchy. Hordes of people standing and shouting but to no avail. We spoke to the staff and realise they have no clue of when they would be able to allocate a table and every 10 mins requested for an additional 10Mins. Thus we left.Otherwise the view looks awesome and the restaurant quite classy. But with such mismanagement I am not going back again. I rather want food than Foo

Yesterday i visited Foo for dine in, must say, i liked the ambiance, it was good and decent for a fine dine and the cherry blossom tree gave me that japanese vibes so that section was pretty romantic as well, can come on a date night too! A good pan asian restuarant serving great food.I had the foo 5 course set menu for my lunch, started off with my Hot and sour soup which was nice and thick in consistency with much of tofu inside, i liked it. Also had the thai me up salad with all lotus stem, edamame, corn and raw papaya, salad was too refreshing!Coming to sushi and dimsum, i had my favourite wasabi, truffle and edamame dimsum which has to be fantastic to me and it was no doubt, infact the Nikkei Avocado Uramaki was too good too, it was just avocado and parmesan topped with avocado slice too! Along with sushi and dimsum, had some drinks too! Rohan, the bartender there suggested me Creme Pablo and a sweet mocktail fantasy island which had lychee juice, almond orgeat and lime juice. Mocktail was too good and refreshing and so was the cocktail which he made, Yuzu Negroni with Gin, basically twist to the classic Negroni!Coming to Mains i had their Foo blue butter japanese rice along with silken tofu in black bean sauce! The gravy was thick in consistency and good, infact the tofu werr too soft, silky and mouth melting and so was their fried rice! Blue color is basically from blue pea.Lastly we had Black sesame cheesecake and Snickerz. I never wondered the sesamic flavor in cheesecake but this was just amazing and a must have. I loved snickerz though as i am a great caramel lover!Do try their Foo Japanese rice beer too!

Foo PowaiAn attractive restaurant with beautiful seating area and amazing vibes for those cool Mumbaikars. Foo offers a delicious Japanese spread as a part of its Pan Asian menu. Foo also boasts a comprehensive Sake and collection of signature cocktails to complete the experience.Foo has a really comprehensive food menu and it gives you ample choices. I have opted for their Best of Asia Set lunch menu. We had Shisoto Charcoal Tempura Uramaki, Nikkei Avocado Uramaki, Nikkei Prawn Tempura Uramaki and California Roll. Basically two Veg and two Non-Veg Sushis. Loved each of the variants specially California Roll. The Dim sums came next- The Dim sums were different. Spicy Seafood Peking Dumpling was fabulous and Wasabi, Truffle and Edamame Dumpling needs a little getting used to.We have also tried Crispy Spicy Thai Lotus Root – The flavor was delicious. Finally, in Mains we got Foo Yellow Chicken Curry with Blue Butter Japanese Fried Rice. The combination was worth trying and to die for.In desserts we had Hazulnut Dome. It was incredible with a beautiful presentation. Also, we had two cocktails Foo King and Mrs Robison which was lighter in side in terms of alcohol but aesthetically presented.Overall, a new Mecca for food enthusiasts which you must definitely try.Food: 5/5Décor: 5/5Service: 5/5Value for Money: 5/5P.S: The review is strictly depending on my personal experience.

Foo at PowaiAmbience- 5/5Service- 5/5Food- 5/5VFM- 5/5Overall- 5/5About the place-Foo is one of our favorite restaurant for Asian food. After visiting Foo town & BKC , we thought to visit Powai outlet. Located at 1st floor Kailash Industrial estate, Powai just 10minutes away from Vikhroli station. The ambience is chick & breathtaking, the colors, lights, match perfectly. There are different seating arrangement for couples to big group. The service by Mr Shivam was amazing. We didnt have to wait long for out food to arrive. It was quick & he helped us selecting the right dishes. On his recommendation we tried rice beer for the first time. We loved it so much we ended up ordering one more.Coming to the food, they have Asian set lunch from Mon to Sat at 12pm-4pm at Rs 695+ taxes ( excluding drinks) . For those who want to try out how Asian cuisine is, then you should opt for this set lunch which has all the varieties to select from, right from Sushi to Dimsums, salad, soup, mains & dessert. Let me also tell you Jain options are also available.DRINKSRice beer-This is made in house & its their one of the speciality. Made by fermenting rice. It was not bitter at all & one of the best beer we have had. Highly recommendedSpanish G&T-A cocktail made with beefeater gin & tonic water infused with rosemary. It looked fabulous & tasted good. A must try. From Set Menu we hadMiso soup- A must try soup made from fermented soya paste with cubes of tender tofu and spring onions. This is our favourite.Shisoto Charcoal Tempura Uramaki- This Sushi roll consists of Avocado, Shisoto tempura with activated charcoal in it and has Chilli crisps on outside. It is served on a bed of sauce full of flavours and activated charcoal. A must have over here..!!Wasabi, truffle & edamame Dumpling- If love flavour of truffle then this is a must have over here. The combination of wasabi, edamame filling along with truffle really goes well. Highly Recommended..!!Foo yellow curry, water chestnut, broccoli with foo blue butter Japanese fried Rice-This is their signature dish so we decided to try out the blue rice instead of noodles. The coconut curry was thick, creamy & tasty with all the vegetables inside making it a healthy option along with blue rice ( no colors added)Highly recommendedSnickerz- (Eggless)A dessert you cant miss upon. Made with caramel, peanuts ,nougat, & milk chocolate. It was heavenly for all dessert lover. Highly recommendedAla carte (Jain)Foo hot & sour soup-It was made with vegetables like broccoli, zucchini, & tofu. It was thick in consistency & wasnt too spicy. RecommendedSuper foo Salad-One of the best berriclicious salad to try as it has all veggies like lettuce, Avocado, strawberry, cranberry, blueberry, seeds, edamame, cherry tomatoes & honey dressing on top. It was good to taste.Farm Vegetable Gyoza-They were steamed & shallow fried. If you love Gyoza you should try this oneNikkei Avocado Uramaki-A must for those who love Avocado UramakiOverall it was worth visiting Foo Powai

Foo mumbai located in a cute little hillock at Powai has the most brilliant location. Not just does it overlook half of powai but its also got the peace and serenity that comes along with seclusion. Theyve got a beautiful seating area overlooking the outside and a really well decorated bar.First up, one thing that I couldnt help noticing was their brilliant service - theyve got the most amazing, polite, courteous and welcoming staff and management who ensure the best treatment. We had Mr. Swapnil who was hosting us this afternoon and he ensured that we felt extremely comfortable, at ease and welcomed. And we could see the same courtesy being passed out to people on adjacent tables as well. Felt really nice as this reflects the truest sense of hospitality. We tried the 7 course Asian menu being served all weekdays and Saturdays for lunch. This was at 695 plus taxes. The Asian set menu was great - it has been developed by their chef who is Malaysian and hes done a lovely job with this. Most of the dishes are so brilliant and made in such a way that even if you dont consume meat its definitely not something youd miss. The flavour in the individual dishes itself is brilliant.Heres what they serve:1. Soup: the soup that we tried was a chicken laksa soup and a hot and sour veg soup. The laksa soup had a coconut base, lots of exotic veggies and packed a punch. The hot and sour soup was loaded with little chunks of tofu and its literally the first time that Ive had a tofu that tastes this good.2. Salad: for the salad we tried the Thai me up salad which had lotus stem, glass noodles, peanuts all basted in a sweet and sour sauce and served cold. It was just brilliant. The crunch of the lotus stem was a great combination with the tanginess of the sauce.3. Sushi: there were 4 options available but we tried 2 of these. A California roll which was superbly well made and a prawns tempura sushi roll that was another very well made one. We really loved the freshness of the dishes.4. Dimsum: we tried two different types of dimsum. The charcoal Har gao dimsum had a prawn and crab stuffing in a paper thin dumpling cover. Really flavourful. The Sriracha chicken dumpling was another wonder with a really flavourful inner filling and a soft coating. The tonnes of flavour in the dumpling was a constant across the two.5. Mains: we had some lovely Maine from the menu. Their signature Japanese butter blue fried rice was stuff dreams are made up of. It had a really subtle flavour and a whole load of exotic veggies. The yellow curry gravy was a great accompaniment to this - it had a blast of flavour, was thick and creamy with a strong coconut flavour. The red snapper gravy was really great as well with very soft chunks of fish. The Hakka noodles had a tonne of really nice flavor and was great.6. Dessert: the dessert here was the perfect end to such a brilliant meal. The sesame cheesecake was soft, goeey and creamy. The ice cream was great to cut the richness of the dessert. The snickers was a replica of the chocolate with chocolate mousse, a hazelnut cream and loads of chunks of peanut. We loved the richness which was super satiating.7. We also tried a foo rise and Thai grass drinks which were really refreshing. These are paid for outside of the set menu. They also serve an in-house japanese rice beer which is great. We loved the food and it was definitely stuff to come back to along with the service, the quality and the value for money.

The food was delicious moreish , presentation was beautiful. The cuisine featured at Foo Mumbai is “Nikkei” which is a blend of Japanese and Peruvian cuisine. The word “Nikkei” refers to the descendants of Japanese people living in different parts of the world outside Japan. The food therefore often contain Peruvian ingredients like Aji , corn ,potatoes ,spiced with Aji Amarillo peppers apart from the umami flavors imparted by Japanese Miso, wasabi, rice vinegar, soy etc.

The food here is typical Asian food. Nothing wrong with it. Its tasty, presented beautifully and fun to eat. The food here is slightly more honest to Asian preparation methods and ingredients. The Ambience was good again nothing experiential but good for a regular and safe evening out. The approach and parking needs a lot more organising and work. The value for money I would give it 3 stars. An ok place in terms of value.Service was good but was very dependent on the server serving the table. Dont think theres a company standard, which if absent they do need to create.Overall good for a casual evening out with family or friends. Also recommended for people who do not like to experiment too much. Safe and casual eating experience.

Foo is now in Powai and I’m glad to announce that it’s unchanged & absolutely worth it! In the past few years, Foo has managed to get a hype for its Asian food, authenticity & their fine dine experience, and no kidding, it was all worth the hype!Ambience: The interiors are so good here, it has well set tables with beautiful sakura, candle lights by the night, chinese lanterns & cosy sofas. They have a widespread area that can easily accommodate many people at once!Food: I tried a bunch of things here -SALAD:Super Foo Salad: A wholesome green salad, with kale, lettuce, fresh strawberries, avocado, cherry tomatoes, goji berries, quinoa & flax seeds with a Yuzo Miso dressing is fulfilling & hearty!SUSHI:Nikkei Prawn Tempura Uramaki: Tempura prawns + avocado + chimichurri mayo was so subtle in flavours & absolutely worth having! Go for it undoubtedly!!Nikkei Avocado Uramaki: Sushi with something different than the usual, this one comprises of avocado, Aji Amarillo sauce & parmesan is an absolute bliss when dipped in authentic soy.Shishoto Charcoal Tempura Uramaki: This sushi was coated in filo, stuffed with tempura, avocado & spicy sauce. The combination was uniquely delicious!DUMPLINGS:Crystal dumplings: See through dumplings filled with veggies, steamed to perfection. Also, they look damn amazing!BAO:Foo Bao: A super amazing bao (the outer coat was so soft!!!) stuffed with mushrooms & pepper. The combo is so good, that it’l take your tastebuds to another level!APPETISERS:Daikon Raddish Cake: Super palatable raddish cakes with whole lot of burnt garlic & chillis. YUM!!Nikkei Taco Lotus Stem with guac: As the name suggests, crunchy taco shells with a delish stuffing of lotus stem & guac, can never go wrong!MAINS:Thai lotus root with water chestnut & hot bean sauce: Name of the dish pretty much speaks for whats inside this spicy, gravylicious dish. Best enjoyed with any fried rice!Wok tossed Cantonese greens: Green veggies (brocolli, french beans, edamame, zucchini) in wok tossed style, with zingy garlic chilly flavour.Japanese blue fried rice: Fried rice with tasty blue pea flavoured rice is exceptionally good and absolutely worth having!DESSERT:Foo black marble sesame cheesecake: Cheesecake with sesame flavor, in & above the cheesecake, served with an icecream scoop! One more Pan Asian Restaurant in similar lines with Yauatcha, Chin Chin Chu, Sesami- specialities being Sushi Uramaki Dimsums etc... As a family we enjoy Asian food and are always looking forward to Dimsums sushis and the likes. While the food was not bad we had a “not so good “ experience with a staff who was attending our table(guess it was our bad luck). This over enthusiastic person spoke with full confidence and forward the cocktail menu and gave us some choices and also tried to override my choice by replacing the gin of a premium quality. After finalising my choice I was told that they wouldn’t serve cocktails as it was a dry day! Which was understandable but my question was shouldn’t the staff be made aware of this?? We selected the Blue Butter Japanese rice and we asked the person whether two portions would work out for 3 hungry adults? His response was that we go for 1 portion as we already had starters. Guess he didn’t realise that we had good appetite. Anyways since we were not too confident of his advice we asked him the time that would be taken to get plain steamed rice in case we felt that the blue rice was not sufficient. He said 7 mins and we were ok with that. The blue rice did fall short between the 3 of us and we had to ordered the plain steamed rice as expected . The black marble sesame cheesecake was finalised for dessert. I asked them very clearly whether it was a baked or non baked cheese cake. We were told that it’s Baked but when the Cheesecake arrived it appeared to be the non baked version which I do not like. The staff simply apologised saying that he was new and this would never happen. Foo management you peopl need to train your staff and let them know that if they’re not sure of something they should atleast consult a person in authority and then give the correct information to the customer.
