Great place to watch a drama. Nicely lit and comfortable seats.Acoustics are poor. For a play they dont matter but then for a music concert, sounds get shrill.The hall is right in the centre of the city and easily accessible. Has a refreshment stall inside on the second floor.

A nice theater with large audience capacity.Well Maintained & clean green rooms & backstage.

It has stood the test of time. Even though the auditorium and the surroundings have been upgraded, it still oozes an old world nostalgia.The seats arent all that comfortable, with a most having less cushioning. If you are someone sitting in the second half of the audi, the voice may be slightly off to you.The stage as such is quite big and the performers have enough space to bring depth into their performance. The ever helpful staff over here is quite old, not just in age, but also in their experience.One of the best thing is that they have ample washrooms, which are clean. Intermission can be a chaos, as the canteen space is quite limited. It gets pushy, if you aint first few in the queue.Overall, its a decent experience to watch plays over here. Also, its location makes it accessible from Dadar and Matunga Road.

Nice place. Few places which stage marathi dramas.The show started almost 20 mins late and that was discouraging.

It was all good and merry Untill a rat ran over our legs in the first row and went on to the stage.

Size is big. Great for events. Staff is not courteous. AC was good. Sound system was great too. The walls are donned with portraits of legendary marathi artists including Laxmikant Berde. Canteen is available, but potato wada and sandwich were the only items with tea. Toilets are clean. Location is good too, walkable from Matunga Road or Dadar on the western railway.

Its centrally located in Matunga very close to Shivaji park,Dadar.Auditorium is not very big,seats are old ,sound system is ok.Rest rooms are clean ,the whole place needs renovation badly.!

The place is provides a good platform for dramas particularly in Marathi Language. Even dramas in different languages do take place here. Apart from drama one can enjoy, other cultural and entertaining activities like music concert, magic shows and even seminars. It can accommodate huge crowd with spacious audience area along with balcony.There is an in house food facility during intervals. Parking is available with limited number. Easy and quick booking facility and even they offer to book shows in large crowd.

Went to see the Asian movie festival over here this year. Always wanted to see the play but havent got a chance yet. Nice old theater. Ill visit here again next time for sure.

Nice experience!Clean theatre and good crowd. Heard only a couple of ring tones and the theatre was silent for the rest of the play.The stage is circular which might cause slight problems for the people in the first two rows but still the view is decent and sound is good.It is worth the money paid.I hope you enjoy it !

Nice quaint drama theatre amidst residential neighbourhood. Went to see PC Sorcar Jrs magic show on a Sunday eve. Reached half an hour early and got the free parking in the basement. Just have to pay a small tip to the security who keeps a register of cars parked. However there are only 30 parking slots available. Otherwise vehicle needs to be parked at Kohinoor Square pay and park. They have a small canteen which serves samosa/ vada/ tea coffee cold drinks during the interval. Food and drinks are not allowed inside the auditorium. Water bottle is allowed. Toilets are clean. Sound system is good. Seats are old but comfortable for a 2-3 hrs seating. Overall nice old school place.

Very big space for any kind of stage oriented program, seating for upto 1200 people.A/C system and circulation is awesome.Clean bathrooms and washing area.Staffs are supporting and dedicated professionals.Need improvement in canteen and should include variety of food options instead of just beverages.It is a good option if someone is looking for a stage function organised for a very large number of audience.

Good Cooling, The hall is old but reasonable well maintained. Toilets are clean. Staff is helpful. Decoration, music system is old. But I assume the rent of the place accordingly must be reasonable in comparison to well decorated and modern halls.

Easy to locate address, large hall without pillars, ample height, caterer was excellent. Toilets (mens) are compact, parking is difficult - always have to use valet - waiting time to retrieve car is long.

What to say about this place. I just love it. Im a theatre artist and I watch many plays here. It has a great stage to perform and seats for audience to relax and enjoy their show. Also, you have snacks outside the auditorium. Maintenance is good.

Its a lovely place....The theatre is quite huge where almost 300 people can sit which is accompanied by a big stage,with balcony and stall seating & probably surround sound.It is air conditioned,is well equipped with comfortable seating and it maintains great hygine and cleanliness.

I had been for a play at this location. The theatre is quirt big in the small aisle. Very nicely & neatly maintained. The theatre has all amenities expected by the audience like comfortable seating, small canteen to help if you get hungry during the show. clean washrooms & nice stairs with the big picture paintings of the stalwarts from the theatre , cinema & music.

There are many reasons why I find this place cool.Although this a theater house. You can book it for your college annuals or other competition.The reason this place is a good choice is because:1. The working staff is really nice and supportive2. The sound system is really good3. It is a huge hall and can sustain around 1200 people.

There was a rat inside the hall. Need better maintenance. Food during the play interval was terrible. Samosas looked stale.Otherwise the theatre was good, with parking.

To get Parking is a big problem here.

This place is pretty good for casual days. You can come with your family and friends to enjoy old school dramas and other stuffs. I dont know much if reservation is required or not but although nice place to visit.

Yashwant natya mandir is a very heritage place . It has witnessed several great artist on its platform. It is good auditorium with capacity of around 650 at the ground floor and a capacity of around 400 in the balcony . Most of the times this place is being used for annual day of various colleges . The seats are comfortable and it is air conditioned as well . The sound system is also good with good facilities for cancelling noise.

Nice place!!! This is very popular drama theatre in Dadar, where very famous dramas takes place. You can see which play will be there, by seeing the posters outside the gate, and you can book the tickets at the counter. Or you can also do the same online, on Bookmyshow.

Easily accessible by road and rail. Appreciate for drama and educational institutional functions. Good acoustics. Just one negative point...no parking available. Green rooms are sufficiently large for dramas but not for school kids to get ready in a large bunch.

Its a good theater and seating is well arranged that you get the non obstructed view of the stage. Speaker system is average. Theres only one way to exit I guess and it became very crowded while leaving. It poses many risks.

I had been here twice to watch lokankika ( play competition organise by loksatta marathi news paper. ). The nearest railway station is matunga in western line of mumbai.

Very well maintained hall with air conditioning working good. Seating capacity is quite large, enough to accommodate about 500+ people. Also there is balcony for good view.

My favorite place, very near from My house, very spacious, air conditioned and clean theatre with superb sitting arrangement and clean atmosphere, away from traffic pollution.

Seats were not as comfortable as some of the other auditoriums but, sound quality was fantastic and stage visibility from. Any part is fantastic

We went to see Maharathi starring Sachit Patil. Easy to find in Maps and near to Matunga Railway station. Walk towards Dadar and take right in Bal Govind Das road. voila!This is one of the oldest theatre in Mumbai. Though its the case, it has its own downside. First of all, its not disable friendly. People with knee and back pain will have nightmarish experience here. Too many levels and too many stairs. No washroom facility for the ladies waiting outside. Theatre itself is lovely, but that doesnt make the experience wholesome. If I have elderly people with me, I would rather avoid going here.

Yashwant Natyamandir is nice place to arrange mid budget award show or something like that apart from professional theatre play. They have got white screen in case of any projections. Internal cooling system is good. There is mini canteen at top floor of the auditorium just behind top seats of an auditorium. This place is very easy to find. Nearest local railway stations are Matunga road and Dadar.

The theatre as such is good, however it had an acoustics problem because of which we could hear the characters speak.. Sometimes they were too loud sometimes less audible. Also the air conditioning was not so good and most of us felt hot especially after the interval.
