4 star legacy review- the lunch buffet price is reasonable, the food is tasty and well-made. Such a shame that this establishment did not survive the lockdowns. The Landlord posted a legal notice outside for seizure because of non-payment of rent, it was issued on May 2021. This place should be flagged as permanently shutdown.

Do yourself a favour and visit this lovely restaurant in main street Markham. The service is unmatched. The staff truly cares about your experience. The food is absolutely amazing – everything we tasted melted in other mouths. Absolutely the best meal we had while in main street Markham. Highly recommend!

This restaurant is my favorite site. Of all restaurants I know I prefere it most. I never miss an opportunity to go to visit this restaurant. Whenever I I need a fair supper, this is the place that comes first to my head. excellent and all sorts of food and a large list of dishes.professional staff, and great atmosphere. And very important, the expence is affordable. I recommend this place with no doubt.

The owners were extremely friendly. The staff were great too. The food was good but not amazing. They had a decent amount of options (main dishes) for an affordable price. The desserts were lacking in terms of variety and taste. Nice, simple and clean enhironment.

Daal tadka was nice , aloo gobhi (aalo and gobhi were not cooked fully bit raw), lachha paratha was soft and tender. Bit pricey, food for one person ended up being $46 ! This place doesnt seem big from outside but its not bad. This was my first time and I must say that Ill visit again. The appetizer Bombay Prawns were mouth watering, along with the sizzling Hariyali chicken and a bit spicy, with garam masala, mutton Biryani. The presentation was amazing.The service was pleasant. We got there a bit late on Sunday after 9pm. I was told they close at 930pm, however, please take your time and order all your food before the kitchen is closed. Then you can take your time and enjoy until youre ready to leave. I was very happy to hear that. A little bit of tidiness at the entrance would be pleasant though.Its a must visit place to experience the flavours.

Really enjoyed my dinner here and would say this is one of the better Indian food places in Toronto. We had the fish curry, lamb bum biryani and a veggie paneer dish which were all terrific. The service was also fast, friendly and helpful. The price and portion sizes were better than I am used to at other similar restaurants. Will definitely be back.

Great customer services and tasty food

Food here that we’ve had so far is absolutely delicious. We had: Hot and Sour Soup, Jalapeño Paneer Balls, Garlic Naan, Chicken Vindaloo & Chicken Dum Biryani. The naan was so good, it’s definitely the best I’ve ever had, even so was the vindaloo and biryani (except for my wife’s; her’s is to die for). Food is not too fiery for those of you who might not settle well with spicy food.Staff is welcoming and helpful. Atmosphere was cozy, while having an elegant setting.Will surely inform others about this restaurant and definitely will come again.Update: Dined here a few other times and the food reminded consistently great!

I would like to give 3.5 stars but cant.The food was good. But Ive had much better for much less. The portion sizes are good though. The portion sizes look small but they arent really. The vessels and plates look small but the amount is just as much as other peoples (bowls are deep and bigger on the bottle)The dum biryani tried but missed the mark. Presentation and quantity was great. Most of the spice flavours were there, they didnt skimp on the spices, but some elements were missing. The rice was not long grain, and not sifted/low quality as I got a tiny pebble in my mouth. The lamb meat had a meaty flavour/smell that is usually easy to cook off with the right technique and spices, but the meat itself was good cuts and cooked well. The curries had a lot of gravy and not as much chicken. The naan was good, but it did not seem like a tandoori naan but rather one made in a pizza oven.The staff was friendly but there were so many servers! I know that sounds like a good thing, but we had one person ask how our food was, 10 seconds later another asked, 30 seconds later another asked. I would prefer being assigned one server for the table and maybe another walking around checking up. Not 5.The ambiance was nice but for a fine dining place some details were missed; ie. No table cloths and the table setting was on the wrong side.It was definitely worth trying, but not my first choice for an encore visit. It was great like any other restaurant when opened new. But once it was established service and customer appreciation went downhill very quickly. Now same as any other Indian restaurant in cutting corners. Buffet severing spoons are always dirty and never exchanged with newones during the buffet hours.

They offer a fantastic variety of delicious food. I enjoy dining here. Employees are always kind, prices are fair and the place is always well organised.

The food at this place was pretty decent. The service was okay. Prices are a bit high for what you get. Dum biryani was really good. Atmosphere was lacking.

Delicious butter chicken and Palak Paneer! Loved the cauliflower appetizer as well. Large patio - surprised more people do not sit out there. Maybe some flowers and big plants would make it more welcoming.

Great food .. rare indian taste found after a very long craving for home food. Loved the experience and the service provided. The food quality was way better than other restuarant that i have been. Absolutely delicious food!! I brought my whole family here to try some authentic Indian dishes and it was the most amazing experience ever. The quality of the food and how it came out sizzling w smoke is an experience I highly recommend for everyone to experience at the restaurant. The waitress were very polite. I will definitely be returning for more love the restaurants vibe very clean and warm in the inside. Hats off to the chef, everything my wife and I ordered was finger licking good.

I was there last night with my friend who is also a foodie like me and its now our favorite indian restaurant. Hands down coming back again; highly recommended.

Went here for the lunch buffet today and while the service was good and the food was fine (though more selection would have been nice), the owner needs a serious change in principles. If he sees that a dish is running low, he’ll outright tell you to stop eating it! Now, I’m underweight and have been trying to gain for months to no avail, so I was delighted to find a calorically-dense dish that I actually enjoyed, but after Id gone back for more and there were no customers around, I was promptly told to stop eating it! Additionally, I went on my own so I’d brought my laptop to do some reading, but they apparently don’t allow laptops either. One last note is that although their price is fairly reasonable (see picture), they stop serving lunch at 2:30PM rather than at 3:00PM, which perhaps explains why they brought me my bill halfway through lunch.Overall, Im no authority on whether anyone should or should not visit, but the fact is that though technically a buffet, the owners seem much more concerned with their bottom line than with customer satisfaction and this may impede the acquisition of your desired experience.

I go with my wife to this great restaurant many times a year! This is my favorite restaurant to pass a nice evening. I visit this place routinely. The meals are excellent, the staff members are helpful and the rates are reasonable. I like meeting in this spot for a rich meal.

Pretty good buffet, food was good quality although the goat curry could have been more tender - perhaps cook a little longer? I especially liked the naan - light, fluffy and not thick, with a layer of butter. Overall, I would consider it good value for money at $13.

There were just two tables occupied and the service couldn’t get any worse. The cutlery, and the bowls in which food was bought in, was also unclean. We had to point it to the waiter that the fork was bad 🤦🏻‍♀️

We went for dinner at 39 spices. It was quite busy but appetisers arrived first and main course did take a little while to come but as compared to the delicious food, wait was worth. And the customer service was really good and staff was so friendly. Really enjoyed our dinner. Will highly recommend this place.

Service was great and courteous. My only knock would be that their washrooms are located downstairs from the restaurant, but its not a big deal.I would definitely go back here again!

Great Canadian curry house. Being from the UK I have a specific taste for curry. Im very pleased to say that 39 Spices didnt disappoint. I had my normal curry dish of chicken Tikka Masala, this was a good size and was incredibly flavourful.Very recommended.

I came here for several times and had chances to try both lunch buffet and A la carte menu. It was amazing with delicious food and perfect service. It is amazing to try both vegetarian and non vegetarian dish at the same time with good price. Pretty sure we will come back again!!!!

This place is a joke. The wait for food is way too long, the food sucks so does the service. The prices are too high for the portions served. The bald manager / owner is nasty and extremely rude. He never learnt how to speak politely to people. We will never go there again and recommend others to AVOID this restaurant completely. There are much better restaurants out there which serve better food, bigger portions, offer better prices and have extremely friendly and polite staff to deal with. 39 spices does not even deserve 1 star rating, but I have no other choice but to give these jokers at least 1 star. AVOID this restaurant at all cost. You can thank me later for not going there.

Absolutely wonderful experience right from the moment we walked in! We were greeted by friendly staff and seated right away. Our food came quickly and was cooked to perfection. The vegetable korma was fantastic! I strongly recommend 39 Spices!

It is the worst Indian restaurant I have ever been too. We went with my Old parents and small kids. The owner was busy fulfilling online orders. We waited for 2.5 hours and still no food. In the end we got up and walked away. During the wait I noticed that he was fulfilling orders for all white customers and non white people had to wait. I will never visit it again.

The food was amazing and the nan bread was soft and warm! Would definitely recommend it if you feel like trying something different. 39 Spices is a winner in my book! The staff were very accommodating and always smiling. Even though they may not have good street presence that doesnt affect the quality of the food inside.

The food was delightful and exceptionally homemade. But what will keep us coming back is that owner and staff you made us feel as though we were welcome into their space and effortlessly cared for. We were made to feel special along with everyone else dining there as well.

Just had dinner with my family at this restaurant to celebrate my dad’s birthday. We were impressed with not only with the delectable food but also the exceptional service by the staff. Everything that we ordered was great and the staff went extra mile to make us feel welcome.

Went for lunch and found the food to be filling and tasty. A person i assume was the owner was most helpful explaining the various dishes and tastes. Service was quick and pleasant and price was reasonable for an all you can eat buffet.I would have liked to had a few more dishes to choose from given the name 39 Spices. Ill go back again.

When you see Indian people at an Indian restaurant you know it’s good. Excellent food, waitress was very friendly and good with our dietary restrictions. My only comment would be to either turn off the changing colour lights or keep it to one colour (white or blue maybe) it cheapens the ambiance otherwise.

39 spices is simply magnificent. The food was authentic and delicious, the atmosphere was welcoming and cozy, but most importantly the service was great. There are very few places that you can go to these days where everyone is so friendly. The owner also chatted with us and is very genuine. The vibe is amazing, I will definitely be going back!

I’m so disappointed. I thought based on the reviews that this place was going to be good. Where to begin? From the outside you can see that the place hasn’t been well-maintained. We got there around noon and we were the only customers. To start, there’s not a lot of variety. The tandoori chicken was dry and tough, spicy but not flavourful. The goat curry was bland and the meat was tough. The rice was overcooked and mushy. Lastly, the butter chicken tasted and smelled rotten. The prices aren’t listed anywhere but at $13.50 per person it was OVERPRICED. I’ve had better Indian food at the Scarborough Town Centre food court.

My experience at 39 Spices is always incredible. The owner is always hospitable and welcoming on every occasion. The food they offer is fresh and tastes great, especially their lamb chops and garlic naan. They serve food in a reasonable amount of time and the restaurant is very comforting and peaceful. Been here a couple of times, and I must say the food is exceptional, and even greater is the customer service, very fast and efficient! The owners always make it a point to host us personally due to the dietary restrictions that some of my family members have, and always make us something special. One of the excellent places for Indian food. The buffet is very interesting with a lot of varieties and it is available everyday. The food tastes fantastic and they are all priced reasonably. The owner Mr.Akthar is so friendly and is very much concerned about the guests. The staffs give an excellent service. I would definitely recommend this place to all my friends.

Went for a spontaneous dinner with the family last night and were so glad we did! Delicious food and great service. Weve eaten at many Indian restaurants around the city and this is by far one of the best. Menu had a huge selection of both veg and non-veg options; servings were large and the naan was hot and fresh. Cant wait to go back to try the buffet. There was plenty of parking in the back and a patio at the front that will be perfect in the summer.
