A great hostel to stay in. Suggestion take a room after the 4th floor than only you can enjoy the valley view. And ya the odd number rooms except room no. 9 of every floor and preferably room no. 15 and 16 as they are almost twice the size of other rooms. This the valley side of the hostel.

Well maintained

One of the many blocks that is reserved for first year students at MIT Manipal. It has a really extensive night canteen that can cater to your every need. However, a few of my friends had pest issues (bedbugs and cockroaches) in their rooms.

The best hostel for the 1st years. Some tips for choosing rooms: 1) The odd numbered rooms have nice view 2) Room no.s ending with 15 and 16 are huge compared to others 3) The lifts are kinda slow and overcrowded so high floors get frustrating at times but its worth the view (all rooms above 6 have good view which keeps getting better with higher floors)

This block is good but the bathroom is a little small. They could have made it a little bigger.

The hostel rooms are very good,but for around 300 rooms across 11 floors only 2 lifts are there,u have to wait for atleast 5 mins for the lift.

Its one among the 22 Hostels of the MIT, Manipal. Block 17 is basically for 1st year students and is a boys hostel.

Really really good rooms. The food is amazing and theres housekeeping on alternate days. Theres also a night canteen which is open from 5pm to 1 am. If you join a hostel at MIT the fees for the gym at the recreation center in the campus decreased drastically and is Rs.500 for 4 years. Theres also an amazing study environment here. So parents whore worried that their children might get into drugs and all if they join here, perish those thoughts.

Good hostel but way too far from the food court . Back gate accessibility is a huge plus for auto and ordering food. Non AC but is quite spacious and has better bathroom than any other senior blocks.Cleaning staff is non existent.Caretaker is lazy too .Warden is fine.

This place gives you a good scenic view. The rooms are in a very good condition. There are 2 canteens in this block which are open from 7 in the morning to 1 in night. The laundry services are good. There are e television rooms which are open from 5:00 pm to 10:30 pm. There are are 2 table tennis rooms. Moreover the accessibility to this place is quite good.

Basic amenities like toilet cleaning and floor cleaning must need to improve. There is a lot of scope in that area.

The block was a new one when compared to other blocks and was maintained neatly by the working staff .Here the rooms are single and bathroom to be shared by two ..

This was my hostel when i was in first year.Pretty good. But the only thing is that its pretty far away from everything. But first years have to take it. Its the best in facilities for the first years.

Very nice cozy living space for aspiring engineers at MIT, the single AC rooms are excellent. In every Hostel Block there is a dedicated laundry and cleaning service. Hot water is available for a shower every morning. Block 17 is placed 1.2 km from the food court which makes it one of the closest blocks to the food court. Overall living experience here is great.

This hostel block is exclusively for 1st year boys. Majority of the rooms are Non Air-Conditioned. However, there are some AC rooms too. The block has decently sized rooms, all with attached bathrooms. There are Single accommodation and dual sharing options.

Wonderful rooms for B.Tech first year students..... Very cooperative staff

The block was just alright.It was good when it comes to its location and the people there.But I believe, for the price, the rooms are really small. All they could fit was a wardrobe, a bed and a study table. And after all these theres barely any space left in the room.Two rooms share the same bathroom and the kitchen.I have attached the picture of the washroom, kitchen and the wardrobe.

One of the best blocks in MIT. Strictly a first year only block. Had one of my best times here. Rules are pretty chill here. But perm time is just 9:30 like for all the first year blocks!

Awesome place to stay for first year student in Manipal Institute of Technology, has very friendly caretaker, has two canteen one for snack and tea while other for proper food, mediate medical service is also provided with ambulance to hospital. This hostel even have rooms with Ac. During my stay in the campus this hostel was the best choice that a fresher can get median price range but not sure about the current price for the rooms in this hostel as Ac room are introduced in this hostel resulting in a increase in the price. Nevertheless this is better than most of the hostel as the hostel is constructed well and have very spacious room with excellent furniture. Any repair in the room is mostly free of charge and quick, provided by the hostel caretaker within 1 or 2 days. For daily attendance they have fingerprint scanner installed that can be bypassed if you want to. And most important caretaker are really good and helpful they will even come with you to the hospital in emergency. You can even call them under serious condition in the hostel. Not sure about the hostel warden as they keep changing but usually you get very nice warden for this block. And at the last this block is better than block 16.

Good hostel but it is really far from the academic blocks.

If you want privacy, go with this block or 16th, the food court is right next to the building (new one), But u have to walk for 13-17 min to reach your classroom. Thats the only drawback of this building depending on how you look at it, if you consider walking as an exercise and not a burden youll absolutely love this block. If you dont care about privacy and want to have fun with friends a lot, choose block 5 or 6 (first years only).

The best and the most linient block

The block is one of boys hostel of MIT Manipal. The warden is nice and not that strict. There are two canteen inside which serve food on pay till late night. The rooms are clean and spacious. You get all options from single to double in both ac and non ac. But the block is very far from acedmic section.

If you want to suffocate from your room as well as your incessant assignments, this is the perfect block for you

Well constructed in an apartment type finish but rooms are small with lesser ventilation.

Best hostel in mit. It is very new. The rooms are clean and tidy and spacious.

The staff is reasonable and sensible. Cleaning occurs every 2 days. Well maintained. No complaints till now.

Just wants to say that this place is awesome with 24×7 hot water supply.

One of the best hostels to stay in MIT. The Wardens and the caretakers here are chilled out unlike other blocks. Rooms are well furnished. The daily walk is the only disadvantage though.

It doesnt have a night canteen.The laundry guys come virtually every weekday, except Sundays, so, its never a problem to get laundry done here.The rooms are like 2 bedroom single bathroom flats. There are two rooms, for two people, theres a common room and a bathroom attached to the common room. Yeah, youll have to share the bathroom with your flat mate, unlike the single rooms in 16th or 17th block, but thats not a big problem (it at least wasnt for me).The rooms are very good. You get a long desk with good storage (longer than the ones given in 16th or 17th block), a chair, a decently long bed with one under storage (use it for bedsheets and chocolate), a bookshelf mounted on the wall and a cupboard. The only problem is, that the furniture is fixed to the walls, so you really cannot change the decor. You also get a pin board and a whiteboard in every room (the whiteboard was very useful for me). The common room has a wash basin, a slab (useful when washing utensils, clothes, etc) and a storage compartment.I stayed in one of the rooms of this block when I was in my first year of college. My experience was very nice. Especially with the caretakers, theyre very kind.
