Service was bit late but was worth waiting. Tried sea food platter. It fresh and tasty but the quantity is less for what they charge. But still the taste and quality covers all the odds. Thumbs up to Infiniti lounge(shetty lunch home)

When it comes to Chicken Ghee Roast, there is none more authentic than the one available at Shetty Lunch Home. The pioneers of several food items that Mangalore boasts of, Shetty Lunch home have added another feather to their cap with the launch of their lounge Infiniti.Along with fellow foodies, I had a chance to visit the place for a food extravaganza, wherein I managed to sample most of their iconic dishes.Ghee Roast – This simple dish needs no introduction, but for the ones who aren’t aware, this dish comprises of chilly powder and a few other spices roasted in pure ghee on a slow flame. This gives the main ingredient a very flavourful and pungent taste. The main ingredient is usually chicken, mutton, paneer, mushroom or baby corn.Anjal Tawa Fry – This is another dish you are likely to find in most seafood restaurants of Mangalore. While Anjal is Seer/King fish, the tawa fry is a unique preparation of spices roasted on the tawa. This is a good choice if you do not like food that is too spicy.Chicken Butter Garlic – A creamy and garlicky twist to the ordinary Chinese preparation, the chicken butter garlic at Infiniti is a must-try!Silverfish Rawa Fry – Also known as Motiyale/Bolanjeer, this is a crunchy fish preparation coated with rawa. The best part? This tiny fish can be swallowed as a whole, bones and all!Kane Rawa Fry – Called Lady Fish in English, this is a very flavourful fish which can be made into curries or fried. Do try the rawa fry variant at Infiniti, which is a nice snack to have as you sip on something chilled.Chicken Sukka – Another Mangalorean speciality, the Sukka is a semi-dry dish (although its name suggests otherwise), consisting of shredded coconut and freshly ground spices. This goes great with neer dosa or boiled rice.Neer Dosa – Again, a dish that originated in Mangalore thanks to the abundance of coconuts and rice flour, the neer dosa is a light preparation – One dosa can be had in two gulps! So don’t be shocked if your Mangalorean friend orders 12 dosas and polishes it off all by himself!Mutton Keshava – While I’ve tasted most of the other dishes elsewhere too, this was one unique dish I was trying for the first time. It is a mutton preparation, best had as a starter. The dish is said to have been named after the chef who invented it, Keshava.Ghee Rice and Chicken White Kurma – This dish sees the influence of the Kerala culture and cuisine. The ghee rice is bland yet subtly flavourful. The chicken white kurma is tasty, but I’d have liked to have this with Appam or Dosa instead of rice, as the curry is a bit on the sweeter side, which does not go too well with rice.Seafood Thali – If you’re confused what to order when you visit Infiniti, all you need to do is order the special sea food thali. The thali consists of so many fish items that you are likely to lose count! There is a slice of Anjal Tawa Fry, Prawns Dry Chutney, Fish Curry and much more. And most importantly, it is reasonably priced!Lime Soda – This was the pick of the day for me! As most of my followers would know, I’m more of a juices person than a food person. And hence, I am very critical of the liquids I consume. I ordered 3 glasses of this, back to back! That in itself speaks volumes about the taste. The drink had the right amount of fizz, tanginess, sweet and salt. Most importantly, the lime used was fresh, something that most places overlook. All in all, I had a hearty meal, and left the place extremely satisfied. If you’re in Mangalore for a visit, or even otherwise, this is one place you should definitely not miss!
