Amazing food. Must visit if you are in Mangalore and want to have some good pork and beef! Along with some chilled beer!

Though the place doesnt look very accommodating and spacious from the outside, the seating and other facilities do seem to be adequate.A good ambience, not the best though. Perfect place to visit with your family (seperate A/C family section) or your girlfriends, or even a whole group of friends.The first floor seems to be closed at present due to the covid-19 dip in customers, but the ground floor is fully functional.The service is not very commendable but not a hindrance to a good dining.The food is okayish, could have been better.Overall a good place to visit if you want to try some place new.

Reminded me of my mummy and Nanas cooking . Mildly spiced and light on the stomach. But great flavour . Its a small place. But Just go for the food . Mary bai wont disappoint you. You get juicy bugers the buger patties of pork, beef, chicken are very delicious and juicy it might be a little pricey but it justify the price tag it is the best buger in Mangalore!!!!

This place never fails to suprise with good food and variety of drinks to serve on my every single visit. My visit to Mangalore is incomplete if I dont visit to Mangala bar and not ordering my personal favorites that are pork chilly, bacon wrapped sausages, loaded nachos, Phat Freddie and the list goes on.

Place is a bit old , ambience isnt that great , although the food was the greatest thing here and so the quantity.... surprisingly they turned junk food into something healthier by adding such rare vegetables which youd not find much these days.. its a budget friendly place good for family outings .

My wife & I Visited the Mangala Bar & Restaurant for the first time a couple of days back. We were accompanied by our son who has been a regular here along with his friends. He had been telling us about the Phat Freddie burgers served at this restaurant for a long time and I was tempted to finally try one out. It is one of the older restaurants in Mangalore and is located at Attavar Mangalore. It had to cut down on its floor space due to the reduced patronage during the Covid pandemic but has still managed to have separate sections for bachelors and families. A bit congested but manageable. The clientele is mainly from the younger set and draught beer is available on tap. Overall a pleasant place. The Phat Freddie was good and the evening passed quickly.The Goan touch is unmistakable and even the menu has a Konkani feel to it. Dookra Maas anyone...

Had been here with my friend. Superb food and courteous staff. Ample parking space and clean up washrooms. I had ordered chicken stuffed nachos, divelled chicken, pork roast. All upto mark items. No regret!! Im gonna be a permanent curtomer😀

Mangala, We went to taste authentic pork delicacy and we were not disappointed. Various thalis are available and we chose with pork and it was tasting gorgeous as I always knows Mangalore provides best pork delicacies. The AC room is Ok and non ac ones looks dingy but, we went for the food and it was worth it. Recommended and if you still want to taste different home cooked pork delicacies then just opposite is Mary Bai and you will carry a memory.

A cozy place tucked in the busy streets of Mangalore. If you are in Mangalore or even passing by, you have to stop and try out Mangala. A person who loves foodie will enjoy this heaven. You have to try everything on the menu (which means you should visit the place multiple times) but, you have to try the Phat Freddie! Also, the Pork Chops. Walk-in with a good appetite, so go light with your breakfast or build one for dinner. They have a good choice of refreshments that perfectly compliment the burgers, or chops, or even their squid biryani! A definite 5/5.

Excellent food. Each of the 13 items we ordered yesterday was top class. Pepper Sukka Chicken was the absolute champion, closely followed by Freddies, Pita Wraps, Ghee rice and Chicken curry. Great service too by the hands-on owners!

The food here is lovely one of the best in Mangalore . Recommended items chicken liver pepper fry (personal fav ) , fried chick toast and the Freddie burgers ( they are literally a piece of heaven for burger lovers ) .

The quality of a great eating joint is that it innovates its menu and renovates its ambience often. This place definitely does that. This place offers u some amazing beef as well as pork and all the coastal food. Some of its menu is extremely good. The price is also very reasonable. This is more of a quasi pub. Even their freddie burgers are very good. I have attached the menu for reference. If u are in mangalore and want to try out the coastal breads plus pork, beef and burgers, this is the best place. One of the best places in Mangalore if ur ever in a mood to have pork. Id rate it no.1 in Mangalore just for the variety and taste of pork dishes. Good food and ambiance and a great value for money.must try items are pork sorpatel and bafat with sunna or neerdosa. The special pork thali is also one of the must try from here

Quite a spacious place to visit with family and friends. Seating are very close to each other hence no privacy. Ambience is good and decent. Reasonable place but the quality is very less sufficient for two max. We tried pork, Chicken Chilly, gobi Manchurian, paneer burji, boiled veggies, french fries. All had very less quantity. It was 2 while we reached place was quite crowded and service was slow. Beer are available in pitcher and jar. Food was tasty 4/5, Service 4/4, ambience 5/4

This used to be a shady place to drink back in the day. Wasnt hard on your pocket and could afford a drink. Im pretty impressed with the way its been rebranded and restored. The ambience and service is excellent. Its a good place to chill and catch up with friends. A visit with friends here is memorable. Cheers

For all those burger enthusiasts out there, Mangala is the go to place for an amazing pork burger! I live in Bangalore where the burgers are amazing, but Mangalas Fat Freddie Burger is on a whole other level all together. They also serve good beef and pork starters, and you cant go wrong trying the daily specials as well.Although it may seem like a local pub from the outside, Mangala is family friendly on most days, and weekends can get a bit jam packed, but I can never miss the Fat Freddie Pork Burger with bacon when I come to Mangalore for a vacation 💚

Mangala bar & Restaurant is an oldest place in mangalore. Many local residents visit often and they food is good. Especially some mangalore style food like appam and curry. I heard they are famous for their pork varieties, I liked the chilly garlic pork (home style) there is non ac and AC sections available. And take away too.

Ambiance was godd only thing that effect was the price... Too over priced and the quantity is less. Rest the bar was wonderful

I have been to this restaurant at least 5 times... In my experience, I cant take even half a star away... This restaurant deserves 5 stars in my books any damn time... The wide range of food they offer right from the traditional mangalorean dishes to the burgers is all so perfect... Their service too goes hand in hand with their quality..

Mangala Bar and Restaurant one of the oldest and famous place in town known for their Pork meat and the very popular Freddie Burgers. Its a place mostly for Non Vegetarian. The place also had a pub called G6 which became Retro Lounge Bar and now it has a new avatar called Zouk - Resto Bar.

Visited this Restaurant with Family on 31st Dec 2019 New Years Eve, the Restaurant was 50% occupied and we were given a good service by the staff. The Staff even recommended a few items from the Menu and they were all good. Though we found the portions to be a bit smaller and the Prices to be a bit Higher the taste and the service compensated for the same. This Restaurant has a variety of Seafood, Non Veg and Vegetarian dishes on the Menu. The Choice of drinks offered are also very diverse. Good place to relax and spend some Quality time while relishing on some delicious food. Worth a visit!

The place has really tasty pork burger and beef burger as it is known as Freddie burgers. Its a chill place to eat and drink. Also a separate section for smokers is available.The only downside is that it takes lot of time for the servers to take your order and mostly mangala is quite crowded.

Nice burgers but they didnt have most of things on the drinks menu when we went recently. They refused to give bottled beer even though they had stock of it and said we can only order draft.

Ive been there for their classic Freddie Burgers. Its slightly on the expensive side but worth it once in a while.Good ambience. Usually crowded.Delayed service and not every welcoming.

The taste of succulent pork baffat ,mutton curry and soft sannaas are the least of the things I can talk about when it comes to mangala bar and restaurant. Even though every bite was a revelation but the factor that truly took the whole experience to another level was the fact that our waitstaff was a genuinely nice person who knew everything we wanted to order before the words left our mouths and had the best one lines outside a Tarantino movie , hats off to the people who run this place. It was an amazing place with good tasty food and service when I used to visit before... But after a long back I came with my friends for enjoying the ambience and get chilled... But... The upstairs were closed and the AC section shifted to downstairs which looks like a common bar and the service was very poor ... The service guy was very arrogant and we just loss out moode and canceled the order .... They really spoiled our day.... In Mangalore mangala was one of the best we used to visit but not anymore...

It was no1 restaurant in mangalore before lockdown. Now they dont have upstairs so its really uncomfortable to enjoy with frnds and fly. They should reopen immediately upstair rooms to get back as before else they will loose customers

Been here many times since before the renovations and continue to do so.Firstly, do check out their unique clock that goes in the opposite direction.Coming to the food, do try out their chicken 65, Phat Freddie burgers and Butter chicken. Other items are generally good too.Good alcohol choices and the staff are very friendly and helpful.Definitely recommend this place for a casual evening among friends. Not for family if you prefer a quiet meal.
