Visited Simbly South in anticipation of #2020. Restaurant was empty when we walked in around 8.00 PM. Started filling up when we were leaving around 10.00 PM. The food was excellent and the service was very courteous. Would really recommend this restaurant. We were also provided discount vouchers for Rs.200 X 2 for use during subsequent visits.Pan shots finished off the dinner.
Its okay. Mainly went there for the fish thali that my mom always ordered. Unfortunately it wasnt even on the menu. We obviously wouldnt visit a restaurant named simbly south if we wanted to eat a North Indian thali 😅 just regular food. Nothing that Id highly recommend it for. A nice place for families and corporate lunches I suppose.
Been here during their Mutton Festival. Great variety of dishes to choose from. Roasted Mutton Pepper salad, Mutton Nimbuda for starters, Lentil Mutton Shorba & Mutton Ka Shorba for soups are must tries. The chef recommends Koyla Dum Biryani for main course and its just divine.Ambience is a mix of well lit and calm. Also has liquor menu. Great for a family visit.
Great ambience, food and service. They have very friendly staffs. Food here is inspired from South Indian dishes. All though, they add thier own twists to the taste and present it to you in a modern way. Its like a homely feeling at an eatery. They change thier menus according to the season and trends. They come up with really great ideas and are trend setters.
As the name suggests, this place serves authentic South Indian Food. They have a wide variety and also occasionally they host and serve various south Indian cuisines as part of their food festival. The pics are from Kotunadu Food festival - A local region from Kerala with their authentic delicacies and the recent Appam Festival
Change the name first in Google maps. Earlier mutton items were available. But the rate was too high compared to other restaurants. I liked the naan and other rotis from here. Now it is famous for fish.
This fusion is with a desi accent. The soft and spongy rasgulla is soaked in filter kapi is served with ice cream topped with chikki. The moilee yellow gravy marries the Andhra spices to add a flavour of its own. The rich and creamy coconut rice is served in a very interesting manner wrapped in a banana leaf like a tower and served hot. The Tamil Nadu style rasam gets a Hawaiian twist and is served as soup. If Indians had invented tacos it would probably be like this_ appam served with a spicy filling garnished with crispy papad. Dont leave without tasting the coconut and lychee flavoured drink- highly recommend! Go for it, if you like twist on your plate. Every dish is a surprise. Including the welcome drink a quirky fusion of kokum and chia and the paan shots served with cream! Dont leave without clicking a selfie with SubraMINION!! He checks you out....
Awesome taste of food. One of the best restaurants in Mangalore. We even get special food of south Canara and Kerala. Enjoyed the food. We get different kinds of food menu according to the season. Aati (Monsoon festival) is celebrated here, at that time there will be special food options mainly traditional food South.
The name is changed to Fish Market and most of the special food items are not available. But good place .
Must mention this isnt Simbly South anymore. Its a new seafood restaurant named Fish Market. Awesome spread of seafood and very good quality. Loved the food. Excellent for seafood lovers. We had the prawn ghee roast, crab masala fry, pomfret dry fry, squid butter garlic, chicken masala (south Indian style) paired with some yum neer dosas. Everything was top notch.
The food was amazing. Service was excellent. I am struggling to find anything to criticize. Even if the meal was free Id want to pay them for how good the food was, the ambience was and the service was. Absolutely deserves 5 stars in my eyes.
One of our family favourite restaurant.at mangalore.. Very nice ambience , with some good music .. food is delicious. Apam is veg/,chicken stew are the highlights here . One must try deserts like coconut pudding, tender coconut payasam, raagi manni.Staff is very courteous , seating is comfortable , even kids will enjoy Thier dining here ..No dedicated parking, but one must park on either side of road
Place is taken over by new management. There doesnt seem to be anything south indian here. We went looking for Appam, but were disappointed.
Great place to eat at. Loved their ambiance and food quality. They have a variety of choices to choose from and have new themes at different special times of the year. It’s good to go with family.Service is excellent, I loved the decor of the area.
Restaurant was really good. The ambience the behaviour of the staff and their service everything were on the point. Quality of the food was also on the point. Only thing I didnt like was the taste of the food. Items form Their mango special menu were not upto the mark. They can work a bit upon that thing otherwise it was really good restaurant.
A small place with nice ambience and great food. We has the unlimited appam there. Which was really mouthwatering as it was being served hot hot. A great place to take your family. Please do not they do serve alcohol also.
Loved the place. The service is great so is the food and ambience.A variety of South Indian varieties just as the name tells and a fair amount of North Indian dishes. Family or friends you need to try this place once.
Its one of the older restaurants which was made over recently. Was visiting it after a long gap. But was totally disappointed. They didnt have any tandoori or grilled item on their menu. What was available was not up to the mark. Only, ambiance was good. Rest average. Nothing to appreciate about.
Ambience is good. Great experience all around. Staff is also kindness.
Ambience is fantastic. Food is tasty and well portioned. Great experience.
Nice ambience ..Staff are professional and helpful..tasty food but quantity is less.. overall nice experience.
Some dishes were good, while others were not up to the mark. Green chicken ghee roast was quite good. There is scope to improve the inside ambience as well.
Wouldnt have expected this restaurant to have such great vegetarian options!Their mushroom starters, paneer ghee roast, veg stew & appams were on point! Alcohol is reasonably priced, too.The servers were extremely helpful & polite & the food came quickly enough - great service!
Good ambiance, authentic Kerala cuisine, the food here is mouth watering. The cost is reasonable. A must try place if you are a foodie.
Great Food, Very friendly staff and very innovative dishes.Try the chicken lollypop ghee roast, Ghee roast egg omlet, appam and stew.Nice place to visit with family. south indian dishes are preferred.
Clean, tasty and healthy south Indian veg and nonveg food. Little costly. But OK.
Clean environment. Tasty food. Nice staffs.
One of the nice places to visit with your family if you are looking forward for good South Indian food. Good service as well. Dont forget to try veg stew and appam!
Since childhood its bewn my favorite place for family dinners, birthday dinner and more. The authenticity and delicious south indian Flavours here is what makes it want more.Gangam chicken is my favourite. Biryani here is too good. Seafood and the authentic kerala style food is too good.
I was first amused by its name but when we ate there, it was a great yum experience. I would suggest everyone to give it a try. Ive gone there many times. Enjoyed each time. I wish the waiters there give us a little space and not keep watching us as we are eating.....
Ambiance was quite good and the Staff was very polite. Visit this place if you want to test KERALA food. Though I cant tell about the taste as I dont like it much. Maybe you will find the taste good.
Friendly staff. good food. Nice small place to have good food. A bit pricey but all in all its fine. The pan shots at the end are really good gives a refreshing feeling.
We went there to have a dessert in mango food fest. The ambience is good. We are neatly served. We ordered coconut burfi with mango icecream. It was tasty. The downside is price little bit costly.
Best service experienced at mangalore with excellent food. Must try at mangalore
Nice place to go. Food very good and ambience is nice.
Natures fruit in ice cream form. Truly tasty n available till pretty late 👍
Really awesome place. Nice service .
Nice briyani which is not too spicy which is my taste
It is nice to have dinner here I went three times for dinner here and the staff is ossam well serve well treat and one more thing that they give a complementary paan shots to every customer which is one of my fav. Thanku.
If you are looking for authentic South Indian food, this is definitly not the place. Not least wait for a seat. As an ardent cook and a foodie and also a South Indian I can assure you the thali provided, for the exorbitant rates charged, is simbly not worth it. Unless you are strongly biased by someone who has no idea about South Indian cuisine pl look for better alternatives in Mangalore. There are so many.... Beverages are over the roof.
Superb food......taste was very good and nice place we really enjoyed a food and a namma thulunada style😍😍😍😍😍
Its Very Expensive..And the it was oily food. I am not happy with the experience
The food is excellent.not oily or full of colour but cooked very well and very tasty.Authentic flavours and good quality.worth a visit
Clean restaurant, good ambience. Staff was very outgoing and friendly. However, i felt that the food was a bit lacking. The curries were a bit underspiced and were a bit lacklustre. I feel this place has a lot more potential to be lived upto.
Nice ambience and courteous staff.Food is good, one must try their chicken ghee roast.
Excellent food...courteous staff..though service a bit slow...enjoyed every last bite
The friendliest service one could get. Good ambience , tasty food. Simbly South is Simply best!!!!👌👌👍👍
Authentic and tasty food in Mangalore. Am one of the regular visitor whenever visits Mangalore. Enjoyed MUTTON FEST recently.
Visited here to taste Aati Special Meal it was good.
Great South indian food (Mangalorean and Keralite). Not very expensive. great for family outings.
We went for the mango fest & it was gud.Tge sweet mango with Thai chilli tofu was delicious but too hottttt.....
Good hospitality, nice silent place
The ambience is good ... But the food quality should improve
Ordered multiple times and consistently got delicious south indian food. They use freshly ground spices and most dishes we ordered were prepared in ghee and not oil. Recommend appam, stew or yellow curry or kurma.
Good ambience, average food, excellent service but slightly expensive. All in all not complete value.
Its exactly what it says, simply south, buts so much more, its authentic, its heavenly, and so elegant, its soothing
Wonderful place good n tasty food n friendly service.. Value for money.
Great food. Good service and tasty food. Loved it!
Good service, healthy food... 👍 Not pocket friendly as well....
This is great Kerala cuisine. Their fish thali for lunch is reasonably priced and filling. Service is a bit slow.
Good ambience but little pricey.
Authentic manglorean and kerela cuisine. Good ambience. Reasonably priced.
Epic service by the staff, always a delight and we are mostly here for the Appom and Stew, either Chicken stew or Mutton Stew.. mmm yummy ... Tone it down with the drink of your choice.. ,🙏(Appom is complimentary with the stew, but the quantity if chicken pieces or mutton pieces in the stew is comparably vdry low ,but stil the food is tasty..)
Nice ambience and good service... But they forgot to put Butte in the Butter Naan and there isNorth Indian food also so you can get a thali but that is not mentioned in the menu as this place is focussed on South Indian food only.
Food is good , pretty expensive...appam is complimentry but the price of it covers up with the things you order.. ordered one orange juice which was simple one and it costs 200 bucks ! Not worth it at all & Quantity is less for the price .
Food tasty good atmosphere
A good place for Mangalorean /kudla food .Hygiene 8/10👍Ambience 8/10Value for money 6½/10Taste 7/10
Good food good ambiance good service
Awesome :) nice service :) great food , a place were you can enjoy with family :)Ps: they also serve booze ;)
A place with real Taste and Perfect Ambience.
Staff serving food are very polite and caring
The ambience is good, food is good and cheap.. Nice place to go with the family :)
I ordered prawn ghee roast. It was full of curry leaves. The whole essence of prawn s was lost in curry leaves. The ratio was 1:4 for prawn piece vs curry leaves. I mean it.I seriously dont understand why there is a need to put curry leaves.
Awesome food .. VFM .. nice and friendly staff ... Good ambience.. should fast before u go to have food here coz d quantity is higher than what u expect..
