Great park, so much fun for the kiddos. The playground is very unique and has lots of slides, a sandpit, huge climbing section and even a little splash pad. The public restrooms here are a different story though, absolutely disgusting. Bring sanitizer! There was no soap. The mens was locked and I was told its always locked for some reason.
This park had gotten a major upgrade and its incredible! This was already a great place to enjoy the outdoors but not with all the new play areas it has become a fantastic place for families to come and enjoy a few hours. There are new slides, swings for kids and adults ping pong tables (bring you own equipment) and mini climbing wall fornyounger kids and a huge climbing area for older kids. The splash pad is back and just in time for the summer for all to keep cool. There are plenty of shaded areas but make sure to still bring some sunblock. The city of Austin parks and the rest of the contributors of this project have outdone themselves. I just hope that people will do their part in helping to take care of it so it will last.. Definitely make some time to come check this place out, you will not be dissapointed.Enjoy!!!
This was an excellent park! We went right after going to Terry Blacks and she loved it. There was so much for her to do it wasnt just limited to a boring playground. She had a lot of fun trying out the rock climbing and the giant slides all by herself
I was in Austin for a corporate event at the Palmer Events Center. They served is lunch outside. It was a beautiful day. The first day of the fall season. It literally a breath of fresh air. Beautiful views and lovely lawn. A great place to destress.
Stumbled on this park yesterday and it is really nice! So much to do in this park for families, kids and anyone wanting to enjoy the outside with the backdrop of the city. There is a dog park, children’s park, and many other things to do and see. Sits along the Lady Bird Trail and steps away from the Palmer Center. I recommend this park to everyone.
Best playground in Austin. All ages all abilities. Really open ended design, so each child can play at their level. Toddlers and teenagers and everyone in between can find the space really fun. Added bonus of beautiful view of Downton.
Easily one of the best public parks in Austin to bring your kids to for an hour or two. Great climbing rig and the water feature helps keep them alive mid-summer.
Great park with a jaw dropping view of downtown.Great for kids and convenient if you have a dog as there is the offleash dog area adjacent. The new kids playground and amenities are awesome. Its big and it never feels too crowded. It includes a splash pad, sandbox, climbing structures, tunnels, a few slides, blocks and shaded areas. The only occasional downside is homeless people either sleeping or roaming nearby but they usually keep to themselves.Parking can also be hard to find.
This place a little of a lot. Open space, a hill, large playground for the kiddos, a hill, also a splash pad to cool off in. Theres also a pond with turtles and some fish including some lunker bass. I see people fishing here sometimes, but I dont know if Ive seen anyone catch anything. Fun times for the whole family.
Our kids had a blast on all the NEAT playground equipment. The danger surfaces when crazy homeless people start shouting, begging, fighting...ALARMING to children as well as adults & parents. Would like to see some police presence around, especially at night...to help us be safe.
Good place for family, with fun things to do for kids.
Well designed and thoughtful, emphasis on spending time with children. Nice variety of plant life and a pond. Near Town Lake. Bountiful shade from the many trees. Excellent landscaping, dog-friendly. Probably as nice a childrens park as you will find anywhere. Relatively uncrowded on the Monday afternoon we were there. On busy days, parking will be an issue, but this is Austin.
Loved having a walk around and just enjoying the views!
Beautiful park, Austin residents should be thankful for having such an amazing park. The combination of nature and city is surreal. Clear water river, calm enough for many canoes and little boats. Right next to it, the amazing and modern Austin Skyline. This park helps you explore this amazing location.
Great city views, walking, and chill areas. We enjoyed the Alliance Childrens Garden.
Very nice park with fun playscapes. Its very innovative. The splash pad is great too. My only complaint is the lack of shade, wear sunscreen.
Hot day in August... but enjoyed the park with kids... downtown view was a plus....
Nice place to enjoy time outdoors, plus you get a nice view of the city.
This park is so fun for the kids. We went on a rainy day so they werent able to enjoy it 100%. I gave it 4 stars because there were quite a few homeless people nearby. One was sleeping outside the bathroom.
We made a trip to Texas over Spring Break and spent a couple days in Austin. Having two little kids that needed to burn energy, we stopped here. The bench swings were perfect for us parents to sit on and watch the kids play. This playground had everything and wore our kids out!
The childrens alliance garden is absolutely incredible. So happy to have this creative space for kids to play in and test their own boundaries with climbing and play. I went on a weekday and on a weekend. Both were crowded but the weekend was twice as busy. If you are super covid cautious, this may not be the place for you yet. Mask wearing is spotty and the kids are playing hard and sometimes rather close.
Great park for adults and children alike. Having a splash pad with a fun light show is a huge bonus on hot Texas days!!
Its amazing. The new playground is great. The only bad thing is people letting their kids trash a brand new, multimillion dollar playground. I picked up a broken bottle after one family that left it for others to clean up. And the foam blocks are getting trashed quickly. And parking can be a challenge. But other than that, the park is amazing.
Great park! My daughter had a lot of fun and lots of different options for activities. Parking sucks though
Lovely atmosphere here. Away from the hustle of the city. Great place to relax and take a walk.
This place is unbelievable! My suggestion would be to avoid the weekends if possible. And if you have 2 young kids, bring an extra set of hands. It is easy for even with a man 2 man coverage, hard to keep track of them in the very cool cave tunnels.
A wonderful view day or night. You can find people on the hill at all hours.
A beautiful park located just south of downtown Austin Texas, come to see the sprawling greens and many trails available at Butler Metro Park!
The park seemed okay. Many seem to enjoy this area though I found that it was just okay. The encampments of people at the edges detracted quite a bit from the park. I liked the view of the city at the water line and the area was easy to get to. There were some areas that seemed better than others for relaxing. I saw many people here which is always a great sing for a community park.
Awesome place to take the kids. They have a nice pond to. I will be going back definitely.
I’ve driven by here quite a bit and there’s way more in this area than I thought. Nice walking areas and city views. There’s a decent off leash area, only wish it was fenced in since my dog can’t be trusted. The dock area is great for dogs that love to swim or even to step in a cool off. There’s fun little fountain / sprinkler area but the dogs aren’t allowed. Parking isn’t too bad. There’s a lot by the 1st street bridge and more along Riverside.
The new childrens alliance garden in this park is AMAZING!! So many unique play structures and lots of green space to picnic in. Love that the parking is free but it is very limited so that is the only issue with this place. Had to park and walk 5 mins with my childrens past a homeless camp so that was a little scary but still. There is also a man who passes through with an ice cream cart at the park so that won us over completely, lol!
Beautiful place to see the city at night. Very nice park to walk as well and ride scooters.
Super nice in night. Beautiful skyline
Romantic park for a date and they just built a very modern up to date huge Playground for the kids which is almost complete. Great for catch and release fishing with walks around the pond and next to the long center and palm event center and across the street from Auditorium Shores Park.
A great place to relax and take the family, kids can run off all that extra energy
Chill vibe and excellent for a workout either running or watersports like kayaking or standup paddle board. Bring the kids they will have a great time with all the features have to offer.
This is a phenomenal park, well maintained and well laid out pretty much in the heart of the city... I brought my kids to fly kites after the main 4th events before we left... This park is a great example for any city to use.. I loved this place and will definitely return to continue to explore further..These pictures just dont do enough justice for this park...Highly recommended the veiw of the city is picture perfectA must see if in Austin
Nice little park for a quick walk in the park. Cute little ducky’s and turtles. Also might spot some blue jays!
Best childrens playground, huge in size that draws upon all the senses. Amazing city views to boot.
The scenery and private locations in this park are memorable and tangible.
Loved the park. Took a walk and enjoyed sitting under one of the many trees.
Loved the trail so many great spots to take photos of Austin Tx Beautiful Downtown Sky Scrappers
Greatest park on Earth..fabulous place to relax work so many seats..great river to go down...big spaces jyst the best park Ive ever seen after going to many major cities💙
Lovely park for all ages!!Plenty of shade for picnics and naps :) thank you
Kids can play here all day, albeit it was cloudy on the day we visit. It could have been much hotter on sunny summer day.
Beatiful place for ejercite
Walked through this park to see the Stevie Ray Vaughan statue. Found some shade under few trees to relax on a bench. Lots of dog walkers, runners, & bicyclists.
Nice place in the middle of the city. Good city view as well.
Very nice and entertaining for the kids..
Great park, nice splash pad and slides for the kiddos, very clean restrooms
Great place to take celebration pictures. Xo
Good place to have big events
Great place to walk around and tones of nice little places to take great photos.
