Nice, clean, Big, and wonderful temple of Mata Rani. Located near BKT in clean and green environment. Road is good till temple. Temple campus is big to hold thousands of devotees specially on Navratri Mela.

Recently road widening work has been done. The shops near temple have been assigned proper places. Cleanliness has improved considerably and the entire place seems to have got new amenities and maintenance infrastructure. Overall good experience and easy darshan even on Saturday evening.

The temple is located on the outskirts of the city.Parking space is quite big.A must visit place for seekers of every sorts.Prasad was not allowed inside the temple due to Covid thing. I went along my family and on the day of Christmas and it was quite crowded on that day. The crowd was more in number due to location of another temple of Lord Hanuman near Maa Chandrika Devi Temple.Overall great place to go with family.Do also try various eating places near the temple. It is said that elder son of Shri Lakshmana - the founder of Lucknow, Rajkumar Chandraketu, was once passing with Ashwamegh Horse through Gomti. In the way, it became dark and hence he had to take rest in the then dense forest. He prayed Goddess for safety. Within a moment there was cool moon light and the Goddess appeared before him and assured him. It is said that a grand temple established here during that era was destroyed in 12th century by foreign invaders. It is also said that around 250 years back some nearby villagers, while roaming in the forests, located this beautiful place- which was hidden with dense forests. Next day, a villager could locate the statue of Devi and it was placed at the present place. Later on, a temple was constructed and since then people continued to visit this temple and offer Pooja after knowing the appearance of Ma Chandrika Devi. This place is also known as Mahi Sagar Teerth

You may also enjoy the clay pot tea, indian matar and aaloo chaat, milk cake & peda sweet ( though have higher Sugar content yet tasty). It is suggested to take a walk of approx. 200m backside of the temple to reach the river and enjoy its tranquil flow. The ride of 11 km from the highway is add-on to all the experiences if you are a nature lover and traveller.

Temple is very good with nice arrangement to control rush and avoid stampede like situation. When we visited there were not a lot of visitors as it is Corona time. Temple is fill with roadside shops. Sweet was really good. Parking space is available before the temple. Little bit ladies shopping can be done there.
