It is a Council of Scientific and Innovative Research (CSIR) Institute. It is one of the 4 CSIR institutions currently in Lucknow (IITR,CIMAP, CDRI). It maintains Sikander Bagh, growing and preserving endangered and vulnerable plant species. It houses National Botanical Garden with pteridology, Gymnosperms, Algae, Bryophytes museum. It is carrying out field trials superior variety of cotton and other medicinal plants. It has lot of Peacocks which really heightens the beauty.

This is the best place is Lucknow for walking,jogging and exercising in the morning.I regularly go there.There are many different type of flowers that attract us towards the garden.Small fountains are also attached there for decorations.You can easily spot a peacock at this beautiful place.The entry ticket is only for Rupees 1.The full round is approx 1.2 kms.So if you are planning to get fit then this is the place which will help you.

Walk in fresh air with peacock greetimg the eyes at every turn is epic. Maintance is alittle shaaby but still its a park leaves and tress are deemed to fall. A very good place to connect to your inner self.

NBRI or simply the botanical garden is an amazing place for lovers of different kinds of flora. The place is huge and located in the heart of the city at rana pratap marg, hazratganj. It is a great place for walks and running as well as taking beautiful pictures of nature. People of all ages visit the garden and flower shows are organised frequently which are great. There isnt a proper place for parking and it gets crowded on sunday. Visit a little early for a rush free experience.
