Great place....Overwhelming portions, Me and my team love korean BBQ so we gave this restaurant a shout. We ordered a set BBQ platter and the amount of meat and veg was amazing! The taste was absolutely out of this world. We also ordered one of the Japanese pancakes. We struggled to finish it all and had to take half of the pancake home which the staff were nice about giving us a box to put it in. Compared to places we have been in central London this place is well worth going a bit out of town for. I would highly recommend. Good value for money. Staff very helpful
Worth your taste buds...I was looking for somewhere oriental to bring the family and landed upon this place cause it was nearby and had a mixture of two cuisines which was just perfect. They do say there is parking but we were not sure if you could park just outside or down the main road, we didnt risk it so went with the latter. The location wasnt hard to find, just one of the inside roads which leads to the restaurant. The interior was pretty nicely setup, had a nice aura about it.The main reason to pop down here is for the food, they had many options of the two cultures to choose from. The sizes of portions were larger than we expected, which meant we had to doggy bag just less than half of what we ordered.Food quality was rather good too, tasted pretty fresh that day.The staff were helpful in helping us with things we needed to know, which is a great help. They also do takeaways, we noticed that they had plenty of delivery drivers picking up food to be delivered meaning business was good.Highly recommend.
Great food and service! nice portion and varieties. recommend!
Beautiful food and generous portions. Excellent service and a very reasonable bill. Staff could not be more friendly. I would recommend it to anyone.
We had dinner at Yokoso tonight and we really enjoyed our meal. Everything was delicious and very tasty. Portions are quite big. Service was super fast! We highly recommend it!
When you cant choose between Korean and Japanese cuisine, have both! Ive been to this restaurant a few times now and it does not disappoint. Its cosy, relaxed and the service has always been great. If you love sushi and wasabi, I highly recommend the Hot Special Roll - Tower Bridge. Its the main reason I come to this restaurant and in my opinion, the best sushi special in London!
Cozy place in a quiet location to have a nice meal. Food tastes amazing staff is nice. Deff worth trying out best Korean food had in London so far, and portions quite big.
As a Korean, it’s hard to find a decent Korean restaurant in London but this one was pretty good. Nice atmosphere and decent price! Tteokbokki was very similar to what I eat in Korea and good portion.. but I don’t recommend sundubu-kimchi jjigae cuz it tastes more like ramen soup than kimchi taste what it’s supposed to be. I was disappointed of it but japchae was good.We sat at the edge and waiters seem forget about us even tho there were a few tables eating. We had to wait a lot.Overall food was fast but service was very slow.
Amazing food and service everytime. Huge variety of dishes to choose from (everything we tried was excellent) and pleasant atmosphere.
Amazing food, great service, by the river front
Enjoyed the hot bowl bibimbap so much, never had a bibimbap so hot!
Good selection, not super cheap since everything is imported in but worth it if you can find good stuff
Unfortunately the sashimi deluxe definitely did not worth £40 for 8 pieces of frozen and cheap- cut sashimi….
**I actually gave a 2/5 at first since my brother said the gyoza he tried was okay, but since speaking with management its become apparent a 2/5 would be too generous.Ordered via Deliveroo and my food was simply just no good. Tempura prawns were actually just raw, rice was gluggy and cold, pork was rubbery and inedible. Some badly done eggy consistency was on top although not listed on the menu - as it is at other restaurants or even on other items at Yokoso. If you ever wanted to spot an up-coming contender for Kitchen Nightmares, this is the place. I initially left this review on here using the wrong account and was told by them that I do not know what Japanese food is, that I should Google how to cook tonkatsu, and that they are not at all sorry. I dont feel the need to validate my opinion for Yokoso but just for the integrity of this review its worth noting Ive tried more than enough Japanese/asian cousine to know what I like. I know that Yokoso are wrong in claiming my personal preference as an excuse and saying I dont know what Im talking about. I love Japanese food, this just was not good food. Its quite funny tbh. If you scroll through the reviews here, you notice that any time there is a complaint the owners never apologise and instead come up with whatever excuse they can to attack the customer for their valid issues. My best guess, judging by older complaints that deliveries were slowing down dine-in orders and new complaints that deliveries are disappointing, is that deliveries are pre-made and sit on a shelf awaiting dispatch to Deliveroo customers. I don’t know how else the photos of food in store could look so fresh and appetising when the food delivered is the polar opposite.
Generous portion and ok quality. I love generous portion. Bibimbap is recommendable.
Used to live upstairs and have brunch there every weekend. Still visit whenever I can! Love the bimimbap and the sushi.
From the first time I ate at Yokoso (end of 2018, every two months), I ALWAYS enjoyed the dishes served there. Bibimbap is my favourite (of course). The sushis and sashimis are also excellent!I eat only well done food (eggs, prawns, meat) and the waiters always put my specific orders correctly for me. One time only (june20), I tried my usual Bibimbap with prawns, but it was not cooked enough for me, and I called them the day after to let them know my stomach did not like it. The gentleman apologized several times.Beginning of August, I took a friend there for her first take away treat after lockdown, and ordered some starters (I avoided the prawns this time). The order took much longer to come. I had the great surprise to see the waiter bring us our order + a complimentary Bibimbap with well cooked prawns+well done egg on top. This is beyond great customer service: I dont know how the waiter knew it was me that got unwell because of the prawns 2 months before ( the French accent probably), but he also remembered my favourite dish and kindly gave it to us with the most humble nod when he saw me speechless. To conclude, I highly recommend this place. The food is tasty and well served, the chefs at the back of house and the Master of sushis are definitely making sure that each plate is good and well presented, but also the lady and the gentleman with glasses on the floor have an excellent customer service, I repeat.Thank you again so much.
Overwhelming portions! Me and my partner love korean BBQ so we gave this restaurant a try. We ordered a set BBQ platter and the amount of meat and veg was amazing! Didnt seem frozen and taste realy good. We also ordered one of the Japanese pancakes. We struggled to finish it all and had to take half of the pancake home which the staff were nice about giving us a box to put it in. Compared to places we have been in central London this place is well worth going a bit out of town for. I would highly recommend. Make sure to take cash as they offer a discount if you pay with cash
Food is always good and the atmosphere especially by the river side is cute
Clean and quiet restaurant, the food is very good and the prices are ok
We visited recently and must admit its better than it was a couple of years ago, we stopped going as the standard of sushi was poor. But this time around thankfully it has improved. Not sure why they didnt turn on the AC it was 29 outside and one side of the restaurant is just glass. From what we ordered The Korean food appeard to be better tasting than the Japanese food. Its not overly busy and reasonably clean as well as being child friendly.
Walked to this restaurant only to find it’s closed, even though it’s still showing an opening and closing time on google
This restaurant is the bomb to me as it has both korean and japanese cuisine. I had veg bibimbab and spicy korean fried chickens, they were so tasty, came with big portion, and it is inexpensive. The service is excellent. Highly recommend this place.
Really good Korean BBQ, tasty food
I love Korean food and Im so glad I stumbled upon this place. They have a great samgyupsal and kimchi was superb! I ordered gyoza too, delicious. Best Korean/Japanese restaurant around the area! This place really deserve a 5 star review!
Food was very good and nice, place looks luxury, but the prices can get a little high if you buy to much.
Such a great variety of food and amazing service!
The place serves big dishes and for convenient rates. very kind staff members. Never disappointing.
Best place to buy something when in a rush. Their customer service is fast, rates are affordable, good vibes. I highly recommend this place
Friendly and quick service. Called ahead of time to make the reservation to make sure they could accommodate us and our requirements. Food is great and reasonably priced. Our server offered us suggestions when we asked for some help.
Ready quickly for collection. Well packaged. Awesome tasting korean fried chicken. Tried all three flavours. Plum sauce and honey flavour our favourite. Highly recommend.
The Yokoso restaurant is situated in a residential area and its far from everywhere else. The restaurant looked messy and it seems like the owners didnt care much about the decor and presentation of the restaurant. We ordered korean food and it was ok flavour wise. There are many better restaurants out there
Really nice hidden restaurant in a gated community. But the food tasted really good
Food was OK, the prawn curry was less okay then the chicken
Good food, good service
Got a takeaway from here and the food was really tasty. Was very happy with the portions and pancake was fresh. I am keen to order from here again and hope to try their hotpot as soon as they re-open for dine-in!
Friendly staff, very nice fooddrinks bit expensivewill return
Cold food over salty
The food here was brilliant, although I wish the menu was a bit more explanatory or better laid out. I wish there was a bit more atmosphere but with these COVID-19 times its a bit hit and miss with venues.
Delicious food, warmest of welcomes and great service everytime we visit. Would definitely recommend. :-)
A surprising find. Although Im no expert in Japanese or Korean cuisine, the menu looked like the real deal. In a party of 5, we tried a selection of dishes and none were less than delicious. Portions were fine and completely filling. As to VFM, our bill was great value, bearing in mind it included starter, main, dessert and drinks. Fabulous.
Nice food
Absolutely amazing food, beautiful place, totally recommend.
Beautiful placeGreat food and serviceAmbience, cutlery and crockery are great qualityGreat varietyBit pricey but no compromiseEnjoyed itWorth a try
Not easy to find but worth it. The only authentic Japanese or Korean food on the Isle of Dogs that Im aware of. Efficient and polite with proper self BBQ facilities and sushi. Menu skews to pork and crab, and the chicken is rarely just white breast meat so might not recommend to the fussy or those on strict diets.
Hot rolls are great. The portion of sashimi in the chirashi don was slightly underwhelming, but was still quite decent.
Found this place by accident during walk by the river and I highly recommend it. Hidden gem of Isle of Dogs. Delicious food and friendly staff.
Had fantastic time, the food is amazing and good value.
Decent mix of Japanese and Korean food. Service can be a bit slow as they also do delivery. There are better Jap/Korean restaurants but if you are in the area, this is a good choice
Really really good food, from the starter to the main which is all I had was very nice. Great service, friendly staff. Overall brilliant, i would recommend.
Loved it! Such great food 😁
What a fantastic dining experience! Food were delicious and fresh, reasonable prices, service was great and staffs are friendly and polite. I’m so glad I didn’t take notice of other bad reviews and actually try it out myself. And I will definitely go back.
We have been out for a birthday dinner and the food there was amazing!! We definitely want to go back and have one more time the beef teryaki and maybe also try other dishes as well!! Unfortunately just eat doesnt deliver to our area but is not too far from us so cant wait to go back!!
I absolutely loved the food and service, awesome location next to my house. The employees are always kind. Will come back again.
This spot never disappoints. They have great dishes for convenient rates, there no long wait even when they are loaded.
Quick service. Good food. Affordable prices. Friendly staff. Enough for me
We ordered take away from the restaurant and had wrong dishes delivered to us! We tried to call them but couldnt get through, and when we raised a complaint via just eat the restaurant refused to send the correct order. Cant say about dining in experience but our delivery experience was terrible.
Fanatastic service and great food.
Fantastic food
Reasonable price, Tower bridge and London Bridge sushi was nice to try. Also loved the Korean cold noodle, although it is not entirely authentic, it is unique in Canary Wharf area. Overall quality of food is good but the area can be a little more cleaner.
Service was great, contrary to some reviews (although we did come by when the restaurant was nearly empty) with very efficient and friendly staff. The food was also great, with VERY generous portions. We had a set from the korean bbq menu.Great overall experience.
Great food great ambience, good value for money, interesting location next to the river.many thanks
The food was okay. But the service was bad. Not enough staff and the staff was so aggressive. We wanted to order, they came with the menu books but decided to tell us that we couldnt order anymore because it was already 10pm, we were confused but understood. And then another table of two western guys ordered something and they were just writing down their orders in front of us. Then we decided to call them again to order but they said no. This was such an unfair treatment. And this would be the last time for us to come to this place again.
Very nice staff, food and price. Going to make my visits more regular.
Nice place, too bad they dont have seats with direct view towards the river. Its clean, staff is friendly. The deliveroo driver keeps driving past every 5min and keeps his mopeds alarm beep all the time. That really spoils what is otherwise a lovely place. The food is good, fresh. Some dishes are tiny so not always good value for money. You have to go through the menu to find the hidden gems.I would recommend nonetheless, but (if the owner reads this) please make your driver wait in the parking lot instead. Youre not working at a fish n chips shop.
Food was ok, however, the service was horrible! The brought us second and starters all together in 1 min, which means that all good was prepared in advance. They brought us the drinks 10 min after the food was served.
A real hidden gem. Delicious food, a huge choice to pick from and sensible prices. Popular with locals but you can always drop by and get a table. Definitely a weekly favourite. Try it. Youll like it.
Dined a couple of times here. Food is pretty good. I prefer the Korean options. We regularly order takeout and its generally pretty quick delivery compared to other places.
I used to literally love this place and order delivery quire frequently. However, I found worms (alive ones) in a salad I ordered this week. That was it. This place does not exist for me anymore. I will do my best to let people know about my experience. Thanks
Amazing service from the lovely staff there. Very polite and considerate. The food was great and the mojitos were so refreshing! I would definitely recommend this place and come here again with my family. Great customer service. Arigato gozaimasu!
Not recommended!! Not authentic Korean or Japanese restaurant. I came here looking to support a local restaurant but regretted it.I went here with a family of 9. I was extremely disappointed with the service and quality of food. The waitress even misheard our order by ordering us about 4 extra bowls of bimbimbap rather than the 1 we ordered. Then we also received 3 bowls of miso soup that we didnt ordered, which we were forced to pay for.
Very poor customer service, like the previous review states when something goes wrong they do not want to take ownership and rectify it I anyway. On a positive if you are looking for a good argument with a stranger around how bad you feel your experience has been then this is definitely the take away place for you.Enjoy!
Had the bulgogi bibimbap and yangyum fried chicken for dinner tonight.. authentically flavored ingredients, reasonably priced, and attentive service.. Ill be back the next time Im craving hearty servings of Korean food.
The kimchi jjigae and yukgaejang is delicious and its a decent portion size. The cheese and chicken is the ultimate comfort food too. Shame the chicken wings were over fried.
Would highly recommend the Korean fried chicken. Very good price and large portion of chicken wings.
Great views. Really quiet so youll always get a table. The food is adequately priced and really tasty. The hand rolls are a bit pricey though.
Visited shortly after a trip to Seoul and wasnt disappointed. The food was delicious and fresh, not quite as cheap as Seoul but cheaper than flying there and back! If you want authentic Korean food, this is the place to go
The place was almost empty so I didnt had to wait to long for the food. They have different options between Japanese and Korean food but the chicken ramen that I had wasnt that great, it was ok.I liked the drink section because the had quite different and unique alcohols and interesting cocktails but the one I had it wasnt decorated and I think they didnt mix with all the ingredients thats it said on the menu.As for staff, there was only a person on the floor who served people.
Dishes are nice. Staff are friendly however perhaps a bit slow. Been waiting a long time to get their attention so I can ask for the bill. Our drinks also was forgotten about. There’s a few people but it’s not the lunch time rush....
I get deliveroo from this place all the time - really great food. Korean chicken and beef ribs are great. The crispy duck sushi is awesome too. I spent £40 on a deliveroo dinner for 3 and we had way too much food!Highly recommended.
It has both Korean and Japanese food. Stuffs are friendly, food is OK.
Have tried this place many times. Gone through the whole menu. From bimbimbap, BBQ dish, raw beef dish, rice cake, dumplings to pancake.Food is tasteless and not fresh. The only taste you can possibly have is chilly. Main course is starter portion. I dont mind because I dont like their food anyways.Keep going back because my partner loves their spicy yet tasteless food. Not authentic Japanese / Korean food.Stay away.2 star rather than 1 because it seems reasonably clean.
Excellent choice and location, great service, and food came quickly. Shame it doesnt benefit from the river view very close by
