After many years of great service and great food it’s hard for me to say that on my last visit, after a two year absence, the food wasn’t up to scratch. The mussels tasted like they were fished out of the Thames and there was a lack of love and skill to the cooking that made me wish I’d spent my money somewhere else. As ever the cocktails and wine were lovely but unilateral conformity across all aspects of the business model, which includes the food, is what makes for a great bistro and good eating experience.

Go to Cafe Boheme for the ambience, if nothing else. The way the place is decorated - from the pictures covering the walls down to the lighting - makes it a perfect environment to enjoy dinner or drinks with friends. It really does feel like an upmarket French cafe.Staff were very friendly and attentive and were good at advising when they needed the table back for more guests. This was great as we didn’t feel rushed and when they did need to chivvy us along (after we had had the table for a good 2hrs) it didn’t come as a surprise. A really good balance of making sure we had everything that we needed, without being ‘too much’.Drinks and food were delicious and arrived in good time. I had the club sandwich and was very happy with it. Decent portion size and just yummy. Food menu is a little limited, which I didn’t mind, but fussy eaters might find it a bit restricting.Felt like good value due to the quality of the food/drink and the environment. I had a main and three glasses of wine and came to c. £40 with tip. Was very happy to pay that.

We had dinner here one evening in London, the atmosphere was lovely, candlelit and good music. I did have to send my burger back because it was burnt and we had a couple of hiccups with cold fries etc with the steaks but our server was fantastic, he was really apologetic and took my dish off the bill. He did also offer to get a fresh one made but I wasnt too bothered about another so the manager also came over and gave us a round of drinks for free too.The customer service was so good we would definitely come back even though the food wasnt perfect on the night.

Caution: do yourself a favour and avoid this awful place.Ive been a regular at Cafe Boheme for several years now, and am aware of the fact that they regularly change staff, and for this reason I did not dwell on the minor things that happen every now and then (e.g. rude staff, wrong orders, outdated milk in the coffee that gave me cramps!, etc...). Yet today, as myself and my partner drove there for coffee and food, I asked the waiter (who knows were regulars) if he could keep one of the outside tables for us for literally 2 minutes as I park up and return. He said of course, and even began cleaning the leftovers in preparation for our return. I go off, park up, pay for parking, only to return and find that the table has been taken. I ask the waiter and he says, yeah, its taken. Then someone else comes along, who said she was a manager or supervisor or something like that and, with an air of entitlement, tells us that they cannot reserve outside seats. I try and explain that I went into the whole effort of finding and paying for parking only because they assured me that they could, but all she did was to repeat herself like a broken record. As I got more and more frustrated, she blindly yelled into my face that they basically cant do anything about it and that we should just leave, while, at the same time, dragging on the other waiter to prevent him from making any explanations. Ultimately we went off and had our food & coffee elsewhere. This, however, is the WORST way that anyone can ever handle anything. Zero courtesy, zero manners and zero social or customer service skills. I mean, youre supposed to be the manager, manage the situation instead of yelling at me and repeating whatever insults you had to say. Its appalling, shows complete lack of respect or customer care, and we definitely wont be returning.I suggest you start by investing some of that 12% service charge into training your staff to gain some manners and basic communication skills.

Hit and miss experience. The venue and location is amazing, love the atmosphere. Its noisy, loud music, dim lights, candles. The wine selection is good and very reasonably priced. The food was hit and miss. The onion soup was delicious and a meal in itself! The crab starter was a little disappointing as the bread was overly charred. For main, the quiche had a gorgeous, soft buttery base but over-salted filling, and the Toulouse sausage with pomme puree was incredibly tough.Overall, I had a good evening so would definitely come back and try something else, but wasnt overly wowed like most people.

Geez, where to start with breakfast today at Cafe Boheme. I’ve been here numerous times for drinks but never for food. I ordered the veggie breakfast with a flat white. The breakfast arrived and it was cold, the coffee was an Americano instead of flat white, so I had to wait 30 mins for correct coffee. I asked for salt & pepper and sauce for breakfast, never arrived, and the toast was cold, dry with no butter. It was just a bit of shambles really. Lastly, to top it off I booked via Open table, the restaurant advised I didn’t turn up for my reservation! :-(

Service: as with many reviews, the services is slow and haphazard. They wont remember to bring everything ordered and despite not being busy on my recent visit, simple things took considerably longer than expected. This didnt happen with everything we ordered either, which was a mystery.Ambience: if youre hoping to have some personal space, look for somewhere else. Cafe Boheme was always known for cramming the customers in and even COVID hasnt been able to change that. The tables on the outside are apparently for 2-3 people sitting on a bench next to each other, but think of them as a large table for 1. Other peoples elbow, spittle, food scraps and cigarette smoke is shared with you. Youll be squeezed for legroom too. Apart from the above, its a nice place to sit facing the road and watch people walk past, under the umbrella.Food: this is an all day café without personality, faux French bistro, e.g. steak frites, burgers, salads, omelettes, etc. None is done well or presented beautifully. Greasy low quality food at best.Prices: they were never cheap, but since COVID they have become more expensive and there is the 12.5% service charge which is too much to ask when the service is bad and the waiting staff uninterested. Expect to pay £50 for a small lunch.

Was here today with the gf. We had pea soup and snails for our entrees and then steaks for our main course with a raspberry tart for desert. I also got a beer and Americano. The snails were overall fine, and the bacon with it was quite good. The pea soup was alright but i was not a big fan of it. Both our steaks were fine and overall decent quality. The raspberry tart was very refreshing and overall a nice desert. Americano on the other hand was fairly horrible, and i barely took two sips of it. The beer was of high quality. There was also live music which was great. The place was fairly noisy though.
