Lovely little cafe, had my first beetroot latte here and loved it.Hoping to go back once everything reopens, the shop front looks small but once you go up the stairs you get to sit in the upstairs or even the lovely garden area. Perfect for as a workspace away from home with delicious nibbles and beverages.
Very good food and reasonably priced. Staff very good.
This coffee shop is so delightful. The drink options are a-plenty and very well made, which in addition to the baked goods (I did not try any savoury foodstuffs, another time!) means Ill be returning non-stop.There are also some sneaky study rooms upstairs that you would not believe are available seeing how teeny tiny the place looks on ground level. Its wonderful and I wish I had a coffee shop such as this around where I live!
Absolutely love this place! The vibe is spot on and makes for a perfect place to have a coffee, eat a meal, and get some work done. During the day you can find an assortment of signature meals common in different commonwealth countries, and at night this place turns into an Indian restaurant. Throughout the day, you can find space to be productive. There’s an upstairs “workspace” and outdoor patio with seating. The ingredients found here are all sourced from common wealth countries. Also the wifi is fast and reliable. Don’t forget the stamp card to get your complimentary coffee after a number of purchases.
Interior and food are equally excellent treat! And the garden space is the best spot in the area!
Hidden café on Blackstone rd. Dont get confused by the surrounding fast food restaurants and corner shop, this café serve an excellent locally roasted coffee as well as delicious cakes. Cosy atmosphere, entirely dedicated to countries of the commonwealth. Big space in the upper floor and baby changing table on the toilets. Friendly staff (they allowed us to leave our buggy downstairs).
Lovely place and a gorgeous suntrap at the back! The food was superb - all elements cooked really well and seasoned with thoughtfulness. I thought at first the amount of pepper on the eggs and chilli flakes on the avocado was going to be too intense, but it was really tasty! Great to see they do veggie and vegan breakfasts too.We received a lovely friendly welcome when we arrived and great service throughout. My partner thought the coffee was great - and he likes his coffee! The only things that would have improved the rating I give is for them to warm the plates, as some elements of the food that cool quickly (eggs, mushrooms, bacon) were cold when they arrived. I also felt the tea was overpriced - more expensive than the coffees - and so I think £4 for a mug of tea with a splash of oat milk (50p extra) was a little much.Overall, loved this place and just a couple of small points to improve would make it outstanding.
I feel it’s very important that I leave this review. Earlier today I ordered a cup of skinny latte(served lukewarm) and Blighty India breakfast(overall tasted bland except baked beans). Since I arrived home, I’m stuck in the loo with upset stomach. The level of hygiene at this place is highly suspicious- A male staff was handling multiples of full bin bags, which smelled of strong detergent whilst I was eating(I sat right next to the upstair’s balcony). It was difficult to understand why this was done during business hours, especially when you clearly see a customer eating. Needless to say, I lost appetite, I asked a kitchen staff to pack the leftovers. But this is only the tip of the iceberg. I witnessed him sliding the leftovers into the box with his bare finger, three times. I was speechless but I was in a hurry to complain or anything. Now I regret so much for not saying anything at the scene. I can only recommend this place if you want to pay £11 for food poisoning. Just to let you know, this is the only meal I had so far today. Don’t make a mistake like I did!
Wow - what a breakfast! Possibly the best Ive ever had 😛
A lot of breakfast options salty and sweet, the place is cozy and full of details. The full English breakfast is massive and come at 9,9 pounds u get even bone marrow with it and fresh sauerdough bread. Coffee and lattes are just ok. The coffee is too sawer ( they might thinkt to change coffee beens) . Overall a good place to start your morning and to work with your laptop .
Ive been here twice and really enjoyed it both times. The full English breakfast (ordinary version, pictured) is one of the best Ive had in London, and although it feels expensive when you compare it to a more low-key café on the same street, I think the meal is worth the money. I havent tried any of the Commonwealth of Nations inspired variations yet, but I intend to at some point!I love the decor and general vibe of this place; its really comfy and theres a lot to look at. The aesthetic and little garden in the back makes it feel like a fun outing, even though youre just having breakfast.Since you order at the counter and take your drinks upstairs if thats where youre sitting, the process can be a bit cumbersome if the line is long. I didnt come in here on Saturday after Finsbury Parkrun (~10AM) for this reason. But when its not busy, this is not a problem. Staff are friendly.Nitpicks: you cant make substitutions, and on my second visit, the service was a bit slow. However, it wont stop me from coming again as an occasional treat.
Great selection of full English breakfasts, huge portions and good price. Staff are also lovely and the building is quirky and comfortable. Recommend if youre in the area and fancy some brunch!
Absolutely love Blighty! Dog friendly too
Great coffee. Good service.
Love this place! Have been a few times in the last month and it always impresses. Really friendly staff, exceptional coffee, great food and fun decor - they also have a nice outdoor space at the back and their homemade sauces are top draw. Highly recommend
The court yard is a lovely little space. I’ve been twice. The first time (about a week ago) the food was great, but the second time (today) it was way too salty. Not sure if they’ve changed chefs or what has happened, but I had to leave most of it as it wasn’t edible (particularly the scrambled eggs). Such a shame as will not be coming back now.
Cute quirky cafe. Definitely not a typical greasy spoon cafe. Throughly enjoyed every bite of my breakfast as well as chai latte. They will be seeing me again soon!
Designated area to get tickets for armed forces day tickets, stood waiting for 20 minutes and ignored even after multiple prompts
One of my favourite places in London for tasty brunch and great coffee! Few minutes walk from Finsbury Park station, this cosy coffee shop serves a great selection of breakfast/brunch dishes as well fresh bakery/pastry delicacies. Spacious garden area in the back is just the ideal place to read your Sunday newspapers on a sunny weekend!
Lovely little socially-conscious cafe with great coffee and excellent food. Have been here multiple times. Good seating area at rear and quirky decor. Lovely!
Yummy food and plenty of choices.
Great place! The staff is always so nice and smiley, and the breakfasts are amazing. Perfect place for lunch with friends or for working/studying. The garden is amazing in the summer (and there are even plugs there! as well as a roof if you dont want to sit in the sun). Great selection of cakes and fancy coffees. Im here regularly and really never had bad service or bad food/drinks. Well done folks!
Staff are wonderfully friendly and brilliant at making coffees. The food is tasty and cakes are delicious. The garden and upstairs are treasured escapes used by many different groups of people. The only thing I wonder about is whether this cafe is reading the room or not when it comes to rising efforts to decolonize and reflect honestly on what the commonwealth really means.
Amazing food. Totally worth it!Excellent customer service.Price is good. I think I found my new favourite place.I was greeted at the door. People came to me on the second floor to ask me what i want. We were checked On every 5 min to see if our needs are being satisfied. Thanks guys!
Food and ambiance were amazing. A lot of hard work went into this place and it shows.
Great breakfast, coffee and friendly staff.
Yes it is has delicious coffee, yes they have yummy cafe food including fresh salads, and yes when we are not in lockdown they have lots of great places to sit and chat or work, including a cafe garden out the back. What a gem.

First time to this lovely place. We sat in the garden out the back. Ordered the Aussie breakfast, best breakfast Ive had out I a long long time, and very good sized portions. The staff were all genuinely friendly and a nice chilled vibe. Will definitely be going back. Highly recommend it!!
Wonderful atmosphere. Great food. The service was amazing. They could tell that we werent used to the food on the menu and everyone was so nice and helpful. Will go there again!
The coffee was good and I like the atmosphere. But for a place with a kitchen I was expecting someone to actually cook, many elements of the dish I could tell they were just bought in, like the beans or waffles which is very disappointing; if they are not, please let me know cause I would be very surprised.
Such a lovely place! Their coffee and brunch are amazing, and now they even do dinner! All food is freshly made, any dishes can be made vegetarian /vegan, and spiciness can also be adjusted to your preference.Staff are super helpful and friendly and the place is cozy and chilled, you will not want to leave!
Perfect place to enjoy a cup coffee!
Delicious breakfasts and lunch in a quirky war Churchill era themed setting. Enjoy your Sunday breakfast outside in a bunker. They also offer fresh baked bread, their sourdough is my favourite and the croissants are delicious too. My husband very much enjoys their sourdough cinnamon rolls. And their ice coffee is top notch, they use cold pressed coffee and add milk.Ive also attended a few life drawing sessions here and feel they have a great sense of community!
Staff lovely but food is overpriced and the cafe is freezing and they don’t put the heating on :(Needs to be renovated, feels like ur in a student house. The windows and doors upstairs aren’t sealed properly so you get a breeze of cold inside.
Lovely cafe run by nice people, with a great look and feel. Three floors and a garden.
Wonderful staff, my favourite baristas! Always super friendly with the customer, even on busy days.Great spot for working during the week on quiet days. 🤓💻(Almost missing a real dog to pet)
Staff at the entrance weren’t friendly - although chefs upstairs on 1st floor were. In hospitality industry you can’t afford being unfriendly. Service comes first, food next! Given the history of cafe I’m guessing they’re friendly to their own type. At least we didn’t feel unwelcome.Nice interior decoration and garden at the back. The staff at entrance didn’t seem keen on saying hello or even taking our order so we had to leave. Luckily there are many other friendly local cafes.
Great coffee, brilliant breakfasts. The area at the front can be busy to get a seat in if we are coming with a pram. But when we can get in its great.
The people here are so nice and friendly! I came at 2pm last Sunday to work on my laptop. Ended up staying till the evening, and got to taste their very delicious dinner menu. Cant recommend enough :)
Absolutely smashing breakfast. Always gets our vote when we’re in Camden for a gig and stay at Finsbury Park travelodge overnight. Short walk round the corner for the best breakfast around.
Lovely vibe, great brunch! Scrambled curried tofu stood out for me. Homemade beans in tomato sauce, great poached eggs. The bacon and eggs sarnies looked great too.
Very cute venue with awesome food. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. I loved sitting around and talking to the locals and hearing of their travels. Loved the decor and the couch seating. Extremely comfy.
Such a lovely and calm place, perfect for having a lazy breakfast. The breakfast selection is amazing, just like the quality. Good music, good cafee, what else can we ask for? I would go there anytime again.
Had a great dinner at the Blighty cafe! Exceptional customer service and great food. We went for veggie/vegan dishes which were super-tasty (though the meat options looked amazing too!). Lots of choice and some unusual options on the menu to try...Well be back!
Lovely café, lovely atmosphere, sweet little garden terrace. The cinnamon bun I had was sublime. It was just a tad pricey, thats all. A hot chocolate and a bun is a bit dear at £6.
Had a vegan/gluten free breakfast here today and it was delicious. Full of flavour and interesting options. All other dishes looks great too, and big portions, you’ll leave stuffed!I liked the no nonsense menu and atmosphere.
Great place for coffee and food, with a new evening menu just started. Staff are super friendly - they want more people to know about the new food! Great fusion curries and vegan stuff too
A really cute Cafe with several breakfast options. If youre visiting and looking to try a full English this would be a great place to do so!
This is a good fry-up. Also more spacious than youd imagine, 2 seating areas + one outside, youll probably get a seat. The addition of bone marrow in the fry-up makes me very happy. Im glad there are people who know how delicious bone marrow is.
Yummy food, delicious coffee, nice staff. Service can be a bit slow from time to time but overall a friendly place that feels very homely and welcoming. Lovely garden out back. Lots of places to sit. I highly recommend it.
Nice courtyard out back with plenty of shade. Brunch food pretty good as was the coffee. Good quality sausage. Could really step up in the tea department though. Gumboot tea served in an ugly mug.
This is a great place for brunch, studying and just chilling. Outside garden is amazing when the weather allows. Quite a good diversity for hot food, and try the daily baked goods.I wouldnt go there to study on Saturday or Sundays though because it gets very busy and you might getting looks for taking over a table for several hours
This place isnt value for money in my opinion. Far too expensive for what you get. I get the whole trendy vibe to this concept, but your not that far off from a greasy spoon. Drop your prices and attract more people.
To celebrate Britains proud history and the achievements of the finest leader ever to walk the planet is always a wonderful thing! Great coffee, friendly staff and an uplifting atmosphere. Will be returning. Peace and freedom to all (something we have thanks to Churchill and the brave people who fought and died for it)
Great choice of cooked breakfasts here. The Full English is inevitably a favourite, complete with bone marrow, home made beans and great soss, but the full veggie comes with nicely cooked asparagus and perfect avocado. Had a little bit of food envy. The staff are great too. This place is really everything you need in a cafe, as long as you dont mind paying a bit more than greasy spoon prices.
Great place. Service and food are great. The cafe theme runs along the lines of a time when Britain reached out to the world and the menu has a worldly and diverse theme. The walk in entertainment was a little puzzling, featuring an immigrant getting the most of their right to free speech and right to peaceful protest - against the Britain of the past which prevented those very people from being exterminated or oppressed. Those people just need a big hug, around the neck, with a rope!
Very disappointing - the bacon was not crispy on either my eggs ben, nor my friends pancakes; the addition of creme fraiche and icing sugar also made the pancakes way too sweet. Soggy streaky bacon is really not appealing and pretty much ruined the whole breakfast. Two stars because the orange juice was freshly squeezed
Wonderful! I love their coffee and brunches. Good quality and full of flavour and vitamins. Also, I love the terrace and the atmosphere, look for the big bear if you go! Lovely to have such a nice cafe just around the corner.
This cafe was recommended by some friends and I was not let down. Incredible service, amazing atmosphere. I recommend it wholeheartedly and next time I am in the U.K. and in London I’m making a point of making it a repeat visit and a regular place to visit.
The place is well decorated and the people serving are very kind. The food is tasty, really big portions and they have good veggie options. Totally recomended place.
I have not been to a better cafe in the world thus far. Cavernous, cool and the sort of place where you can really make yourself cosy for some hours without feeling uncomfortable. And the garden..... this place is enormous... like some super-cafe that somehow maintains an authentic charm. Their special Full English breakfast (also available for lunch) came with oven baked bone marrow served in the bone. Not one for the vegans but this was the tastiest morsel Ive chowed for many moons. Ill be back. Loads on offer for veggies and vegans nonetheless. Sensational.
Wonderful little local cafe. nice decor, staff and atmosphere. will definintely be back
Great food, all of the English Breafast derivatives are great, same for the coffee. Freshly baked sourdough, kinda hipster decor and generally filled out with chilled people. Perfect place for a hungover breakfast. They also have an awesome garden.
The place it’s original English theme and environment. The food and coffee it’s perfectly delicious, the service is fast and the staff it’s very friendly and smiley. The music it’s also perfectly selected and tasty. I could spend my entire day here relaxing.
Amazing place to visit as a Canadian in London. Chris Evans is a great host, and the quirky cafe is a great place to have a cuppa. Try to grab a seat next to Sir Winston! The owner is planning two more cafes Viva the Blighty!Only in London you ,...Pity!
