Wee gem of a place..Simple small and friendly family restaurant selling wholesome Indian food. Exactly what I was after. Will definitely return when back in this part of London. Some interesting pics on the wall of characters who have visited over the years (Ali, some blues guy, Roy Orbison etc.) And this old fella who sat next to me (see pic) who has being dinning there since the 60s lol...

I went with my office colleague who discovered this place on Google. As we sat in the place for 10 minutes we realized it was pretty old place established in 1954. Famous Indian actors of the 60-70s had visited the place. Since the place involves a bit of walking from the busy street it is cheaper compared to other Indian restaurants. A typical Indian meal, 2 main course veggies with naan roughly costs around 40 GBP. We started of with Gin and Tonic with some Indian starters to go along. Definitely recommend this place if you are Indian tourist and want to enjoy the Indian food at a reasonable cost.

Very friendly service here, and there were lots of tables with straight guys( despite its close proximity to a notorious gay club)-- perhaps taxi drivers like it?I was looking for very mild dishes, but even then the aubergine side was far too hot for me, despite their assurances. But then Im a wimp anyway..

Absolutely terrible for takeaway. Forty-five late with most of the items missing. At least on JustEat it looks like the reviews are fake and it mightn’t even be the real restaurant. The food was honestly the worst papery and brown Indian food I’ve ever had. Avoid this place, at least online.

This was a great experience. The place itself looks very humble, but the food is amazing! We had starters and a main. The chicken was so tender and perfectly seasoned. Both our mains were very well presented and tasted better than any Indian Ive had so far.Thata just the food though. The hosts were very accommodating and friendly.Recommend this place 100%

Traditional old style Indian restaurant, look and feel of the eighties but in a good way. Good food with a wide selection to cover all tastes, not that expensive considering the location and the fact that its very popular, only one or two spaces free when we visited on a Thursday evening. Small so may need to book or arrive early if theres 6 or more in your group. Very friendly staff. Will go there again next time were in the area and looking for a good Indian.

Sadly the worst curry Ive ever eaten. Started with what tasted like bottled chutney and should have been fair warning. Butter chicken and Rogan Josh were bland, boring milky curries that looked like they came from a Tesco jar. Naan was ok and homemade, but everything else seemed like it was supermarket bought. Over priced after all that - price was reflective of a popular curry house which this was far from.

The food was a disappointment but the service was great. It might have been that they were too busy and receiving a supply delivery at 9:30pm. I like that it is family owned and run so I fee obligated to support them. I wouldn’t order the butter chicken and the briyani is rice mixed with curry not proper briyani.

No idea why this place has such a high rating. Just had (by far) the most terrible Indian meal of my life. Precooked chicken breast in bland yellow sauce labeled as butter chicken, the garlic naan was old and flavorless and the veggie samosas seemed frozen/not homemade. The first warning was the extremely bland and watery mango lassi. So strange considering this place has all the markings of an authentic hole in the wall with the reviews to match. Also didnt encounter any of the friendly servers mentioned in other reviews.

Unprofessional behavior.First they took the order and then when 2 Britishers came, they told us that minimum order is 10£ per person and the lady said that they are there to do business, assuming that we wont be ordering much to the britishers.Really ashamed of this behavior from them as I didt know that people from India behave like this. Racism at its heights by indians for indians.Remove sacred name Agra from restaurant name if you just want to do business. Shame!Or simply put Indians not allowed :)

Review №74

Yes it is a bit scruffy with old toilets that deserve listed buildings status. I have never had grumpy service, agreed it is not the awful fawning service many new wave restaurants inflict on you with their insistence that you enjoy. But the food is top notch and excellent value for money. I benchmark other retaurants against it, some equal, a few better but most not as good and many by a big margin. They would not be full and turning people away in the evenings if it was not so good.
