Lovely experience at this branch. Attentive informative staff. We were made to feel very welcomed and our many questions about the menu was not a bother at all!We ordered the lunch time special selection. Food was delicious! However we did find the dumplings a tad salty as were the miso mushroom soup.We fell in love with the prawn tempura and pork ribs. If you fancy a non alcoholic refreshment I highly recommend ‘The ginger ninja’ a personal favourite of mine.Top tip:If you opt for the selection of sorbet,I recommend ordering a shot of vodka on the side and pour it over your sorbet in a small bowl. You won’t regret it! ;)Pricey for a quick lunch but hey, it’s ROKA

The whole experience was a really positive one. We were welcomed really nicely and were seated very quickly. The staff were really attentive and made excellent suggestions on what to order. The food was delicious (the dumplings are a must for everyone) and the cocktails were really yummy.Shout out to Christina that brought a surprise birthday dessert. That really tied up the whole evening

Went on a Sunday for the brunch in the evening. The way it works is the starters are for sharing and you can re-order any of them again as part of the brunch deal. It also includes one main dish and deserts to share at the end. There is nice variety of starters, I especially liked the prawn maki and the fried chicken was succulent and juicy. For the main I paid an extra £16 for the lamb cutlets and to be honest that was probably the least tastiest, I found it bland and dry. I tried some of my friends Black Cod and Wagyu beef which is the better option if you wanted to pay extra. We received excellent customer service there and overall had a great experience.

Visited a few months back, not the first time and wont be the last - fantastic place for an occasion. Food was excellent as before and the revised brunch style of serving all the dishes to the table worked well as opposed to the buffet. A call out to Simone and his team for the attentive service - an exceptional call out to them as the dealt with my sons allergy specific needs fantastically. They revised the childs menu, ensured he was comfortable with the food he was served and he was provided with a feast which he really enjoyed! Photo here of the dessert serving sums it all up!

Would highly recommend!!Exceptional food, drinks, customer service and ambience. 10/10 The food was mouth watering! *chefs kiss*Prawns tempura, calamari, lamb, prawns and avocado sushi. You won’t regret!I’ll definitely return back soon. We attended last minute for my birthday meal after being failed miserably by another restaurant nearby. No mistakes were made in attending. Roka I can only thank you for saving my birthday! We had a blast!

Wonderful. Perfect for a classy date night. Booking in advance is highly recommended. As for dress code, most people wear smart clothes, and many women wear heels and cocktail dresses.Once we arrived, we were welcomed by reception staff, who asked us to wait at the Roka bar until our table was ready. We didn’t have to wait long, and they gave us a table close to the open kitchen so we could see the chefs cooking. Just a warning: the chefs are apparently instructed to shout at every new customer that comes into the restaurant (just like in Japanese izakayas) so be prepared to be startled occasionally - I recommend requesting a table away from the kitchen in advance if this bothers you.We had the premium tasting menu (£90 each) and it was absolutely delicious and worth the price. We did find that two dishes were a bit of a filler, but the other dishes in the menu made up for it and justified the high price. The sake was great, really worth a try.Service was great, the waiters always noticed us even if we sat in the corner and always wiped our table after every course and provided us with clean plates. The toilets were also very clean.Would recommend!

Okonomiyaki is not on the menu. I asked the waitress if she would ask chef to make okonomiyaki. She said she would, but that chef would say no. Did she ask? I will never know. The asparagus was delicious. The sea bream was delicious. Couldve used more water to drink, but overall, very good.

We took the tasting menu, the food was alright , the sashimi was fresh however the miso soup was watery and blank, also the heavy spoon keep making the bowl falling. For the price paid we expect to not have to eat next to a dusty hole wall with some left over...Also please change your cheap takeaway chopstick to a better one.

I absolutely loved this place, I went for bottomless brunch and it was absolutely worth every penny, you get a bellini to start then choose your bottomless wine. Then you get starters, chicken, dumplings, sushi etc, the starters are also bottomless so you can reorder as many times as you want. 😉 then they ask you to choose a main from the menu. a small tip they dont have rice or any other sides on the menu, but you can order rice just by asking and they will happily give it to you. Then comes the dessert very varied and all delicious! If you get a chance to go please do! Delicious food, I left feeling stuffed and took most of my main home as I filled up on starters. Lol

Well organised, friendly and professional. The sushi was nothing special, just average in my opinion. However, the baby back ribs, the crab, black cod and prawn gyoza and beef fillet, chilli, ginger and spring onion were all superb. The chilled iceberg lettuce salad with caramelised onion dressing was crisp and sweet and something different. The semi fatty tuna sashimi was melt in your mouth stuff.Desserts were creative and very tasty, almond creme brulé and chawan mushi with strawberry and honey is also a winner.Head there and enjoy!

Wanted go take out star our because of how cold it was but it would not be fair since it’s the government requirement that before 17th May, only outdoor seating is allowed so we’ll put the star back. Also Canary Wharf is always cold anyway...This is the first restaurant we went to since the opening. We went 12th April which was the first day they opened. Everyone was nice and helpful and can tell that they are trying their best even after monthssss of now having to work and probably no practice. All in all, customer service is excellent! We had the normal tasting menu for £75 and that’s a lot of food but really enjoyed all of it! The sushis were high quality and so as the tempura, grilled meats and desserts. Roka has always been a favourite since we arrived in the UK, we also love their delivery menu and they almost became comfort food for us. We also recommend getting a bottle of yuzu sake with the food!

Food is great but service is ridiculously slow. Arrived early for our booking and were kept waiting at the door 10+ mins past our reserved time. Meanwhile, there are plenty of tables free and other families walked in and were taken to their seats - whilst we stood around waiting for the ones we reserved.Once seated my course took so long to come out that my family had all finished their food by the time it arrived. This simply is not what you’d expect from an up-market restaurant like this. When it finally came I was brought the wrong thing and tried to tell the waiter it must be someone else’s but he didn’t speak English. Nothing against him at all, but it’s Roka’s responsibility to hire staff that can communicate with diners. Also not a mask in sight amongst the staff and there’s no concern for social distancing. Again, not what you’d expect. All the food is incredible but the service standards here simply aren’t up to scratch.

One of the best places in Canary Wharf for an intimate setting with wonderful decor. Drinks at the bar is great for a more of a vibe. Food does come out at different times due to the number of kitchens, but on this last visit the food was just ok, with portions on the small side. The service was great, even for last seatings, with attentive wait staff who remind polite throughout. Definitely worth a visit when in this part of town especially post lockdown.

Incredible food, great service and a wonderful atmosphere. Located right in the centre of Canary WharfVery helpful and understanding of my allergies, and knowledgeable about the menu items. Gluten free dishes were marked on the menu and there was only 2 dishes containing dairy.I especially enjoyed the warm Sake, the miso soup with shiitake and the Sea Bream. Flavourful, light but filling dishes unlike anything I EVER had before. When I saw the ££££ I thought this place would be way out of my budget, but we managed to have a date here with 2 starters, 2 mains and a carafe of sake for just over £60, and it was absolutely worth it. I have dined out at restaurants for a similar price in the past, and didnt feel I got half as much for my money. We bought the cheapest versions of each course but that by no means diminished the value of the food. I would go back for that sea bream anyday. I never knew fish could taste so good!

This first floor restaurant is beautifully appointed and service here is excellent. Two set lunchtime menus are on offer; the ‘signature’ at £33 per person and the ‘premium’ at £42. Both menus include five first course dishes to share (a selection of sashimi, maki rolls and gyoza) followed by one choice of main course per person. We went for the premium option and weren’t disappointed; lovely food, beautifully presented. My only disappointment was that the rooftop terrace bar wasn’t open; only available for event hire apparently. Seemed like a waste of a lovely space to me.

Good service and huge restaurant with classy atmosphere. I would say the food is of superb quality but taste wise, it’s run of the mill. Good location, nice layout. Portions are small and a little over priced. Buffet options were a fairly limited, and some hot food options were cold. Chicken wings were not cooked thoroughly - still pink/red inside. Food at buffet wasnt properly labelled so we had to ask what things were and what was inside them. We had to keep asking for wine top ups (we opted for the second option brunch which comes with bottomless wine).Dessert was really good - beautiful fruit platter.

This meal was eaten at the beginning of this year but finally had time to write this up lately. As I have not seen my friend in decades, he suggested going to Roka for a special treat where we were allocated to sit on the corner which was good.I had no idea what to order or what was the best so my friend ordered the 15th anniversary premium tasting menu which had a bit of everything including dessert. Each course came beautifully and the server explained what each dish, however some dishes I couldnt quite catch what it was because it was quite noisy but I managed to get a photo of the tasting menu we had.Interestingly the scallops came twice but the server already left before we could tell him.Dessert ended in an indulgent way because it was a huge platter with so many items!!!It was definitely a great dinner with my friend on a rainy night.

Hugely disappointing experience all in all, considering the top prices and the location in the heart of Canary Wharf! The food was most sub-par, unimaginative, with ill-inspired combinations of ingredients and flavours, served in ancient, worn out, scratched, chipped and ugly plates and bowls (see photos). We ordered the Premium Tasting Menu which cost £90 per person (no drink included). The portions were meagre, tiny! The waiting service confused and confusing, with poor and superficial knowledge of the dishes on the menu. The sommelier also not very sharp on his knowledge of the available wines! The ice-cream scoops served as part of the dessert were uninspiredly placed on a small slab of ice, making the serving a chasing race against the slippery and small icy surface (see photo). The restaurant has no (proper) air conditioning, and as it got completely full by 8pm, the air became hot and stuffy. Also, the noise of hubbub from all tables, reflected by the surrounding wooden wall and ceiling pannels, made any normal conversation around the table impossible. No exaggeration.
