I was hesitant to visit this restaurant because of the reviews I have read. But I had no choice because my friend demanded to give it a shot. The service was beyond amazing as soon as we sat we were given the menus and few minutes later someone came to take the order. It didnt take long since we got our order and the meat was beyond perfect. It was my first time to try Korean cuisine and it definitely exceeded my expectations! hopefully will be going here again!

The dining experience can only be given two stars, and the ambiguous red light makes it impossible for customers to see the food. My friend and I ordered sweet and sour pork, pork fried rice and spicy beef soup. Sweet and sour pork came first, a very nice dish, but then they gave us chicken fried rice and the waiter told us they had no pork (where did the sweet and sour pork come from?). The spicy beef soup has no flavor other than pepper. A table of guests complained to the waiter about the price, but the waiter commented on the customer in his own language when the customer left. Wont be back again.

Been going here on the weekend for the last few weeks. Place is very slap dash and the waiters are a bit skiddish and amateur with the teenager who works there coming up and just asking What do you want? But am I a Ken who thinks thats a negative? Lmao no. It adds character to the place, I order what I want and the wizards down stairs usually blast it out in less than five minutes. Seen some people say its not well cooked or gets cold etc but NEVER happened for me ever so far. Genuine Korean food very enjoyable. Im trying to go different places when I can but its just an easy location in Bold Street among all the busy outdoor serving going on. Would recommend.

Food was okay, only went cause I was craving Korean food and its the only place in town that I know of. The attitude of the waiters are very bad, the guy was so rude for telling us off cause we ask if we could get a new grilling plate, and blaming us for not telling him the water below it has dried up, which we cant even see if he didnt remove the plate?????And like other reviews have mentioned, the staff wasnt very attentive, we asked for water and when they served the food they didnt even give us utensils, ended up we had to walk over to get it ourselves and the restaurant wasnt even busy at the time

I really enjoyed it there. I understand the low reviews for poor service as the majority of staff struggle with English. The food and experience of it was still great in my opinion. I would go again as it is great for groups.

Customer service was not great.For someone whos never been to a Korean BBQ or is new to it, no support was given especially when there could be a potential risk of cross food contamination.Not one single person came or asked if everything with the food was okay.However this all could just be, a one off and from some other reviews they had completely different customer service, I am sure in the future we will try again and will have a different outcome.However the rice & variety of food was great and it was a different experience to other restaurants making it unique.

Food is really disappointing, like the other reviews have already said - no authenticity whatsoever.Food was ready in about 3 minute, tasted like it was warmed up and not fresh. You are paying a premium in comparison to other Asian restaurants in this area, and its not worth it.Walls are covered in stains, needs a good clean up in general.Staff were nice, but not very attentive.

I’m going to review the features within this restaurant and then give my final review. Starting with:Customer Service: The customer service within this restaurant was good. The members of staff were nice, friendly and eager to provide assistance / services when called to. The member of staff who served us did so with a smile – which is always appreciated and helps create a sense of ease and welcome.Food / Menu: The menu has a wide range of options to pick and choose from and also caters for vegetarians (for those who may be wondering).Atmosphere/Look: I really enjoyed the consistent aesthetic present within this restaurant. The lights and lighting, the tree, candles and overall layout of the restaurant is quite pleasant to look at and makes for great photos. The atmosphere inside is calm and relaxing, but the best part of it all is the music. I found myself wanting to know what soundtracks they were playing as the selection was really good and contributed towards the overall vibe of the restaurant.Queues: I visited this restaurant late afternoon and I didn’t have to deal with any queues or lag in customer service. It’s good to see that the members of staff were able to provide extra-attention to their present customer as a result of this.Hygiene: The restaurant was kept clean, tidy and in god shape. There was nothing bad to pick on or point out. The same goes for the food, plates and cutlery – it was all good.Summary: I really enjoyed my time in this restaurant. The music, customer service and diverse plate menus are more than enough reasons for me to recommend Ban Di Bul to anyone interested or wondering if they should try it out.

Phenomenal dining! The food is very well prepared, simple Asian flavours make it delicious. The bbq banquet is definitely recommended, the grill is in the centre of your table and raw meats are brought to you along with delicious kimchi selection and vegetables. Its a brilliant and fun way to eat dinner!Inside the restaurant is well decorated and atmospheric is super chilled. Beatles and Clapton over the speakers helps with that!The staff here were very friendly and attentive, well deserving of generous tip, which is good because service charge is added to the bill already. Just a point for information.

Just love it, stumbled on this and remembered there was one in St Peters in Manchester that I am yet to try. Had the Kimchi Stew and it was fabulous, rich and had a wonderful depth of flavour. Will be visiting Manchester next as my Liverpool trip was a day trip but loved this and would definitely go again!

I visited here for my birthday meal, I loved the interior and the location is ideal. I feel like the staff could be a little better trained as they all seemed like it was their first day working in a restaurant. We ordered the BBQ set and I love being able to grill it yourself. I do feel the food could have been fresher, particularly the cucumber kimchi. The yukgaejang was particularly delicious though. I would visit again but perhaps order different things. You dont go to a restaurant for the service but if they just gave them more training it would really help the overall experience.

Ordered the Korean BBQ for 2 people. After waiting 15 minutes for our order to be taken and no acknowledgment from staff, we asked and we were next to be served. After ordering no starters from the menu, we were served the soup and kimchi only and told to enjoy? I dont know about this but authentic Korean BBQ you get served everything at once and tuck in. So again we had to get staffs attention who seemed un happy to work let alone smile. We then get served the meat, which was fatty and tough rather than marbled beef like shown in the images on the menu. Very disappointed. The green tea we ordered off the menu was NOT green tea and had a strange odour. If its not green tea why advertise it as that on the menu? As we had the grill, it was changed during the meal and as you can see from the photographs it was placed into a dirty uncovered bowl of water instead of taken downstairs to be cleaned immediately by the kitchen. Im no health critic but this was very concerning that this was left this was for the duration of us sitting by it. Just save yourself the stomach ache DO NOT GO, unless you like overpriced fatty meat and bad customer service!Date of visit: Sunday 23rd December 2018

Disappointed. We ordered two dishes marked as vegetarian on the menu (veg. kimchi pancake and veg. omelette), explained to the staff that I was a vegetarian so it was important that the dishes are for vegetarians.Turns out the omelette had seafood in it, we call the staff to show them the seafood: their response is to deny that it is not vegetarian. Thankfully my friend is Korean and explains them about Korean food/ingredients (weird thing to do in a Korean food restaurant, I dont think the customers are supposed to do that). The staff was not Korean so that could be an excuse for not knowing what is in the food, but the fact they tried to claim we were lying does not help their case.Finally, the staff took the bespoke seafood omelette to the chef to confirm whether it was vegetarian or not. After 10 minutes they come back with a new omelette that is put on the table without further explaining.Needless to say that in the meantime I have lost my appetite as Ive been a vegetarian all my life and have just eaten seafood. Furthermore, how do I trust that the pancake was vegetarian as well? I just want to get out and drink some coffee to forget about it.I decide however, not to pay for the omelette as I did not order it, no-one offered some kind of gesture of goodwill and I no point did I see any sympathy. At the cash point I discover that the staff expects me to pay for it, or at least the new one they brought me without asking if I wanted it. To make a long story short I denied paying for it (still paid for the other dishes though) and am very disappointed about this experience.I presume it is okay to go there if you are not a vegetarian, but I have seen quite a few reviews about customers getting the wrong dishes, so I suppose that is a risk you have to take going there.

This is the worst restaurant I have ever been to. The food are expensive and small portion, the staff have to confirm again and again to customers’ orders, and fail to deliver them.The pork in the picture cost £8, I can use that amount of money to buy 3 times of that portion.

Decent food, but there are only 2 staffs in the whole restaurant during busy hour. It takes 20mins to be seated even we had reservation. The grill need to be changed after a few rounds and we waited half an hour to get the new one. If you’re in a rush, probably not the best option during eat out to help out scheme.

I had a table booked tonight for 6:30pm turned up 10mins before and was told that we didnt have a table then the guy walked off. I stood around for a few mins until he came over again to the till, I asked again is our table ready and showed him the booking confirmation but still they said we will have to cancel your booking. Amazing restaurant, food is delicious and full of flavour! Love the fact that you can cook your own food in the traditional Korean way (you can also order cooked food), the staff helped us cooking it as it was our first time. It is good that the whole menu has pictured of the dishes along with suggestions of what to order from each section. We truly enjoyed the experience and felt like having a Korean experience. Great addition to Bold Street.

Looks very traditional and the prospect of cooking your own food on the hot plate is appealing.But again, like other reviewers, the service is truly awful. I was sat for 20 minutes without my order being taken. Then I sat for an hour, no food arrived and then they said that they lost my order.When they did bring my food, they got the order wrong.Absolutely ridiculous. Probably the worst restaurant experience I’ve ever had.Food/meat clearly of a low quality - very fatty. Half inedible.

Ive eaten here a couple of times and had a few issues with long waits but the food has always been worth the wait.Tonight Ive had the worst dining experience ever.We booked a table and despite there being an empty table, we were left standing until another table left and they cleared the plates (both tables were the same size btw). Then we waited 45 minutes for our orders to be taken.Honestly if we hadnt been so excited to get back we would have walked out. I appreciate things take a little longer with Covid measures in place but 45 mins to order is ridiculous.When our food finally arrived the bulgogi had WAY too much pepper in it, that was all you could taste and it ruined the meat. Our food arrived before our plates and chopsticks, which we had to ASK FOR! Nobody came to check if everything was alright with our meal so I had to go to the bar to ask for the bulgogi to be replaced.About 10 minutes later someone came out to ask about the food. We explained what was wrong and they the waitress went to speak to the kitchen. When she came back she said the kitchen have said theyve not done anything different. Then I had to ask her to take the plate back so the kitchen staff could taste it.When she came back the answer was its always been made this way. Weve eaten here a number of times and always had the bulgogi and this tasted nothing like it. Bulgogi is meant to be slightly sweet, not leave a spicy aftertaste because theres too much pepper.We used to ignore the customer service reviews because the food was always nice but we wont be going back, well be going to Angel on Hanover Street a lot more often instead.

Awful food, the spicy squid tasted just like it had a hot sauce poured over it and no other flavors, the rice was poorly cooked and squashed together in a tiny steel bowl, when I tried to explain they bought a dish out that I did not order the waitress argue with me aggressively so sadly it was also awful service. Overpriced and was still hungry when I left the place! will not be going there again 😡

Absolutely terrible customer service. Food took too long to come in and there was no apology or update. Literally had to request cutlery after food got shoved on the table.The actual meal itself was too dipped in oil. We Just had half of it both ways.I hope the staff get better at customer service. No wonder it was the only place that had lots of spaces for the night.

Heard of this place for a while so had a evening visit for Korean BBQ.The food especially starters - kimchi is much over priced! £3.5 for 5 tiny pieces while you only need to spend 75p in another authentic Korean take away place in Liverpool! The same does to the plain steam rice, lettuce(6-7 pieces leaves even doesn’t look like lettuce), even Korean wheat tea? Which is ridiculous these stuff are free charge in normal Korean restaurants especially you have barbecue.We ordered top rated dish. The flavor is ok, but the food portion is small. Again, the most over priced and charged restaurant we’ve been to in Liverpool!Service attitude is ok but the staff is forgetful and not observant at all.Anyway, definitely not worth going again.

Pretty awful restaurant. Food is very mediocre and expensive.Flavours are completely different to what you would find in Korea.Kimchi which is usually a very cheap dish is £6 on the menu. Grossly overpriced.Staff dont even know the name of their own menu items and some orders are simply forgotten all together.Would not recommend at all.

Had better. Ordered from the BBQ menu, excited to grill our own food. Only to be given a plate of ready cooked meat, a third of which was bone.Fairly expensive for what you get, and the chopsticks provided are such an awkward shape, using them is often painful.

I visited the restaurant today I have never seen such a bad customer service!!! The food was served very late to our table and the food was terrible.You better go for the take away!! We were ignored and no apology made to us at all. Wanted to speak to the manager but the Asian waitress ignored me and again we asked. Then she told us that he is in meeting on a Saturday!!!??? She didnt even apologise about this. Please, dont even consider coming here!

Ordered the kanpunggi. Clearly mass produced chicken balls, in some bland sauce. Easily the worst kanpunggi Ive ever had - it wasnt spicy at all.Also had the chicken bibimbap which was also bland. The gochujang sauce had been pre stirred into the rice but they hadnt used enough so it didnt really taste of much.I love Korean food, its meant to be spicy and flavourful, this was the opposite. Would not recommend.They also have 3/5 stars food hygiene score which isnt great is it.

Tried this place recently, Unfortunately was very disappointed with the food - Ramen seafood soups, it was very bland and had no flavor, tasted like warm leftover watery broth even the shrimp and muscles in it was just boiled and had no flavor. We even asked for additional seasonings and after all that it still had no taste. Besides this every table has a grill set that allows you to grill your food to your liking, although we did not choose the option, the vent to the grill just over the table kept making a clinky metal sound through out the entire meal and it was very irritating.Pros: Friendly staff. The service was terrible. Had to ask for our menus as they forgot to give us any. Then our drinks didnt come for like 30mins, even coming back to tell us they didnt have coke and instead only had diet which tasted more like water and cost us more on the final bill.When the food did arrive it was ok, but i wouldnt rave about it and the gas can ran out a few mins into cooking.Then at the end of our meal the 10% service charge was added on the end and normally i would of been happy to pay it. But since there was no service to speak of after having to ask for everything including the new gas can, i wasnt happy.We spoke to the lady at the end about the service but only got a quick sorry.
