Absolutely stunning meal delivered by two lovely lads, one even apologised for using a car because his bicycle had broken.The meal we ordered was amazing, the best Indian meal we have had in Leicester. I ordered butter chicken the chicken pieces were hard and the dish was very sweet no spice at all the beautiful red colour of a butter chicken was pale red the colour of blended fresh tomatoes. No coriander in the dish or as a dressing.I was looking forward to it but it was a let down.I have had butter chicken from different places and it’s always mild and a little sweet. Felt like I was eating chicken in a desert.

Food was just alright nothing exciting, one of the dips was ketchup with onion chopped up in it. Also no drinks except water, you can take your own but you would prefer to know before hand.

Shocking absolutely shocking. My friend was there before me and he ordered the Popadoms. After tasting them he said theyre not good and we asked for fresh ones. Waiter returned and said they are all the same thats all we have. Only 2 dips on the pickle tray one was onion with tomatoe sauce. Starter was tough and chicken smelt off. Didnt eat it. I asked for a chicken masala but spiced up and garlic in when arrived it was so sweet no garlic but with whole chillis just thrown in. One of the worst currys Ive ever had. The place looked old and dirty. Really embarrassed to have taken my friend there who travelled from South Wales to meet up. 4.4 stars my arse never trust reviews again.

Visited as a family of four. Had a great experience from the minute we walked in. We were greeted at the door by a friendly staff member. The food was very fresh and delicious indeed. We received some complimentary dishes too and even got treated to an ice-cream and a bowl of fruit. Absolutely amazing will definitely be back.

Thought a curry before a long awaited concert was in order so after reading some of the reviews on here we decided on your restaurant. At first sight it looked clean and welcoming. We were asked to leave our contact details in line with protocals which was a positive. Service was very polite if a little slow, it does clearly state outside on a board they do not serve alcohol but you can bring your own, they also do not serve soft drinks... none on menu or offered. Water delivered to the table was tepid at best. Once ordered we were expecting a little wait as it was early in the evening... much to our surprise within 10 mins our food was delivered to our table.. I ordered chicken tikka and hubby ordered a speciality chicken dish, mushroom rice and a sagaloo... let me start with the sagaloo because it looked like.... Runny green slop... both of our currys were overpowered with a coconut flavour and tasted exactly the same...the naan breads were dripping with oil. The only saving grace was we had a concert to look forward to... I would not recommend this place, the pub across the road had much nicer looking food...

Wow, I wasnt expecting that.Like most of us theses days Ive probably eaten thousands of Indian/Bangladeshi meals most of which Ive enjoyed; but the Nawaaz Restaurant delivers the experience in a completely different way which makes it a really lovely and authentic experience.The food is very very good, looks to be made on the premises. We had about 8 waiters serving us all at the same time, when the food is ready its served altogether, the table is empty one serving and full, over full the next. There were 4 of is eating, we ordered 5 starters the extra one as our neighbouring table ordered it and it both looked and smelt amazing so we had to order one. We then ordered for main meals. Well give arrived along with four complementary side dishes and a beautiful salad.We asked for wine 🍷 and were asked red or white, we went for white as us blokes were beer, bless them they went out and up the road to Sainsburys to buy a bottle of wine for us and only charged us what it cost.This is a fabulous business where the customer comes first. The service is authentically Indian, friendly, with a smile and by people who really really want you to have a great experience.The food is great, no, its better than great its real, its not all lardy de dar, its rustic and lovely.Buy your wine before you go, but go.

Had a fantastic experience from start to finish! The staff greet you at the door with friendly smiles and helpful suggestions. We had free flowing water at the table, free of charge, apart from some complimentary appetisers. The food was fantastic, delicious Indian food. After we were done, they brought us completely fruit and ice-cream! And the overall price was so cheap, we couldnt believe we were paying so little for so much food!

Absolutely gorgeous! The service here is impeccable and the food is delicious. The chicken tikka comes sizzling on a hot plate and the sag aloo was a great side dish. Nothing was too heavy and I feel fine the next day, if you know what I mean! They brought out complimentary dishes as well - I dont know if this happens every time or if it was because it was close to closing time. It is BYOB but they also serve alcohol. My only regret is that I didnt discover this place sooner!

Went here at around 10.30 on a Saturday night, quite busy given that they close at 12. We were given popadoms and a portion of onion bhajis on the house. The pakoras (onion bhajis) were very tasty, quite a large portion too.For mains we ordered bindi, chicken tikka bhuna masala, nan bread and one pilau and one mushroom rice. We were also given complimentary saag aloo, tadka daal and tandoori chicken. The food was fantastic, I actually ordered the wrong dish I wanted a creamy dish (tikka masala) but a bhuna is definately now an option I would also order.I liked all the dishes, in particular the chicken tikka bhuna masala it was full of flavour but it also had a bit of a spicy kick.To finish the meal we were served free fruit (melon and oranges) and then ice cream.There were lots of waiters in the restaurant and it actually meant the service was brilliant. It was great to the point that I felt like a regular loyal customer (even though it is the first time I have eaten here). The way the staff treat you makes you genuinely happy and positive that you are a customer here.

We had a take out delivered couple day ago and it was tasty but not the portion was very little. Half empty to be honest with you.

Visited as a family of 4 our son recommended and it did not disappoint. The whole experience was great. The food was excellent in both quantity and quality each dish tasted fabulous. They also serve you surprises which were lovely. The service was great also friendly staff always welcoming and smiling. The restaurant was very busy lots of happy customers. Would 100% recommend and when next in Leicester we will be booking again excellent value for money.

Sunday evening we had a dinner here. Tandoori Mix grill was tasty and spicy. Good quantity as well. For mains ordered fish bhuna and garlic chilli king prawns with rice and naan breads. All the items were very Nice. They have given some complements and they were nice too. At the end oranges sweet melon and finally vanilla ice cream.

Ive given 4 stars purely because of the service but if you want real indian food then I wouldnt recommend this place.We sat down and ordered papadoms but the gentleman taking the order said they will give the papadoms for free as a compliment so we are all really chuffed however when the papadoms arrived they tasted like they had been sitting in a pantry for decades! I didnt complain as they were complimentary anyway.Along with the papadoms they also gave us Dal Soup, Sagaloo and Rice as complimentary dishes.For some reason all the curries we ordered were overpowered with turmeric. Its a shame really because the service is really nice but the food is no where near up to the standard.If youre a curry muncher like myself and love your desi indian style curries then Im afraid you will not enjoy the food here.

Honestly this place deserves more 5 stars! The service was amazing. The staff was so humble and so welcoming. Before we even got our food, the starters just showed us that we’re up for something here. When I got my food, it was sooooo worth the money! It was the best curry I’ve ever had in my life and I regret having a bit of food before going to the restaurant because the taste took me by storm! Whilst digging into our food, we received two more plates of curry as compliment food from the restaurant. It’s not everyday you see restaurants offering compliment food. We thought it would stop there, but no, we received another tray of sizzling chicken tikka straight from the grill and the way it was sizzling and smoking it was like something you’d see in a movie. Another compliment food! 🤯 Honestly this place deserves more credits and more people need to visit. I knew I had a great experience when me and my friends were super exhausted from all the food we had. Guess what comes next. More compliment food! Don’t worry this time it was a light one 😂. We were offered ice cream before leaving. So to conclude, I’m definitely coming back and this time I’m bringing every single person I know. A piece of advice, make sure you go there on empty stomach. This is probably the best Indian restaurant I have ever been too . The stuff a very friendly and the food a so nice . Before you order you get portions of varieties of food . After the main course you get fruits and ice cream all complimentary of the house not including some random menu that they include just to make you feel at home . I would recommend this place to anyone who has a big appetite .

Nice indian restaurant with good selection of different styles of food.

We had a good mix of vegetarian dishes and meat dishes, they were all pretty good. The sizzling tandoori mixed grill was probably the best dish. Definitely left there full up.Staff were very nice and looked after us well. The decor was pleasant, fairly standard for an Indian restaurant. Toilets could do with a refurb.Price was very reasonable and we were happy we got plenty of good food for our money. Will definitely be returning in the future.

The food at Nawaaz is really good. They can accommodate gluten free dishes and have good knowledge about the allergens forgluten free meals. Additionally the food is lovely. We have only ever had a takeaway but, if the takeaway is good then I am looking forward to eating in house. Thank you for great gluten free curry.

Delicious curry and excellent selection, between the table we had good coverage across the menu and everyone really enjoyed what they had. All the staff were friendly and the price was reasonable. Its quite a big venue, we booked and were glad we did as it was busy, which is a good sign - we were happy and we got a good Indian dinner together with family.

Me and my partner decided to book a table here for valentines after carefully looking at the online reviews for Indian restaurants in Leicester and this looked one to be one of the best. Our experience did not reflect the overall positive reviews other people made at all. We booked a table and got there and had to wait quite a while for a table. When a table became free they seated us on it before it was even prepared. We ordered our food and all of the food tasted extremely bland, the Bombay potatoes looked like plain boiled potatoes covered in a strange tasting sauce, the garlic naan bread tasted as if it was brought from a supermarket. I didn’t even finish my plateful of food because I just simply didn’t want to eat it, the more I ate the worse it got. We tried to get the attention of members of staff as we weren’t satisfied by the food at all and wanted to say this but they did not even look over to us once despite me even waving my hand at one point, it was as if we were shoved to the side and completely forgotten about compared to other customers. We left so much food because no one came over to us to ask how it was. I complained to 3 different people who all seemed to not care at all and just said they’d go get someone else. I explained I wasn’t happy to the food or the service and how no one even looked at us once so we couldn’t even complain about the food. The only measurement they took was to offer us another curry, which obviously we didn’t want at that point. After finishing the small amount of food we ate, we were left waiting for someone to clear the table (after I asked them to get the bill finally) for 30 minutes. The staff weren’t sympathetic at all and didn’t offer any sort of refund, I had to physically say I’m not happy to pay the whole bill considering the food was bland and we ate barely any of it, and the service was so bad we couldn’t even complain about it at the time. Even then they didn’t want to give us any discount which is ridiculous - we left most of the food. We then had to wait a further 20 minutes after asking for the bill. Me and my partner sat there extremely shocked at how bad the whole experience was compared to the reviews, it’s safe to say we will not be returning.

The best place for a good Indian and amazing customer service! The staff here really know how to treat a party and make service effortless. They cater to vegan, allergies, vegetarians and the rest! The owner is a delight who has such a warm friendly nature youll want to go back just for him. They allow large bookings and handle with ease. Couldnt recommend this place more and suggest everybody should go for a true taste of Leicester. Many complimentary dishes and even then the price was astonishingly good. The perfect place for students. 5 stars!

If you want a traditional English curry house, this is the place for you! The menu features all the dishes youd expect, and service was faultless. I went as part of a large group, with plenty of other tables occupied, and food arrived promptly and was all very good. Ive only taken a star off as there were fewer vegetarian dishes than Im used to, but for many of you that will be irrelevant.

My family recently booked for a 20ppl party, after reading reviews and seeing the pictures of the food we decided to go here. I rang and confirmed if it was part of the Eat out to Help out scheme. They confirmed it was!! When we got there the table was not big enough!! 6 ppl were cramped onto a small coffee table. It was overcrowded. The service was rubbish! The waiters were writing the order on napkins!! The food was not of good taste or standard!! The portion sizes were ridiculous for the price. It was not good value for money!! They also overcharged us...we did not get 50% off our bill and only realised when we had left. They do not give you a receipt!! Never again Nawaaz what a disappointment!!

Delicious food, friendly and efficient staff, and to call the prices reasonable would be an understatement. There are many complimentary dishes, starters, sides and desert - it is easy to order more than one can eat. Bring your own alcohol is great, although some alcoholic beverages are also served.It is inconceivable how some people manage to see so much at fault in this place as to give it the worst possible rating.

Absolute disaster, staff at the start started giving us so much complimentary foods without even asking anyone and then at the end when getting the bill, they had no sense of manners or professionalism, made all the workouts of the bill by hand and tried to charge us four times the original cost we should be paying . Dont be fooled by the website. This place is a run down dive. You would think youre in Dhaka once inside !!!.If youre looking for a quiet place then this isnt for you as it is full of rowdy students.The food was also awful and not authentic at all. When they say bring your own drinks I didnt realise it extended to soft drinks. They charge £2 each for a standard 330ml can of coke !!!.The complimentary poppadums were like cardboard !!!.Would I recommend this place ?. Definitely not. I think its just popular with local uni students.Update : Based on the owners response, that is discrimination against people who are tee total. Also to charge £2 for a can of pop when the can has 65p written on it, Is extortionate. How you can justify charging more than 3 times the face value ?. There is also no drinks menu so basically they can charge you what you like !!!. Very devious.

Nice little place with over friendly owner. It is one of the few places where people can get their own Alcohol and drink. It is crowded most of the time. The owner keeps offering many complimentary stuff and says few of them will not be there in the bill...it is unique business model for more food sale..the food is not exceptional but good

Excellent service during these tasty Corona times. Was craving a curry and the menu + prices looked very good so I ordered a Tikka Masala set meal for £12. It arrived in 20 minutes, VERY fast. The meal was delicious and HUGE!! I was even given what I believe to be an additional free dish, some sort of vegetable curry. This was hugely appreciated... i ate the Masala with some of the rice + naan, and half the pickle tray. The next day I finished off the naan and pickle tray with the vegetable curry...delicious!Overall 10/10 for speed, taste, price and portion size. very good highly recommend

One of the best kept secrets in Leicester, this Indian restaurant is reasonably priced with excellent food. Servers are friendly and often offer various complementaries. You can bring your own bottle of alcohol, so happy days. Highly recommended.

Ordered the grill and a couple of curries. The grill was tasty and the curries were alright, nothing special. They gave plenty of complimentary dishes hence the four stars. Other than that, the atmosphere around the restaurant was a little weird and the staff dont look comfortable at all talking with the customers.
