Kunzes and Jigmet and great and run a wonderful hostel. The prices are very reasonable and fair, the atmosphere is great, and Ledeg - the organization that owns the hostel - is fantastic. They have done great work in preserving Ladakhi culture and the environment. Its pretty warm inside the rooms, even in winter. I have stayed here for many years and give them my highest recommendation.

If you are in search of budget accommodation then this place is perfect. Very near to Santi stupa. It has a good view as well. I stayed there for INR. 300 when other hotels were charging INR. 1200. You will also get free wifi.

The Ecology hostel is Purpose build property. Travellers looking for cozy roorms and Room services should not even think of it.The Backpackers this is your place for sure. In less than 48 hrs I interacted more than 20 people those checked in here. The Best thing here is Common Dining hall where everyone hangs around and lot of interactions takes place. The property is built for local peoples development, So have basic amenities. The room costs you only INR 300/- (Food charges seperate) These are the places I always look for.
