We are from Repentigny. I really felt like having lunch at Vieux Duluth but the one in Repentigny is not opened at lunch so we went to the one in Laval. I want to thank all the staff that work in the kitchen. We had the Scampi as our main course. Escargot and tzatziki as entrée. Everything was to perfection. Did not have to send anything back to the kitchen like we do in Repentigny on occasion. Now for our waiter Dimitri..Service was absolutely perfect. He is a real professional in his trade. Thank you Dimitri. We will definitely be back..

We placed a reservation online earlier today for 6:30pm. When I arrived at the restaurant there were a lot of clients waiting. I did wait around 45 minutes (This is in response to the client who recently wrote that she waited 2 hours... which is a lie). The food was excellent and the staff did the best that they could under the circumstances. I would like to thank the gentleman in the front with the black suit and black mask for his service. I know working in this industry can be hard at times. Future reference to all the customers who were waiting and screaming at the waiter... please learn to have some patience and be respectful to others. Screaming will not help the situation nor will it make your food come faster. My family and I are regulars there (before and during covid) and we never had a problem at this restaurant. Excellent food and courteous staff which if why I am giving 5 stars. Keep it up!

My kid loves his nugget and the icecream, salad and potato that comes with the main dishes are really good, butterfly shrimp was perfect, only one small comment about the small portion of the fillet minions comparing with the other dishes... and yes BYOB 👍

I placed my order on their website, the order was ready at the time promised. The quality of the food was amazing and delicious! Generous portions! And bonus, my take-out order was put in a reusable bag! What a wonderful service altogether! 👏👏👏

Only God knows how this place remains open. My parents insist on going here every so often. Every time it takes the waiter 15 minutes to bring menus. 15 more minutes to come take the order. 100% of the time one of the orders is wrong. And to add insult to injury the food tastes like it was steam cooked regardless of what you order...which leads me to believe the microwave is doing most of the cooking. Wouldnt be surprised if everything is precooked and frozen.

The service is 5 stars but the food was salty.

Ordered through skip the dishes for pickup tonight. Arrived at the restaurant 5 mins before the order was scheduled to be ready and was greeted warmly by a very friendly gentleman. He told me the order wasn’t ready yet but I could wait in my car and he’d bring the food out to me. Sure enough, about 10 mins later he brought the order to me in a blue, reusable Au Vieux Duluth bag. Arrived at home and wow, we were very happily surprised. First off the packaging is great! recyclable, sturdy containers which open and close easily, salad separate from the hot food. If you can’t finish your meal and want to keep leftovers for the next day, no problem, the containers allows you to do this easily.Quality and portions of food was outstanding, gravy that should be bottled if not done so already and 2 bread buns each. Everything was extremely tasty and as close an experience as you can get outside of actually dining at the restaurant. I have tried other restaurants that I normally dine in but, unfortunately, their takeout experience falls short but not AVD. They are doing a fantastic job in these trying times and everyone should definitely check them out. If you love au vieux Duluth, I truly recommend their takeout! Im only giving 3 stars because normally pre covid i could not complain, excellent service and i was a frequent customer. Howerver they should really look into skip the dishes. I ordered a nice meal today for my 5 year anniversary and due to covid we can not go to the restaurant so we ordered from skip the dishes. We kept getting text that our order was on the way and it was already an hour late. Only to find out that apparently there was a comunication error from the restaurant and they never got our order. Now i have to eat fast food. Sadly this means they are loosing customers due to this app, for i wont be ordering from here anymore.

Absolutely horrible!! Service wasn’t so bad, but the dishes are overpriced and not fresh. I ordered a Caesar Salad with chicken and was lucky enough to get one crouton and 3 strips of chicken for the extraordinary price of $17.95. I understand that they are out to make money but why do they have to slap their clients in the face...with a smile? There are so many other deserving restaurants in Laval so do yourself a favor and take the time to properly search for a great place. It is not about eating. It’s about dining.

I ordered a custom breakfast. The total would be 21.29. a line item was left off and the line item values were 17.29 yet the total forced on the bill was the correct 21.29. When I asked my waiter about the discrepancy he feigned ignorance of why the line item was missing but the $4. was charged.He was pocketing the difference instead of allowing the restaurant to collect their fair amount justifying it as his tip.I am a small business owner. If my employee did this to me he would be immediately terminated.The fault in this case was the employees. But the responsibility was the restaurants.

Ordinary food at an average price. All main dishes are served with the same salad/potato/rice combo. Good portions. The plus side is that you can bring your own wine. For a full meal plus tips, look at about 75/80$ for two people.

Server was trying to discredit people; saying some of the group members did not pay. The case is; there should be a better system for the receipts. For big groups, it should be table by table. That way; there is no confusion about who paid and who didnt. Poor service/ people skills. Waiters were rude. Not sure ill be back here. Well not this one anyway.

I will always love this restaurant since its a family must. I come here every now and again to enjoy dinner with my family and always have a great time and if ever we have an issue with our food, things are handled quickly and the staff is very nice about it. Great prices and the butterfly shrimp is a must!

Nice place for a low priced meal. Usually full after 5pm. The original restaurant is the one on Duluth in Montreal but this one in Laval is quite convenient in distance and also in free parking.

Easy to find. Service slightly slow but polite waitstaff. Salad had too much dressing but the rest was good. Slightly expensive for chicken and salad plate $22,95. I ordered Poulet au grilloir with garden salad and Greek potatoes. No wait for a Wednesday night and were not rushed out at the end of our meal. Left at 9:30 p.m., restaurant closed at 10:00 p.m.

Same boring menu year after year. Poor ventilation in kitchen causes restaurant to be very hazy and smokey. Your clothes will smell of fried and grilled food. Get ready to do more laundry when you get home. Inflated prices due to bring your own wine option. Small meat, fish, and seafood portions filled with salad, rice, and potatoes. Id say Casa Grecque, far from perfect, is a better option for value.

Worst experience in a lifetime in a restaurant.-Soulvaki sticks were surely expired (they were very sour)-Filet mignon was very hard-On top of that they charged 1$ per person on the table for cutting a cake (we were celebrating a birthday)-First and LAST time I go there.

Hello, and good evening. I was at Vieux Duluth Restaurant today with some friends. We were served from a woman waitress, as well as a young man. The bread was cold, there was no water on the table. The plates from my friends were taken away suddenly while they were still eating with food still on their plate.When the time came to pay, I volanteered to pay the bill. I first attempted with my card but I had forgotten the pin, so I told the waiter I was going to pay cash. The bill was $73.35, I gave him $80, he took the $80 and disappeared. I was calling on other waiters for my change. After 10 minutes of waiting for my change, he suddenly appears, so I ask him for my change.With an uncalled for attitude, he gives me my change and shouts out at me that he will remain unpaid. He said that he served us for nothing and that he was going to pay from his pocket. I asked him for some water, at that point, and he YELLED out, NO I WILL NOT GIVE YOU ANY WATER‼‼ in front of other clients sitting at their tables, looking at him, and looking at us with surprise.The tips for the waiters in restaurants in Quebec are incorporated in the bill. He gave me back my change in the most disgusting, rude, and humiliating manner that one can imagine.My friends and I were not happy with the service, and we did not want to give him any more than he is legally entitled to get.That will certainly be our last visit there, that is for sure. I am so sad to see a restaurant of this calibre have employees that should not be there, or come in contact with the public in general. He was rude, humiliating, and with a temperment, that is not permitted under no circumstance in public places.

Havent been here since the 90ies but decided to eat lunch here at a whim. My lasting impression was that they served average food that doesnt deserve to be priced so high. My souvlaki plate consisted of 2 pork sticks, a tiny tzatziki, 3 potatoes quarters, a cup of rice and over half a plate of iceberg lettuce. This set me back $20 with no drinks, appetizer, coffee or dessert included.This is is a hard sell for me and felt the meal had low value for the price being charged.Sure... coffee and dessert was available for $1 more buy seriously how is this priced at $20 and not have this included?The souvlaki pork was good but not enough tzatziki to enjoy even with 2 sticks. The chicken filet my coworker had was excellent. The 3 potatoes quarters were well baked but had no flavor nor salt. Old people food. Our best option was to salt them but even then...they were quite boring. The rice was nothing to write home about and I left most of it in the plate.The iceberg salad was..... well what you expect with iceberg salad? With over half my plate filled with this salad it certainly looked like filler. Why not romaine or caesar? Perhaps be a little crazy and serve shredded cabbage or kale?Perhaps these were options but I certainly wasnt given them. The waitress looked very busy and could afford the time cycles to provide me with the slide options they serve. The service was timely but very rushed.This place also looks like a car dealership outside from the outside but inside it is a ridiculously beautiful resto. If you value aesthetics over quality of food or value this is the place to go.As for me, I value quality of food so I dont expect to be back.

Il y a plus de 3 ans, jai mangé à ce restaurant avec mon amie et sa famille. Cependant, lexpérience a été mauvaise: les repas étaient trop gros et le personnel semblait désagréable. Jai eu un vilain mal de ventre et en arrivant chez moi, jai tout simplement dégueulé aux toilettes.Je me suis juré de ne plus jamais manger dans ce genre de restaurant...
