An invaluable place for everything from hardware to bathrooms. Everything a home owner is likely to need to repair, fix or replace things around the home and with knowledgeable staff on hand to help I wonder if I’ll ever darken the doors of a big DIY store again! Highly recommend

Got everything and staff no there stuff

Never again !I took a pathway slab in for them to match, twice they sent a different colour slab.Its was not like they had to guess as I left a slab with them the 2nd time so it would be correct.I also made sure a ordered plenty of materials so the pickup of there wrong slabs did not incur them a delivery charge.I was then told I had to pay a restock charge! 8 weeks later and still waiting for my money back, never again!

Staff are not only unhelpful but downright rude,a one time go to store, now a store to be avoided, staff have no idea about what they are selling, a great shame,as I have used this store for years, but not anymore,the paint and electrical and timber stores are still however top class and a definite go to

Id be interested to know what on earth they dont have.Proper old school iron mongers.Has the lot.Never failed to provide whats required from gate hangers to silver finished hinges to fork handlesDownside is parking can be tricky.

Used to be helpful went there to find bathroom mirror directed upstairs no help person looked at us did not ask if he could help walked away and never came back we went back downstairs nobody did you find what you wont we left used to friendly helpful place but not now disappointed

Went in today as had dropped my keys down a a drain in the early hours of the morning. The lady in the store was so helpful, was able to sell me a tool designed specifically for getting keys out of drains for only £3.15 and it worked instantly!!! So pleased!!!

I remembee goung to a hardware store with my Dad back in the late 50s - early 60s & he bought som nails or screws and they stuck em in a brown paper bag. Imagine my delight when my purchase of 4 M10 coach screws & penny washers were presented to me in a brown paper bag!This is really one of the few general hardware stores still in existence where everything is not pre-packaged in cellophane bags.. well done G&S!
