Good place to have tiffen items. Try anything but parota... They dont make good parota or kurma. I missed their Kadapa and Gosthu due to my travel schedule... They serve Kadapa on Thursday and Gosthu on sunday...

A fulfilling traditional vegetarian meal! (Can only review their lunch) Each dish was delightful. I wish I could have stayed for a few days and tasted every vegetable they would cook. Service keeps you entertained. Can have as much rice as you can. Curd at extra. No ghee though, 😛. Limited seating may mean a wait on certain days. Their pickles are great too. Reasonable parking available across the road.

Decent food served on a plantain leaf. You can start with sambar and have rasam and some puli kozhambu before reaching buttermilk along with vegetables and kootu. Pickles and Buttermilk Chilli are extras.Bam! You dont get ghee here.The staff are friendly and attentive.Looking for a very normal lumch at around 70 rupees, the this is the place.

Must try Items are Rice Upma, Idly, Onion Adai, Pennai Dosa, and dont miss to have coffee here. Kumbakonam Degree Coffee KDC started from here only. Staff is curteous and they serve very fast, always crowded

Must visit once, for lunch & dinner, if you are a iyer style food lover. Classic style, small hotel (not mess like ambience anymore, since they moved out of temple premises). Food quality and taste is good as usual. My go-to place for food, whenever I visit Kumbakonam.One suggestion, needs regular deep cleaning of dining and wash area as it is a small place and all sides (like chutneys, and sambar) are placed nearby dining.

I am not here to comment about that .My review is for travellers who wants to reach this place by car.If you are going by car, you can park near the west police station and walk .If you follow Google map , chances are that you will be stuck in the middle of a vegetable market.So do yourself a favour . You can avail very good authentic vegetarian food. I visited this place during lunch time. You should get bill for your food(meal coupon) and then only food will be served. It was very crowded, no place to visit and take lunch. There wouldnt be any assistance for you to choose your table. You must stand behind somebodys table, wait for them to complete their food. Get that immediately before somebody get them. Getting the table is the concern but but food was very fantastic though service were poor. You must wait and call out for your food like need rasam, sambar, subji,... Overall good experience and very famous restaurant at kumbakonam. Must visit, near kumbeshwaran kovil North street.

This place offers authentic south indian meals and tiffen. By far the best meals and tiffen I had so far at any hotel. The coffee tastes top notch. I highly recommend this eatery to anyone who visits kumbakonam.

What can I say about this cafe? Everything was really gud. Had tiffin, lunch and also dinner. Everything was as perfect as it can be. Meals just cost 75rs. We tasted adai, ravadosa, idli, poori and tomato uthappam everything tasted very well. They really serve food with love. Dont forget to ask magalai pudi for idly or dosas.

Great food experience. Tomato dosai is the better than ones I have had ever anywhere. With generous pepper thrown over a bright red dosa, try downing it with a fresh filter coffee, its an experience of a lifetime. Used to be inside the temple as a small shanty but now has grown to be a separate hotel left of the main entrance next to pookadai. Dont miss this vegetarian hotel if you are visiting Kumbakonam.

Lovely tiffin centre located within the Kumbeswarar temple in the heart of Kumbakonam. The filter coffee was perfect, just the right mix of milk, decoction and sugar. Among the tiffin options, I chose ghee dosa and my mother got the Fenugreek (vendhayam) dosa, both of which were very good. Id definitely recommend Mangalambiga to anybody who is in Kumbakonam and is looking for authentic filter coffee.
