Visited recently. Very warm and helpful staff, always service with a smile. Rooms are good some rooms bigger than the others. Cottage stay is preferred than the office building however if higher floor is required it is the only choice. Good open air restaurant. Chicken items very more tasty than the fish items. At night the place has a very nice look. Still some rooms are under construction. Overall very good experience.

The owner have no controls over his staffs behavior, full of arrogance and money sucking staffs.5 of us have went there,service was pathetic and horrible, one of my friend has an injury and health issues,at the time of checkout they have started games by saying that one tiny blood spot is there in the bedsheet and for that we have to pay.the blood stain could easily be removed by a good wash and it was not intentional its just bcse of that injury that blood soaks in the bedsheet at night while sleeping.Will never recommend anyone to go there.# STOP VISITING SUNDARGRAM#BOYCOT THEM COMPLETELY.

A beautiful property to visit. Day outings can easily be availed by people like me who are in the lookout for a peaceful, tranquil place in the lap of nature.As for the resort,well maintained,very pleasant staff as well as owner. The surprise draw is the unexpected quality and taste of pure Bengali cuisine giving you the feel of gram bangla. The landscape is one of utter joy. Surrounded by acres of green fields,water bodies..the place is best to visit during Winter ,though we had visited it in the month of August. Going in groups is recommended as nuclear families would get bored in a few hours. The fall of evening followed by night was amazing to witness .A must place to visit from Kolkata,takes hardly an hour and half.

Now coming to the hotel facilities, it is mostly made up with wood and well furnished. You can avail Air Conditioner facility here . The confirmed services are not on time.. Food was average..but Mutton was brilliant..service is poor; no staff bothers about visitors time... The bathroom stinks..no soap and toiletries..and spider net in every room..no mineral water...at night sometimes power tripped ..We went for a day visit but got disappointed.. Not so happy..The only positive is the property is maintained nicely. This can give a nice experience to visitors if only the management cares to improve...last but not the least.. We got full moon night view with boul song...

The place is beautiful although very small. But the road to reach there is horrible. Last 3kms, there was no road only only bricks. It felt like we wear driving in Ladakh.

Sundargram, a small resort nearby busy Kolkata, may be a dayout destination for tourists loving to experience village surroundings. The resort area is small and there is no arrangement for any indoor or outdoor activities. The kitchen serves food at reasonable price.

Good place for day outing one can relax, however food not that great, its an average category food, staff service is good though, rooms are good with AC installed if required. No sports activities provided by them, if anyone wants to carry their own and enjoy its allowed even for fishing. Pictures attached for idea. Parking available inside for cars & outside for heavy vehicles.

We have recently visited this place and have a mixed feeling. The overall set up of the place looks very impressive but it suffers from some basic issues. They charged us in the order of 575 for a meal with mutton but the quality is just just average. Tea was served in very small paper cups. Maintenance is overall poor. CHARGES ARE VERY HIGH but HOSPITALITY is very low. So think twice before you decide to go.

Location, staff behavior, food absolutely ok, no issues. House keeping is very poor, mosquito is problem due to surrounding agricultural area, no arrangements for mosquito net. There are plenty of flowering plants, but has no gardener. Everything looks unattended for longtime. Attendant for visitors is very less, management should take adequate measure for these important findings.

The location is pretty inside in between the paddy fields. We had to open the main gate since there is no security at the gate. Its more of self service at the first impression. The view is nice but the rooms are really small and the washroom is extremely tiny that there is no space to wash hands or face since its a tiny wash basin. The cleanliness is really below standard. We went to have a refreshing 1 day trip but felt really uncomfortable using the washroom due to the hygiene issues . The price we paid for this location and stay is really not as per the expected quality room and service we received. The food was very basic and the service provided was very slow. Overall a very unhappy customer

We spent a day there, reaching late morning and returning early evening. it is a small place - narrow and long, with huts along the road. theres nothing much to do, nor space for it. if you are planning to keep to your hut and relax, it is great.the lunch was sumptuous. the fish, the mutton, and all other accompaniments were great - very well cooked and good quantity. the staff were courteous and friendly. not baf for a day out, unless one is looking for activity

We went for a day tour. Ambience is great but room maintenance , serving, and food was not good according to the price. We found spider’s net many places in our room. Toilet was stinky. There was no mirror in the room . But they charge quite high for few hours.

The lush green rustic beauty,the paddy field ,pond ,village atmosphere everything make this place beautiful.Our room বৌঠান is spacious and with all modern amenities attached bathroom is dry and clean.Food was tasty and homely.But mutton and chicken pieces were totally useless,only bones and lever,may be it was in our case.This is the excellent for day outing and staying.You can take only lunch except package ,you may choose menu from the menu card but order must be given one day prior of journey.Most important point order must be given via whats app and make it clearly otherwise misunderstanding can take place.

Its a beautiful hamlet located just 1.5 hrs away from Kolkata .The accommodation is beautiful and the food was tasty and not overpriced . The toilets are well maintained and the Heaters are functional ! Only point to improve is perhaps the room service can be a bit more tidy and timely .Else no complaints.

Pathetic hospitality.. we arrived around 1:00 pm and the guy at the “reception/lobby” literally misbehaved with us. Seemed like some local goon who was asked to take up the responsibility. Did not seem safe at all.Request everyone not to visit this sub-standard place with no etiquette whatsoever. Visit some better alternatives such as Bawali Rajbari or some other similar place, if you’re in the mood for some rustic experiences outside the hustle and bustle of city life.

I went with my family recently for a weekend stay. The service was very poor, the rooms were sanitised but not tidy. The AC was not working in one of the rooms. They should maintain better hygienes at the place. The surrounding is scenic, calm and fresh with a village few, a small pond and setting of the mud-houses is also appealing. But the food service was too late and we had to wait for 30-40mins before each meal. Also, the food was not upto the mark in terms of quantity and taste.If I am going there for a weekend to relax, there should be basic amenities and facilities provided to make my stay worthwhile. But it was unfortunately just the opposite. One advice to the management, please take care of your guests and dont take them granted.

The Owner of the Property (both Mr & Mrs Pal) are having very bad & has done low mentality behaviour with the Tourist.They did able to give Lunch after several request & even asked for spot fee of Rs 200/- each per visitor to enter the Premises. This entry fee has not been mentioned anyway in their site,They are doing cheating with the visitors.We are suggesting not to visit this place due to very poor mentality of this Unfortunate Pal couple(owner).

Loved the concept and the facilities along with the optional arrangements. Service was good along with staff behaviour. Room cleanliness and room accessories can improve more.

Ambience is nice. Food is average. We booked a room called MADOL but they gave us a diffrent room saying that ac is not working in our booked room whereas we have seen a couple stays in that room only. So communication between the staff and managemsnt is bit confusing. Finally we stay in a room called BOWTHAN. It just beside the main gate and whole night we couldnt sleep properly due to the sound of the generator. They will provide you car survice also if you dont have any personal one. In total its was a mix experience where I am not dis-satisfied but I am also not highly recommend people for going there.

Resort is really well maintained but there lacks activities. Not many places to visit too nearby.Good for just chillaxing and engaging in adda.Mutton meal is much recommended, it was damn delicious with all the pieces that were served were of well proportionate size.

You have not allowed the one day tour inside the sundargram. Because there was no any particular restaurant for having food for one day visit. Yes all facilities are available while you can book the cottage.

I went with my friends and really loved the place all together we had lot of fun and masti .. The place us beautiful and lunch we had was good ..

We were at Bodhi, a 5 beded room costs 5000 including GST.Staffs behaviour was not bad but cold. We had to take our own luggage to our rooms, off course we did not ask for any help when found no one came forward for that.Reception was almost always an empty place.No intercom system within the premises. We had to use our personal cell phone to call for any help.No quality control. We had to change our room AC remote controller cells after a long search for a person to do that since reception was empty.Rooms bathroom is a 4 ft by 6 ft (approx) place with a wash basin of 10 inch by 8 inch (approx). Water pressure was extremely low that you cannot use commode shower although it was there. Bathroom was dirty. One of the picture here was showing a beautiful toilet which I could not find here.Although lunch timing is up to 15:30 hrs but when we arrived at that time, was been served with cold food which we made hot after a small struggle. Nothing to say about food test since it was nither good nor bad. Complementary breakfast was slightly better, served luchi, torkari and boiled egg. Please do not ask tea at the restaurant. I can bate that you wont be able to consume it fully.The in-room tea facility was such that I could not even dare to touch that.Most importantly, this place officially has got no room service facility (except for child and old people).Did not see a single drop usage of sanitisation anywhere although found many SAFETY FIRST placards.In my experience, visiting there was a waste of money and time for me.

The overall experience was extremely poor. Probably the worst resort I have stayed in.Security (0/5) - None. There is no security in the property. We had to get down from our car and open the gate of the resort. This highlights anyone and everyone can just enter the premise. Further the people working in the resort have a habit of keeping the gate open as if to invite random truck drivers, strays etc.Rooms (1/5) - Extremely poorly done. The room resembled a under construction site with no comforts. The bathroom was extremely dirty and the flush was not working for our room (Madol). There is also a huge power crisis and we had no power in our rooms entire nightService (-1/5) - This probably is the worst amongst all the other points. The people working seemed to be doing us a favor even by talking to us. They are either extremely underpaid or unhappy bcz of reasons unknown. Service is a pain, extremely slow, rude, unwilling and having no ownership. A special mention here for Raju the check in counter fill in person who when asked to close the main gate said - Gate khola thakle aapnar toh kono oshubida hoche naFood (3/5) - Food was ok. Though slow service resulted in the rice getting cold by the time daal arrivedCOVID Compliance (0/5) - None of the staff had masks. There were no sanitization measuresThe cherry on the cake was the owner of the property who most probably resides some place else revealing her profession (advocate) on being told we plan to share feedback on multiple forums. The climax of the conversation was however the owner saying Shokal bela jalaben na tohFor people who plan to visit in future please save yourself the trouble, money and harassment and rather go some place else or sit at home.

Serene and peaceful environment is what we city dwellers crave, isnt it? Thankfully Sundargram has become the perfect escapade for us when we want to go on a day trip or weekend trip nearby Kolkata. Not only the staff is extremely friendly and helpful but also the owners are very cordial and welcomes you wholeheartedly. Our trip to Sundargram started with the scenic beauty of green paddy fields on both sides, the roads were clean with much less traffic ( thankgod). There is a beautiful temple of Sherawaali Maa quite near to Sundargram Eco-resort which is breathtaking. We were approximately 16 people. They had ample parking space which was a boon as we had 3 cars. On reaching we were given a beautiful big room on the 1st floor, nicely decorated ( perfect mix of modernity meeting tradition of Gram Bangla) with one attached washroom and balcony. We found all modern amenities amidst nature. We had vegetable and chicken pakodas along with pipping hot tea and chilled cold drinks ( according to our preference ). Later on we had masala fried pomphret along with rice, lal saak, vegetable dal, sabzi ( potol sarse), lomba Begum bhaja, katla kalia, chicken Kassa, mutton masala, along with chutney and papad and fresh rasogolla. The foods quality, presentation and quantity was very impressive. We had a great time in Sundargram and looking forward to visiting again soon.

Nice and cosy place for a weekend getaway though not much to explore nearby!cottages are nice but cleanliness should be improved a bit.Food is great and the behaviour of staffs is also courteous.While visiting this place,please take your own car or rent one as this place is in outskirts of kolkata and other mode of transportation aint that much reliable! Plus,in case of emergency,you wont get any!Apart from this,everything is fine.you can purchase local pottery items also at an affordable price.

A nice place. It is situated amidst nature and has a rural touch. The place is not vast rather narrow but it would fill the heart with peace and pleasure. Since there is not much space its better to try this place out in weekdays when there is not much rush or it will feel congested.The room we got, Dotara is spacious, but thereare cobwebs. Needs proper cleaning. The wash room is okay.The food is good. But the staff was not wearing any masks or gloves.The barbeque was awesome. For the first time we experienced this thing and we are more than happy.However the reason I gave 2 stars less is the mosquitos. They are in crores there. Please take along with you whatever mosquito repellant you can think of or they will carry you off.... . Mosquito nets are provided but there are no proper pegs. So please ask the room service perso n to make the bed with the net or the night will be horrible..Except the mosquito part the place is a nice one. Good to spend a day or two in the lap of nature...

Excellent place to visit for for day tour and a night stay as well with family or friends. They have uniquely names the cottages being Akash, Batash, Dhamsa, Madol, Aktara, Dotara, Bouthan, Andarmahal etc. There are a total of 8 rooms with each room having different cost prices per Night. We did a last hour booking hence found Akash and Batash available on a weekday. Weekends are tough to get an available cottage. Hence bookings are mandatory. Food quality, ambience, neighborhood village is excellent and an offbeat destination for any tourists wanting to spend a day out of the city hustles. A must visit for anyone having a day or two holiday. 37kms from my home and could be reachable easily within 1hr 20mins by own vehicle.

It has a rustic charm but its very small and if there are more than four families at a time, there is not much privacy. The art and craft used is very ethnic. Food is very sub standard and not worth trying at all.

You can visit malancha bridge over vidyadhari river which is 18km away from here.Service not good at all in this homestay. You need to wait long for every thing. Even towels soap are also not there. The place is peaceful, full of green evey thing is very much neat and tidy. I stayed for 2days with my wife along with 2 pets. There should be TV in the rooms, also Wi-Fi was need!! Rooms are very much spacious, options should be there to add more beds for more occupancy. My personal recommendation is to stay there for a day atleast. They have different types of rooms max 6 persons can be accommodated.Service was ok, the staffs are very good, well behaved. Food is also up to mark.One suggestion:There is some lack of management which need to be worked. In this pandemic situation, there is very much crowd in day time, who are coming for day visit (picnic) most of them are not maintaining proper precautions. The stuffs should be more focused on the people who are staying overnight, there should be more easy way of communication with the guests and stuffs. There was some chaos with parked car too, people cannot move off their vehicles!!Overall 4🌟 form my end.

Sundargram is a pleasant place to spend a day or two with your family.We spent a night in an upstairs 4 beded room. Ethnic ambience had a calming effect. The room has a spacious balcony, overlooking a sprwaling agricultural field. Sundargram will do better with some outdoor maintenance. The stairs to the first floor room need urgent repair to avoid any accident. The food is awesome, lip smacking. The quantity is more than adequate. Must try mutton kasha. Dont miss early morning roam around the adjacent village.

Good place. Far from the maddening crowd. Awesome food. But room services are pathetic. We ordered 2 bottles of water during check in and after repeated call finally got it at 5 in the evening.

Visited in August 2020 after the lockdown was eased and was glad to see they maintained all sanitisation procedures. Had a pleasant experience there despite the weather playing spoilsport with heavy rains every now and then. Loved the rustic charm of the cottages. I personally enjoyed the typical Bangali vilage style food, although I feel the breakfast options can be improved by introducing a few more items on the menu. My pet dogs had a great time here as it is a pet-friendly resort with welcoming staff. Would love to visit again some time.

We had planned to visit the resort today and had planned to have lunch in the lap of nature. The phone number mentioned in website is switched off throughout the day. We thought to come and have lunch. The person who was outside of the resort didnt allow us to enter. We requested to allow restaurant, that denied and said from online booking only is acceptable. So we had asked the mobile unavailability, he confirmed that might have some problem, thats why switched off. We had to come back without even taking a glass of water. Being this type of Resort you people should have this much option for walkins...
