We went to have my daughters eye checked up by Dr. Monideepa Banerjee. On asking about the reason on why my daughter has got power at such an early age, she started saying about online class, digital channels etc. On asking for evidences or research papers which proves that digital channels can be a cause she drew a blank. Then she threw me and my family out of her room and didnt answer to our questions. I want to say that a doctor should throw her ego out when they come to workplace. Remember you are not the only one in the industry. Very rude and unprofessional behaviour. Never visit Dr. Monideepa Banerjee. She can only prescribe power for your eyes and talk like GOD. Not to mention the hospital charged Rs. 850 for a petty eye doctor.

Today on 19-03-2021, I had an appointment at 12:00 p.m. with Dr. Wadke Vidya Arunkumar for my father. The doctor, as well as all the staff, present there were very rude in behavior and they made us sit for 3 hours but the doctor was not willing to listen to us and she took only 1 minute to check my father. Kolkata New Town branch is worst ever seen for their rude and ill-mannered behavior. They were seemed to only promote their test facility but they should improve in taking care of the patients. I had to spend 850 rs to experience this bad behavior. I would never suggest your hospital to anyone. I would have given a 0 star if possible.

Undoubtedly this is the best eye hospital in Kolkata. They provide a lot of services like comprehensive eye examination, cataract and IOL implantation, cornea clinic, lasic clinic, glaucoma clinic, neuro-opthalmology, vitreo-retinal services, ocular oncology, optical services, contact lens clinic, low vision clinic, orthoptics clinic amblyopia clinic and so on. Some clinical laboratory services are also available here. Everything is neat and clean. They have some good quality doctors (but not all...). But the main problem is, it is becoming very expensive for poor people. The Consultancy charge is Rs. 600.

I was never a Kolkatan (dweller of Kolkata). The major part of my life has been spent in Rourkela, Odisha.Last one and a half years I have been residing in Kolkata and almost for the similar period I have been visiting Sankara Netralaya, Newtown.First time I visited there it was 1.4.2019. I was clearly told at reception that I would have to have four to five hours time in hand and every procedure got over within the stipulated period.During the first visit although I felt total waiting time was a bit long, over the period of more than a year I have always felt there has been considerable improvement in the waiting period, in favour of the patient.I strongly feel a comprehensive package of Rs 700.00 is very reasonable because that includes tests done by optometrists (power test, eye dryness measurement, measurement of intraocular pressure etc.) and doctors consultation fees.Behaviour of the reception personnel, securities, lift men, other supporting staff and optometrists is excellent and all of them are very systematic. My prime doctor throughout this period has been Dr. Mihir A Lagvankar, who I consider to be a superb doctor. I have encountered lot of improvements in my problems related to Myopia and eye dryness under his treatment. He explains everything pertaining to the treatment and I despite being an anxious person by nature derive lot of confidence through his dealings. In case I encounter any problems he nicely responds through mails.I have also been to Dr Suchetana Mukherjee and Dr Anik Das who too have exhibited very good medical treatments and behaviour towards the patient. The Infrastructure, Ambience, Canteen food, Snack counters and overall cleanliness of the hospital are very satisfactory.Earlier I visited Sankara Netralaya, Chennai and L V Prasad, Bhubaneswar, but I didnt find any remarkable difference of this hospital with respect to the two hospitals mentioned by me.I wish all the best to the entire fraternity of Sankara Netralaya, Newtown.

Myself being a consultant gynaecologist went to show my daughter there to Dr. Biswas for the first time. The experience was horrifying , starting from the reception ground floor. Inspite of asking for the correction of her name they did not bother to do it. Coming to the Opd floor, the receptionist asked me ( patient party) to give eye drop to my child ( without knowing my profession). This is very miserable. Next the dr did not even mind to tell me the present status of her illness ( what we call as explaining to the party). I could not imagine how the standard of this hospital has fallen down ( compared to Chennai,(SN) where I regularly go). This needs immediate attention to keep your fame undisturbed.

Recently my father was operated here. Overall it was a good experience, with smiling and patient staffs (sometimes they also get irritated), facility to avail snacks / food, process oriented and methodical approach and finally a good and confident doctor who counsels and deliver services with smile. However the only challenge is a patient has to be patience enough on the waiting time, no matter what his or her age or condition is. You should keep nearly 4 hours on an average in any kind consulting process be it approval from a physician as operative pre-checks. My request is, if there is a process to expedite senior citizens in the queuing process (banks nowadays are doing that) it will be great. Thanks!

Had to visit 6 times and on every visit they had unnecesarily made us wait for 6-8 hours. When i asked the receptionist for this long waiting everytime, she just said that this process is set by hospital administration so you have to wait. She also said that doctors and optrometrist are less and patients are more. Better we had opted for Susrut or any other eye care foundations.
