Here u will get to see 140+ year old jackfruit tree under which Srila Prabhupada took birth on 1st September 1896... For quite long it wasnt under ISKCON. But now ISKCON Kolkata has secured this place and offered it as a birthday gift to Srila Prabhupada on his 125th appearance day.It was Srila Prabhupadas last desire to secure this place and make memorial here. Infact, in one of his last letters to Sankarshan das adhikary prabhu in May 1977, one of the few Bengali disciples of Srila Prabhupada, he expressed this desire.

Its the original birth place of Srila Prabhupada. Its recently acquired by ISKCON. Currently, the tree below which he appeared, exists. There are 2 rooms, with Srila Deity inside, daily devotees come here in morning around 8.30 am for Guru puja. Its sort of a hut. Needs renovation externally, but spiritually very potent.

Srila Prabhupada, the acharya who spread the chanting of Hare Krsna all over the world, appeared here in September 1, 1986.This is his grandmothers place. The custom then was for the daughter to return to the mothers home for the child birth.It was considered auspicious to give birth under or near a Jackfruit tree. That is the same tree from 1896.No one knows if this is the same building or home. This is government land that squatters took over.We are sharing this spot with them.Guru puja is performed daily in the morning.
