The quality of the cinema hall is very poor. Seat is not good.. bad environment...

Only good thing is picture quality and sound , they are greatSeats are very very very dirty , Staffs are in spite of Giving warm regards and wishes for future they are pathetically rude and too harsh .. we bought some food in interval , I didnt know no foods are allowed inside now .. they stopped me and said throw the food or eat and go .. what the heck !! If no foods are allowed to take , and you have kept a small board for that , and gate is wide open how people will know what is not allowed .. you are not a multiplex and you are also not offering any food , and the way they spoke to me and the tone and pace of it was very bad ..Change your attitude , let people have a happy time , or else time will come soon you all will cry .. will never ever visit again ..*I used to watch atleast 2 movies in a month that also in balcony mostly ..I can pay more but I cant take wrong attitude

One of the oldest movie halls of Kolkata & yet dying its death. The condition of the hall is pathetic. Balcony emanates a foul smell from the toilet making it difficult to view movies. Seats are dilapidated. People still go there for cheap ticket price but personally I feel it should merge with some multiplex & go for a makeover.

Nice to feel nostalgic, but space and facilities limited. Price reasonable but not comfortable. Enter there for time pass and a bit merrymaking

One of the oldest cinema hall in Kolkata. So you can not get modern facilities here. Movie ticket is quite cheaper. Cinema hall is not clean. seats are not comfortable, broken somewhere. Single screen for shows. Picture quality is not so good. Hall must be improved.

One can be entertained here by watching movies @cheap rates. Standard amenities, dont expect premium things here.

The seats are not good, the environment is not fine too, there lies alcohol bottles and food packets at the back of the last seat rows. The hall mainly remains empty, infact housefull films also not gather crowd here. Its a good place to watch movies in low budget, as the tickets are of Rs.60 and Rs.80, only . So its best place to watch a movie when budget is low or other halls are full and if you want fun.

Its a very big property near sealday. Not so comfortable place. Cheap ticket. Couple mainly choose corners to fulfill their lust . School collg student can visit this plc. Very cheap ticket

Very nostalgic about this theater hall, those who saw the golden years of cinema specially Bengli cinema cant forget this hall, my first movie in kolkata was in chabighar itself. Now fighting for its existence, not sure how long it can survive as old movie hall are closing down day by day

Chabighar is a cinema hall, ticket price is comparatively less than others. This is non AC hall and the music system is not digital chairs are made of low quality plastic and ambience of the hall is equipped with strong pungent smell of pesticides or some other chemical stuff.

The positive part is so cheap price and the negative part is maintanance nothing else

Stand alone theatre which is relevantly Economical and so is the ambience and facilities available...but a very commonplace in SEALDAH

One of the Old Single Screen Cinema Hall of Kolkata. The screen is small as compare to other single screens. Seats are also not comfortable neither is balcony nor in down stairs they should renovate this place as it is one of the rich heritage of Kolkata

This single screen movie hall used to be one of the frontiers among other halls in 70s,80s. But theyve not upgraded probably.Bizarre screaming of old fans,seats of balcony are a little bit dirty,rear stall is equipped with plastic chairs without any gallery systematics.Toilets are present in show halls,so people awaiting upcoming movie cant get there until previous show ends.Picture quality is not good at all & so called their Dolby audio is also ridiculous.Overall bad experience.Not worthy of being tried.Cheap ticket,cheap services,cheap quality.

I visited there and i hv been informed by the authority that they have AC in the hall but there is no AC in the Hall but they have installed fake cabinate to make people belive so, ambience is not good seats are not good totally disgusting enviroment ...

Once, at the time of golden period of bengali movies, 1965-1990,this hall was known by cinema lovers bengali people. ছবিঘর chabighar, adjacent to sealdah station area and also surrounding of surendra nath college and bangabadhi college. College students are regular visitors of this cinema hall. Presently both Bengali and hindi movie is running for the public.
