Desolated. Historic. My school/classroom overlooked the place. Stood infront its gate waiting for my bus on my way back everyday. For 14 years a quick peak at the place and activities in and around it, through the classroom windows was an escape from the school hustle bustle. Desolated trams a few running ones too just to keep the history alive. Old and fragile conductors in their khaki uniforms most of whom have probably been around during the pre/post independence era and modernization of the city and now live a nominal life through the salaries/pensions they receive all smiles gossiping and sipping tea. A few low-key shoots for TV and movies, local and Bollywood ones once in a while are a common sight. The Kahani (2010) climax remaining the most notable one. This place in undoubtedly one of the most underrated unnoticed piece of history sitting right in the middle of the city. Holds a lot of value to the city and countless memories for me.

This tram depot is famous for film shoot. Though one can not enter the place without permission. There is a cheap canteen inside. You can have meal there, hence enter and get look around.

Good place near sealdah rail way station

Initially a tram depot of the Calcutta Tramways Corporation, it has now been converted to a maintenance depot of the WBTC for tramcars and buses. Till the 90s there used to be a hustle and bustle at this place every morning of people queuing up to get to work. Now it wears a mostly deserted look, with sporadic filming of movie scenes. Scenes of the film Piku were shot here.There is also a mosque inside the premises.

This is where i spent my childhood and my extended family still stays here. Very close to my heart and love coming back here each time. The cosmopolitan culture of this place and harmony between people from different culture and faith is exemplary in todays world.

It is located in central Kolkata near mallik bazar.

Its a tram depot with lots of historical importance. Lined opposite to it are so many churches and was once a hub of the British/Anglo population. The road has now become a busy intersection and traffic bottlenecks are frequent here. This was a site for shooting of the Hindi movie Kahani. The depot is not so well looked after though.

Nonapukur is head office for tram and also maintainence work shop. Me and my friends are get training here totally free of cost, all tram are available here, stuff are also good behaviour for trainiee student.

Its one of the wakf property. And most tram depot to my knowledge are wakf property hence you will find a mosque inside. Its a small mosque, but its beauty does not lie in it being small rather than its position inside a large compound and it being a very calm place.

This has real old Calcutta flavour of trams that chug out as if the fatigue of two centuries sit on their shoulder. People may find the road narrow but I can stand hours to see the trams snaking their way in and out of the depot.

Nonapukur Tram Depot is the terminus of Tram. It is opposite to Rafic Ahamed Kidwai Road. Opposite to Jaguar and Landrover Car Showroom.
