The move was regarded as a highly communal stand of the state govt. Nonetheless, after that, fearing backlash, a committee was formed to repair the mosque. Afterwards, the Mosque was restored with the joint effort of Tipu Sultan Shahi Masjid Protection & Welfare Committee and the Metro Railway.

This is a very beautiful historical and huge mosque.Luckily, I had the opportunity to visit this mosque and perform Namaz. When I went to visit West Bengal, I offered prayers in this mosque before going to visit the Victoria Memorial.The one thing that I found very beautiful here was the feeding of several pigeons here. And more than that, a man was standing there and feeding them to give food to those pigeons.This scene was very beautiful, memorable unforgettable and emotional for me.
