This is definitely one of the best restaurants which serves authentic Bengali cuisine.Ambience: A perfect Bengali setup. While most of the staffs wear Bengali apparel, the art and decor may not be easily attached with Bengal tradition.Hospitality: Based on their brand and price, hospitality is definitely below par. They dont take the initiative for customer delight. In fact they have to be poked enough for getting details of particular menu.Food: No doubt the taste is good, but does it worth the cost? Question arises for few of their marque dishes. Also it is very surprising that they have hardly any option for people who follow jain type of food.Overall its good for non vegetarians but definitely over priced

We went for a family dinner with an elderly grandmother, so we were quite concerned about the safety, and Aheli didnt disappoint us. There are following all the safety protocol and safe distancing. We ordered the bengali dishes of our choices from the menu.Specially likes the bhetki paturi, chanar dalna, offcourse the mutton, and the showstopper was the rajbhog. I havent had this soft rajbhog for a really long time. It Was literally melting in the mouth. I am not fond of sweets that much, but this Rajbhog I am definitely recommending if you are going ala carte in Aheli.

1.Ambience n Hospitality are A++....2.Food is awesome...thalis are basically in cheap rate... The veg thalis was #THEBEST... The best part of the thali was gobindo bhog rice nd the ghee..the rajbhog having rose flavour is too good nd soft nd spongy...But they improve their bhetki paturi n mutton kossa n misti doi... the shorshe bata of Bhetki paturi was a lil bit bitter...mutton was having a loud smell... the misti doi was not sweet enough...the mixture of sweet n sourness of the doi was not good.3.Talking about parking, their big space enables a lot of car to park simultaneously...4.Washrooms are too clean n hygienic having enough of tissues n hand soap.5.They are maintaining all the rules n regulations abided by the govt. for corona virus these days. All of the staffs were wearing mask. There was santization n temperature chacking process also before you enter the restaurant.6. The Rabindranath Sangeet music was the cherry on the top...it was making the environment calm n peacefull.

NEVER JUDGE A BOOK BY ITS COVER This is normally said when we see something bad on the outside. We dont think the object or the person is bad, but in the case of this restaurant, the inside is really dirty, no matter what, because a table reserve a few days ago for a good healthy meal. I had already done that and I already had that confirmation, not only that, but the restaurant authorities also gave me that confirmation.Arriving at the restaurant, I had to face another problem, I found out that some of the guests who had already registered for the table reservation had some names written down and some were not written down. Thats Why my name was also not written on their reservation book. And its up to them (Restaurant Authority)to decide whose name to write and whose name not to writeAnd not just me, but some other people in front of me had to face the same problem. Then after waiting outside for 30 minutes the manager of the restaurant came and told me that the place was empty, so I went in, he immediately said that I have to stand a little longer, so I stood again for 10 minutes. Then I sat down at a table,As I was sitting, I saw a lot of dirt and grime on the chair and table mat. After making third time requests to the manager, a girl came and somehow clean that mat & chair. It was as if I was eating at a hotel on the Footpath. Then I ordered two Non -Veg thali, after a while they placed my order , but I was not really satisfied with the food because the portion of the food was correct and the taste was not disgusting but not a very good or tasty one.And at the end of my lunch I had to wait another 30 minutes to pay the bill because all their employees and managers were busy so after I said it again and again to the manager & staff they were unable to hear. And if you think this restaurant is right for healthy eating and healthy environment during this corona situation, then you are really wrong, Even a sidewalk hotel or restaurant pays a lot of attention to cleanliness at the moment, but I just didnt see the point of cleanliness when I went Aaheli .Looked too bad.

Although the decor is a bit dated, the food was really delicious. We were a large crowd (12 of us) and the wait staff were very attentive and helpful at making recommendations and making sure everyone was served and attended to.I personally had the vegetable thali, which was excellent. The portions were generous and everything was tasty. Other people in the group ordered a variety of dishes - each was received well. No complaints at all.Im not sure why, but they brought us a cake at the end of our dinner. We were full, so they were kind enough to divide the cake and pack it away for us and our guests to take home. The main thing that would have made the experience 5 stars would have been a tidied up and updated look for better atmosphere and ambiance.

Food: If you love authentic Bengali cuisine, this is the place. Luchi with Kolkatar Kasha Mangsho was excellent in taste. We also enjoyed Basanti Pulao with Dab Chingri. The name of the dishes were as interesting as the flavour and taste. We have also tried Muchmuche Bhetki Cutlet and Chatokdari Jolpari (deep fried prawn) in the starter along with Anaraser Jeeramrito (Pineapple drink).Price: very reasonable (around INR 1200 to 1500 per head for a moderately heavy meal)Hospitality: We were welcomed by staffs wearing dhuti-punjabi and sari. Live Bengali music was not there due to COVID pandemic. The food were served in clean copper utensils, which will give you the feel of Maharaja.Ambience: Decoration with Durga idol will give you the feel of Durga Puja during this pandemic, in absence of pandal hopping.Safety: Social distancing was maintained. Staffs were wearing mask and gloves. Hand sanitizer provided at the entrance.Overall impression: We enjoyed the Saptami dinner at Aheli and we recommend our friends to visit at Aheli safely.

Located at the Peerless Inn, Aaheli provides the best of East and West Bengal under one roof. The food is simply outstanding, right from Bheckti Paturi to Chingri Bati Chorchori to Postor Bora or Shukto, anything that you try out there is par excellence. The Kosha Mangsho is perhaps one of the best that you get in the city. The menu is very extensive and an easier way to go for it would be to order a Thali which is available in 4 varieties in non-vegetarian and one variety in vegetarian. There is Ilish available in one of the thalis round the year. Be prepared to burn a hole through your pocket since the food is extremely expensive.

You can enjoy the Rabindra Sangeet while relishing the food. I had opted for Vegetarian Thali n the experience was memorable. Servers tell you how to start with baingan bhaji, followed by luchi. After an insanely long time getting burnt in Kolkotas heat, we decided to get into the closest restaurant possible and ended up at Aaheli. This was a fine dining restaurant, and we were amazed at how beautiful the place looked. The ambience was top notch, and the staff were dressed in traditional wear. We werent too hungry, so we just had some chawal and shuktoi, classic traditional food of Bengal. The flavours were amazing, and the food tasted really good. Food was highly overpriced, but we expected an exceptionally good taste. But, taste was not even close to good Bengali restaurants. A piece of Eelish Paturi costs around 2300 and Dab Chingri (5 pcs only) costs 1495. They serve Govinda Bhog rice as their plain rice, but we found insect in it. Again Ill say taste was below average. Only Kolkata Kosha mangsho was good with Basanti polao, but portion size is very less as compared to price. Kolkata Kosha mangsho (4pcs) costs 695 and was served in a small plate with very less gravy. Sorry for not clicking pics of food because it was not worth it.
