Now wears a deserted eerie look,totally unkempt heritage of Kolkata,unhonoured unsung Crematorium at no.2 Crematorium street behind Lower circular Road cemetery,first gas operated crematorium in India(1926-80s),strangely, meant for Christians,also Bramhos,who preferred their ashes for urn burial.This is the place where the legend Jagadish Chandra Bose was cremeted.This little forgotten history is now covered in the darkness of oblivion.The rights of entry is totally prohibited unless a prior permission from the Christian burial board.Adjucent to it there is an old cemetery also,which has strict restriction or prohibition of entrance(the vague reason not explained by the hostile keeper)
