This is an amazing, historic concert hall. Staff was great, acoustics are good and I had such a great experience. It was their first night in 18 months so there was an extra sense of pride and accomplishment in the atmosphere. Will def consider the 3 hour drive again for future shows.

The Midland Theatre. An old renovated historic theatre. I have never actually seen a concert here but I did watch a film (A league of their own) with my wife. I really enjoy these places. Theres just so much darn history in the building and its wonderful that it was salvaged. They definitely dont make them like that anymore. It really makes you feel like you went back in time. I hope to see a concert soon or maybe The Nutcracker with our kids. Excellent venue! Gave an extra star for location, location, location! And the awesome marquee!I

We went to the last showing of the Central Ohio Youth Ballets production of The Nutcracker. It was a great show. The theater itself is a beautifully restored, yet intimate theater, small because it was built in 1928 and catered to small elite audiences. With 1,800 seats, which are rather tight, not a lot of leg room, youll be charmed by the grandness of the architectural touches that lends itself to and elegant atmosphere. If youre physically handicapped youre destined to sit on ground floor level with limited view from the sides because there is no elevator to the second floor. However, it was a thrill to climb those marble stairs and feels the real wood of the balister. The lobby is open to the second floor balcony as well and you get the impression you are on a bridge. Overall its a grand little place I would and may well visit again.

The historic Midland Theatre in Newark Ohio is a great venue to see a show. We sat on the Orchestra floor in the odd numbered seats. From what I can tell there really isnt a bad seat in the house. If you have a chance to see a concert please take it, youll be surprised. There are plenty of restaurants nearby so arrive early, walk the square and enjoy the evening.

It was a wonderful concert and a beautiful place! My only disappointment was the talking going on by people standing in the back. Our seats were a great view, but second from last row in the center. The first half of the performance, some volunteers and patrons were talking. During the quiet songs, which were in the beginning, they were very annoying and not even whispering. I said something to a staff person at intermission, and she said she would watch for the problem during the second half. It was quiet after that.

Beautiful facility with very comfy seating. However, you can save money by having a friend go and stream it or record it instead. Numerous people were streaming the concert on Facebook and the ushers did absolutely nothing about it, even after being informed. So find out if someone else is going before spending your own money, management doesnt seem to mind!Response to management: The fact that I brought it up to the usher should have indicated that my experience was negatively impaired. I did not go to watch the performers through the phone of the person in front of me. And I was informed by the usher that recording was prohibited during the performance. But thank you for letting me know that I run this risk at all other showings.

Really cool restored old theater! We went for the Polar Express and santa experience and it was great! As this was our first time here and we didnt realize it, they do not sell/allow food or drinks so make sure you snack the kids up before you go! The sound was also pretty loud for the movie so if your kids are sensitive to loud sounds maybe bring some ear muffs.

When I had called about tickets back in June I asked for handicapped seats. When I picked them up they were not. I use a rolling walker and a lady staff member took it from me and said she would bring it back and never did. They did such a beautiful restoration of this years ago. It really is a gem and worth the visit. They bring in some good names, too! Our only wish is that there would be more affordable events there for the community. A lot of their concerts and other events are pretty costly. One word of caution: If you are a big and/or tall person, avoid sitting in the mezzanine! The seats are the old narrow seats with VERY little legroom. We went to see Garrison Keeler here years ago and were miserable.
