One of the finest places to have meal in Calcutta. The decor, ambience and food are remarkable.The menu was just right, not too elaborate, and everything that we had, was perfectly cooked. This was my second visit, and they have maintained the taste and quality of food. The place is divided in an open air section, a family dine in zone and a shisha zone. The Spinach and Ricotta Cheese Ravioli is my absolute favourite.

One of the best European food in Kolkata. Taste and quality is unparalleled. Did not like the beer batter fish fry though. Definitely try our their desserts!

Best restaurant to visit in kolkata. I went to Kolkata for first time and it was amazing experience. Must try there special dish I dont remember its name it was smashed potatoes and chicken. This picturesque semi rooftop nestled in a busy Kolkata street attracted us with its glittering fairy lights. The ambience is wonderful. But even though I really wanted to return to take more pics I seriously cannot in good conscience. The food and service is terrible to say the least. Dont know what they are serving as chicken and pork platters , but it doesnt taste like any normal animal protein. Had to ask the server twice to check with the chef if the burger is chicken or not. Please dont go there if you are hungry or looking for food. But of course when it comes to taking photos under the twinkling stars, it serves the purpose. Forced to write this review cause I cant get over the fact that I had to cleanse my palate with ice cream after having an entire meal!!!!

Had no idea why I was so late to discover this place. It is a bit over-priced but the food quality is great. Also the cocktails had original taste. I would recommend everyone to save enough and visit this place. You wont regret it!

This is not a restaurant for Western/Italian food, although it claims to be one. The restaurant is more like Italian food with Indian flavours. We went twice. When we ordered pizza, it was nice and in line with what I expected. The next time we ordered a dish called 6 hour pork belly. The dish that came was either not pork belly or the chef didnt know how to cook it. It is the second dish that did the damage, however. It was chicken burger. It was very spicy and loaded with Indian spices, although the description of the item on the menu did not mention that it would be very spicy. I usually avoid oily and very spicy food because they cause me health problems. I prefer Western food for that reason. Apart from the pizza, this restaurant is really an Indian food restaurant; only the names of the dishes are Western. It is OK if this is what you are looking for, just dont order the pork belly dish, they dont know how to cook it. I dont think the quality of the ingredients is top notch, I still have a slight stomach upset 3 days later.

Great location and the typical modern ambience of dark interiors. Be cautious because their starters are minuscule, as are the special mocktails served in slender champagne tulips. The mains are hearty - both in portion size and taste. The Salt House has an interesting menu which should be explored over time. Reasonably good service.

The place exudes a quiet sophistication, which is also capably reflected in their offerings.Our server for the day, Tapas, was also a great host and bettered the whole meal with his service and attention to details.

Nice ambience, great presentation, good service, and yummy food. What else one could ask for. The desserts are to die for. I can visit this place just for the hazelnut mousse. Just look at this beauty and i am sure you would not be able to resist. The have a nice modern touch to their menu and there are a lot of options to choose from. For mains we ordered the good old mac n cheese and a vada pau slider. Both were yummy.The seating area is divided into three - a hookah area, a dining area and an open area. They have given the interior a feel of greenhouse with glass shades and lots of plants. The interiors are subtle and soothing.Not in your face kinds.There is something for every kind of person at Salt house. Do visit the place if you are around. I promise you would love it !!

The experience wouldve been much better rated if not for the Pizza and the wait staff who then showed inexplicable insensitivity to feedback being given by the customer.The pizza I ordered was a make your own with the following instructions -Margherita (i.e. with basil and tomato base and cheese) + 3 additional toppings. I made certain to revert that the margherita items should be present on the pizza being ordered.However, as feared, the pizza arrived without basil or the tomato sauce.(See picture) It was dry and difficult to eat. The pizza bread was also not cooked properly.When told that the tomato sauce is missing, the wait staff said that there is tomato sauce on it. I told him that they may have made a mistake ... why dont you check with the kitchen ? He told me instantly there is no mistake and he has already checked. I cannot imagine how he had already checked since I had just given him the feedback. After this he kept on insisting that I am wrong and that there is sauce on it... I gave up and told him that its really dry and unedible. He just shrugged and left. No intention to repair the situation or try and solve the issue.It was really a disaster as this was the first night in 11 months my parents and I had stepped out for dinner. A big mistake to have gone to what used to be a decent place for dinner.Felt cheated and that the value for money was pathetic due to the above issue.

Awesome experience. I was there early morning for a Zumba session. I was the first person to reach and they were just cleaning up. The staff were helpful & courteous. Ambience is great. Loved the decor. View is fantastic, considering its in the middle of the city! Will definitely be back with my gang.

An absolute gem of a place located on the 6th floor of Shakespeare Point. The decor, ambience and food are just fabulous. There is also an atrium which hosts private events. The open terrace has limited seating and is decorated with numerous plants. A cafe, lounge, bar and restaurant all combined into one gastronomic destination.

This place is amazing... Love the ambience... Love the food and drinks...Located at the 6th Floor of the Shakespeare Point... The building on which FBB is situated... The interior in black is just fabulous... They have a beautiful Roof Top dining space too... Also, the wood over at the dining area is a special attraction here...The staffs are very very well trained... And performing their duties extremely well... They are attentive and came up with very good food suggestions...We ordered for Spaghetti Aglio e Olio, BBQ Chicken Pizza, Bhetki Fingers, Salt House Club Sandwich, Beer Battered Bhetki and Chips & Hazelnut Mousse... And believe me each and every dishes and just outstanding in taste and quantity... Quality is exquisite... I loved it... Oops I missed to update you about the drinks... We had their Strawberry Lemonade and Kokum Spritzer... And both were very very refreshing... Although I like the second one the most... And I must say dont even forgot to try their Hazelnut Mousse... It was just out of the world...Outstanding experience as a walk in customer after a long time...Only chap about the place is the pocket pinch... It is on the higher side...Consider the rating to be 4.5 for the pricing... Thats it...

Came here for the first time on a Sunday afternoon. The ambiance is very nice and the food and drinks are pretty good, but unfortunately the service is very slow. Portion sizes for appetizers are on the smaller side, which is fine because we wanted to try a few different things, but they took so long to come that we didn’t have time to call for mains. Also, the music was so loud that the server took our order incorrectly two times (once giving us veg when we called for sausage and once we got bacon when we ordered veg). Ended up getting rather impatient towards the end, they definitely need way more staff to keep up.

My friends and I had gone for Christmas lunch and even though all the outdoor seats were reserved, the concierge was gracious enough to arrange one for us, for being punctual 🙂. It was a sunny afternoon and the chill, the sun, the pristine white furniture and live music made the lunch, perfect! The menu wasnt too elaborate, which was just about right and everything that we had had, was perfectly cooked. The servers were very courteous and the plates of food kept arriving at the correct intervals of time. This was my first visit to The Salt House and I would definitely visit them again.

My second visit to salt House this time and both time the food has been phenomenal. Absolutely love how chef Auroni creates magic with ingredients and the plating is simple and elegant. Tried the mutton roast this time and it was to die for. The place is elegantly and had mimalist style decor. From teh past visit, Id surely recommend the wood fired pizzas and salmon bagel.

So delighted that the restaurant has a liquor licence and has such amazing cocktails. I loved the Elder Than Martini which came with a rose petal rather than the elder flower. The cortado with caramel espresso was divine too. The food is always exceptional and the desserts even more so! A bit of white noise thanks to the Hindi crooner on the terrace which meant we were happy in our usual booth inside ;-p

Its a good place, the food is really nice. But the portions are really less even for 2 people. Each dish costs a minimum of Rs 500, compared to that , they portion is less.

One of the best places to eat in town, if not the best. Ive been there thrice since its opening and havent ever been disappointed. The place feels brilliant. Its a rooftop restaurant. But thing thats stands out is its food. Seriously. One of the best. The quality and attention to details points shows the effort the people have put in. The food obviously has the European touch in mind. But what sets it apart is the produce used. The ingredients and all of it. They have paid attention to the essentials. Their fish items are something to be talked about. Its all locally sourced and hence has the freshness required. Also, the food has little bit of Bengal in it. Specially, the fish items. Fish and Bengal are inseparable, but it is something worth noting, especially when some of the items are extremely well paired with the traditional Bengali gondhoraj lebu. And their mocktails and desserts are really, really good. One simply cannot complain. It has all the right stuff and all the tastes to make it worth the price you are paying.

In one word... exquisite!! Every single one of our foods and drinks was exceptionally good. Loved the whole experience.

Tiny portion sizes but decent food. Manager is a douche though. The seats are super uncomfortable. The manager took the table with good seats and when we requested for that table he said no. He said he had all his stuff strewn around (which were 2 pens and 1 sheet of paper) and it would be too difficult to shift.

Its a beautiful place to spend time with your loved ones and friends with good food, drinks and shishas. Prices are little higher side but ambience is good.

The ambience is great but the service and food is absolutely not worth the price. Pizza was cold, and the taste was very bland. Raviolli was again a disappointment. Priced too high with very poor food quality. Service is super slow. The only thing that came on time was the bill.

It was a good experience over-all. The food didnt let us down at all. The behaviour of the staff was pleasant. The ambience was nice too. Their non-veg items were really tasty, especially the chicken items. Some of the items might seem over-priced though.

Hazelnut mousse, pasta was heavenly! The outdoor seating dinner up really well a adding to the beauty of the place.

Food ambience is just awesome. Service too good. They got hookah too but in case the outside space is booked for party you wont be able to get on hands with hookah.

Summary: Service was horrible and terribly slow. Messed up our orders twice during our time there. The bill came faster than anything else we ordered. Portions were tiny compared to the price. The two stars are for the taste and ambience. That’s it.

The ambience is good. But if you are for good food, salt house is not the place. Pizza was worse than ok, ravioli was bad mushroom tart was decent, kulcha with humus was decent. Hazelnut mousse was also just not wow.Was very disappointed with the food after hearing good reviews about the place.Not a recommended visit, infact scrapyard is much better with amazing food.

Burger is must try, hummus platter is also good. ( Can vouch for veg because I ordered that)
